I feel like the Zelda movie could potentially be successful. I understand why they wouldn't want Link as a protag since he's supposed to be a vessel for the character and is, mostly absent from the over all story and lore of the games. Zelda would be a much better protag as she actually has an established character while still being interesting and important like Link. An animated or CGI movie would be much better than a live action movie for the franchise tho, Sony does have the tech and skills to pull one off good as well which confuses me why they don't do more animated movies, it's kind of their whole thing. The director isn't a problem either because he's made a TON of successful movies, but for a Zelda movie to be pulled off successfully it'd have to be something he's never done before so I'm still not too sure.
I suppose there is potential for a Legend of Zelda movie, but due to the nature of video games it is hard to pull off. The direct has made four movies, but has credits for working on other movies, mainly Star Trek.
We'll I suppose The Legend of Zelda is the most suitable Nintendo franchise for a live action film adaptation, since Metroid doesn't have the sales or popularity for a movie adaptation, and the rest of Nintendos currently active franchises are pretty much for kids.
No studio can save the legend of Zelda and I’m a HUGE fan and been dreaming of it since I was a kid. But this woke shit is going tooooooo far I’m tired of seeing my favorite franchises ruined. I do not wanna see my all time favorite franchise “Zelda” EVER ruined
Personally woke or none woke, I don't think it can be made without being terrible. That is mainly due the the nature of video games, and how long they have to tell stories along with the game play elements, which a lot of times really can't be translated to a movie. Just look at the Minecraft trailer.

@catsithgaming We'll unless Metroid Prime 4 turns out to be a system seller which I doubt, I don't think will ever see a Metroid movie now, since Nintendo won't even bother to rerelease some of the old Metroid Mangas from 2000s in the US and UK we're Metroid is most popular, I personally think a new comic book mini series would be the best adaptation direction for Metroid.

They did have a Metroid movie in the works and it never came to fruition, in part due to lack of support from Nintendo, and other reasons.
