    Fantastic work both on yours and your dads. I've got to learn how to wire an engine. I think that's the next step I need to conquer.

    • @RussellModelCars
      @RussellModelCars  3 роки тому

      thanks so much. it is not hard just need the right drill bits and wire. it needs to be to scale makes a big different if to big. if i had to start all over i would buy the pre made wire set it makes it easier to start. have a great weekend

      @@RussellModelCars I picked up a pre-wired distributor a few weeks ago. Just have to find the right model I think.

    Yours (and your dad's) is looking GREAT, brother, details you've added look fantastic 😁 If these are even close to being a reissue of the one I was building in 2011, they're definitely worth the price, just in details! I should have that Kenworth W900 finished by tomorrow night. Not my best work, but I'm enjoying blowing the soot off of my rusty building, LOL! 😜✌

      Thanks so much. I think it is the same but has all 3 options insted of just 2 if what I seen online is right. It is a great kit that is for sure. Have a great weekend

      @@RussellModelCars the release that I was building, I think it was a " 2 n 1", drag and factory stock (I was building the drag version, something I rarely do, when the house decided to burn and distract me, LOL), I need to add one back to my stash. You too, my friend. I'm about to finish that W900 today most likely, might try to geta short "Final" tomorrow or early next week.

    My decals for the gauges fell off too so I put a dot of glue into the area to hold them. Funny both of ours fell out.

    • @RussellModelCars

      that is funny they must not like sticking to chrome. i was going to put mod podge clear over them but did not make it to do it.

    Ive been a builder for over 30+ years and with my big fingers count out the BMF and photo edge items is something you have to be very careful with

      It sure adds a lot of challenge that is for sure. I been trying to use a wax pencil more it seems to help but still not super easy.

    Having trouble with side panels on "62" interior tub aft ends gapped because they ride on rear seat. Any ideas besides trimming?.

    • @RussellModelCars
      @RussellModelCars  2 роки тому

      I used a dremel and carved it with my hobby knife. It was a snug fit for me as well. I hope you get it to fit good.

    Guy, it shows 2 rear end and 2 front end suspention set ups. Which one did you go with on your car.

    • @RussellModelCars
      @RussellModelCars  2 роки тому +1

      I went with the one that works with the big tires. So it would be the custom option I dont remember what one it is on the instructions

    Does this car have metal axles? Thanks

    • @RussellModelCars
      @RussellModelCars  2 роки тому

      I think the back is metal and the front is metal studs that are glued to the wheels.

    What’s best engine block orange paint to use … I’m new to this model stuff

    • @RussellModelCars
      @RussellModelCars  2 роки тому

      I normally use the testor enamel paint in the small jars. The old stuff was really close but the new might be a bit off. There was a model master that was the exact color but it is discontinued so really hard to find.

  • @samuelvasquez8170

    What is the color for the seats and how did you make the seats look like cloth?

    • @RussellModelCars
      @RussellModelCars  3 роки тому

      I use a flat rattled can base color. this one is a camo tan. then i use acrylic and dry brush the different colors one them to get that look
