- A little over a year ago I had the opportunity to travel to The Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho with my friend Kent. These are some of the scenes I got to witness and the resulting photographs!
Images were made on Kodak Portra 400 with my Mamiya RB67 and Mamiya 7ii Medium format film cameras.

it is a perfect landscape, thx for sharing
Lovely photos as always man. So good to see your videos back in the feed.
Thank you kindly Willem! Feels very good to be back in the swing of things, especially when it’s stuff I’ve been waiting so long to get out there haha!
Willy! Back on track ❤
Best believe it! Couldn’t wait to get these photies out haha!
I am so glad that you're back man
Whoah! What a beautiful part of the world.
It’s definitely currently the first place I want to try get back to!
Awesome landscape & wonderful photographs by you. Being a horse person I was surprised to see the use of horses so much in Africa. Totally enjoyed the video!
An amazing set of images! If you plan on shooting film, borrow, lend, steal a medium format camera. The flowers are a reminder of Britains war on the Afrikaaners (whites) to grab the diamonds and gold! The burning of crops to starve and subdue the people. Wheat had to be imported from Argentina! The Cosmos flower seeds came with.Started along the roads of the wagons.. Spread everywhere.
I went to ZA side! Orange Free State to 'Golden Gate'. The Drakensberg mountains really beautiful. I used Mamiya C series. Twin lens. Your pix great! Cosmos also means it's Autumn Fall. Parts of Lesotho are snow bound in winter! Esp. The South parts. ZA South Africa has always needed to fly food and supplies, to that place! Even when Apartheid! Pity not some close-ups of people and their neat hats! Again great photos! Bravo.
Good to see you back 🙋🏻♂️
Thank you! Excellent to be back!
6:06 stunner! The weeping willows in the distance, the meandering river and the pops of pink in the foreground ... * chef's kiss *
Thank you kind fish! You’ve noted everything I enjoy about that image pretty much haha, all that and the two weird mountain peaks in the background!
It is so great to see you again!!!!!
It’s so great to be back Jacky!! Thank you kindly for stoping by 🥳
Excellent video...great to see your work again...and even more glad to see you healthy! Take care!
Thanks so much Steve! I’m glad you enjoyed it, and am very glad to be healthy haha! Take care to you too!
Amazing video and incredible photos! You captured this landscape in a really beautiful and unique way. Also this makes me miss SA so much. The Drakensberg escarpment is one of my favourite places in the world and seeing those beautiful valleys and mountains always brings me so much happiness. Hope I get the chance to explore Lesotho one day too ⛰️
we can leave, but we cannot take Africa out of ourselves..
I really love your environmental portraits most of all, underrated skill
What a beautiful photos! Thank you again for making videos again. 👏👏👏
Thanks Arturo! And thanks for watching them again! 😊
A bit surreal for me as a photographer from Lesotho....thank you for the kind words about our country
That’s so awesome!! It’s truly on top of my list of places I want to get back to someday haha, and I’m so jealous you get to make work out there all the time!
Surreal landscapes and pictures, love it.🐝🐛
Thank you Nikolaus! Was surreal to be out there!
Mystical, Magical, Beautiful. Thanks Will. ❤
Mystical magical mountains haha! Thanks so much for watching 💞

i wouldn't miss it for the world!! ❤️
The only thing that warms my heart more than the return of Willy’s videos is seeing him reply to virtually every comment. It was such an endearing thing to see when I was binging Will’s old videos, and I’m glad to see the tradition is still alive
Ahaha cheers Roman! If folks are gonna take the time to leave a comment I’m for sure going to do my darndest to reply, was a bit of a lapse while I was sick since it took more energy than I had available but now all is good in the world again so things can return to the way they should be ahah 😤 thanks once more for the kind words!
The waterfall does it for me, a surreal feeling. Like I'm in a fantasy world.
I'm so glad the image was able to give you that feeling!!
That landscape with the river is insane !
Shot mybruuuuu thanks for developing it so nicely ekseeee 👀
Man the scenes were amazing out there were amazing, a true mountain kingdom! Bee shot was next level but my favorite had to have been the donkey hiding behind the log. #sheepsquad
Ah thanks Asher, they truly were! Ahah that donkey was big chillin I really wanted to pet him! #sheepsquaaaad
Best bee photo for sure... I also really love the guy with the Anatolian shepherd at 13:35. Magic pics on an amazing journey. Thanks so much for sharing!! ❤️
Thank youuu! That was a very cool moment for sure!
Beautiful landscapes... lovely images
Thank you kindly Tim!
Good to have you back Will! Hope you're healing well and doing good :)
Thank you Shanil! Healing is coming along swimmingly at this point which is wonderful, very glad to be back!
That landscape is amazing! You should get it framed
Oooh it’s in the works trust me ahaha!
I missed these Sheepskin colours man. Your colour work is so damn good. The bee on the cosmos! So strange because they are super abundant in JHB, kinda took them for granted… Love to see you looking healthy and back at it man - don’t know how you get so good at shooting bees. Tried to do it a bunch as a mini homage but haven’t even come close I’m afraid 😂
Ahh thanks Brendon! Spent so long tinkering with these and they’re still not all where I want them to be haha, thankfully they won’t be too much of a headache to rescan at least!
It’s so nice to feel back to normal health again, and actually wild realising that I actually looked quite sickly before my diagnosis even though I didn’t realise it at the time haha.
The trick to the bees is mainly luck and a lot of swearing I reckon hey, that or you need a super lazy pollened up bee to be moving like a snail so they don’t just take off instantly like they aaaaaaalways seem to do haha.
I think the stars just lined up for the one in this video or something. Thanks so much again for the kind words though man, really appreciate it
Glad to see youre okay❤
I forget to reply to this, but this is good advice about the pollen-drunk bee. The bees I've been shooting have been those mad-rush procrastinators getting shit done before the sun goes down. Literally one of my favourite things to shoot, but I still have not got a 'Sheepskin' level BEE photo. One day soon I hope.
Def the most talented one!
Cheers Ruggero!
just smoked and and went on a photo walk and now time to unwind with a high will experience
Ahah ooooh boy are you gonna enjoy the second part😏🤫
@@willysheepskin i really did 🫡 job well done
Absolutely fantastic landscapes, wowowow!🤩
Thanks Daniel! Can’t wait to find a way to go back haha, I’m convinced the best of that place is yet to come!
@@willysheepskin I'm looking forward to the follow up!
Great video, amazing scenery... You captured it well! I love the flower photo's too. My favorite is the one without the flash :)
Thank you kindly! I prefer the non flash one too, I blasted it a bit too hard with the flash I reckon but not much I could do in the moment since the tla200 doesn’t offer much in terms of light throw customization haha. Glad I went for both options though!
I think these photos are some of your best! Looks like this trip was a blast!
Thanks Brae! It really was, so keen to get back out there and take my time seeing as much as possible, and filming with something besides the iPhone haha!
Thanks for bringing us along in this cool place.
It’s the greatest of pleasures Nico, I’m glad you got to join!
Love the cosmos Will! Gorgeous.
how beautiful Lesotho is! Thanks for sharing that with us! :)
Cheers Simon! It really is one of a kind, can’t wait to get back!
Some incredible landscape photos, those colors look epic.
Thank you Alex! It was truly a next level experience!
Brilliant video, brilliant landscape! Wonderful, William!❤
Thank you so much for uploading a new video so soon since the last one! It was such a nice surprise to find it pop up. You really inspired me to take my rb out and go places with it haha. Kinda funny/interesting you were so enamored with the cosmos flowers, as where I am (Japan) they are kind everywhere come the right season. Anyway, keep up the good work ans take care :)
The greatest of pleasures to put one out so soon Tomo!
I had no idea they were everywhere in Japan that’s so cool! Another reason to put Japan high up on the list of places to travel haha, I think they’re pretty much my favorite flowers now lol! Take care to you too amigo!
needs a bigger format! From one who hates big cameras.
I was looking at these images thinking “these landscapes seem a bit heavy on the red or magenta” and then you explain exactly why. I can only imagine how amazing it looks to the eye when you’re there. The photos paint a great picture of the place though.
Ahah cheers Robbie! I probably leant a bit heavily into the red on a couple of occasions still to be honest, but that’s what felt right at the time lol! Will still tinker with them and rescan at some point down the road I reckon, but for now that’s where they exist in my brain haha. It really was absolutely flabbergasting in person though
This was a mesmerizing video! What a beautiful nation. The largest enclave nation on the planet, I think! Great video, again. Cheers!
Thanks Alp! It is indeed! Highest “lowest” point above sea level of any country too haha, I didn’t know any of this until after but makes sense that a place that special to see has a bunch of special traits too lol! Cheers!
A bountiful trip! Can't even pick my favorite shot, there are so many gems. Love your videos so much
Most bountiful indeed! Thank you so much dude, whenever I’m having to film stuff like this on the iPhone off the hip I’m like “damn imagine what Logan could do here” cus your video quality/ grades are so next level haha, looking forward to your next offering as always!
Definitely your best bee photo!!
I’m glad you concur kind Pain!!
always inspiring to see how you photograph 🫡
Thanks so much Krishna!
Amazing!
Thanks Aleksander!
Loved seeing the cuts from iPhone shots to your film frames, it gave me a better understanding of your use of curves. Obviously, your photographic technique is incredible as a whole, but as I'm sure you're aware, people are extremely drawn to your expertise with regard to colour. I'd love to see another video diving deep into your scanning and conversion/grading process. Incredible to see you healthy and able to your work again!
Cheers Zack! The iPhone tends to lean more into cyan and desaturates whatever happens to be going on in the shadows somewhat haha, it drives me nuts sometimes Cus I grade stuff to how it feels right and then I look back at the iPhone and I’m like “wtf this doesn’t feel right at all” haha.
I’ve tried recording a color video a couple of times but whenever I look back at what I’m saying it’s basically “I just go with what feels right” so doesn’t feel worth putting out haha, that and the fact that last time I did anything regarding scanning and such I got a mountain of enraged messages from people that actually ended up not even knowing what they were on about but they were so heated about how wrong I was I just caved lol. I’ll have a go at it again some point in the future though Cus I honestly seem to spend most of my life nerding out over color haha
Missed your vids!!! Soo pleased to have you back!
Thank you so much! So pleased to be back!
You got some amazing footage and photographs here Will, thank you for sharing! And thank you for making us discover African countries through film photography (L.A. is cool but it's nice to see some other places too!).
It’s a great pleasure man! Hopefully much more African stuff coming in the future haha, I’m scheming to get back on the travel wave soon, glad you enjoyed this!
This was an absolutely amazing video! I love that you keep adding bee photos to your portfolio!also that waterfall photo at 11:08 is my favorite!
Cheers Reimann! Someday I’ll have a portfolio purely for bees and I’m ready for it haha! Glad you liked that waterfall shot, the scope of that place was next level!
If "daaaamn son" were a photographer🔥🔥🔥
Ahaha thanks AJ, really appreciate that ✨
Beautiful video!
Looking forward for future videos to see those bizarre photos :)
I have to admit, I definitely ripped off the bee pic concept from you and went out among the flowers and chased a bunch of them down this spring. Not to worry, however, the shots wont be released because I left my RB lens in M (after disassembling it and fixing it), thus they are all blank and the flowers are now gone. haha! Maybe next year!
Love your stuff, Will. You're a massive inspiration.
Aaaaaargh noooo not the M thing 🫠 that’s my absolute worst! Gives you an excuse to get back out there though, plus the hope is once you’ve done it enough times you’re overwhelmed by the fear of doing it every time you see the camera so never forget. I have not reached that point yet since it still happens to me sometimes, but I think that is the hope 🤣
So honored to be an inspiration also, hope to continue doing so!
I enjoyed your point of view and how you captured the views in Lesotho, Great work!
I never heard of you before, but this video popped up in my recommended section. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I watched a video where I flabbergasted the whole time. Your photos are absolutely incredible! After each shot that you've put in I was just like: this guy doesn't miss does he? And it kept getting better 😂 The video and the photos also hit hard because I'm trying for weeks now to emulate the film look with digital files and was almost content with what I came up with - but after this video I just realized all my colors are absolute shit 🤣🤣
Thanks so much dude! Glad you’ve stumbled across things haha! It’s pretty hard to miss out there to be honest pretty much everything in every direction is amazing 🤣. I’m sorry to have ruined your contentment with your digi emulations, to be honest though even film stuff struggles to get where the flextight scanners can take you so there is that as consolation haha! Hope to catch you around the comment section going forward!
I know it’s cliche, but DAMN that first waterfall shot (11:08). Great light depth and foreground, just a stunning shot Sheepskin! Thank you for showing us this beautiful country!
Thanks a ton Justin! It really was something to behold! I wouldn’t say it’s cliche to like at all, it is technically the more breathtaking scene and the scale of it truly was wild, thank you for enjoying and sharing the journey with me haha!
Man - beautiful pictures (the landscape obviously) what a trip!!
Cheers Hugo! Glad we’re of like minds on that one, and an honor to receive such praise from you!
The colors and those cosmos flowers, wow! I definitely agree that the landscape is the nicest picture you've shared 🤩This video inspired me to try for a bee photo on 4x5 at a local botanical garden!
Oooooh boy that’ll be tricky yet glorious!! In fact 4x5 sounds like a good reason to return there haha!
LETS GOOOOOO!!! IM HERE EARLY. Happy to see you Will 🤝
Nice to see you here at this early hour yung Kamari! Things in life feel right again ahah 😎 happy to see you too!!
loved the photos bro
Many thanks Shane! ✨
Watching from Austria, it's amazing to see such different and magical landscapes. Great video and I have to say it again, glad to have you back! ❤️
Thanks so much Sam! It’s wild how different the landscapes are even compared to where I’m from in Cape Town haha, was such a treat to be out there! I’ll also say again that it’s wonderful to be back haha!
What a beautiful place! Thanks for sharing Will. I loved the bee photo. It’s great to see places that are different from what one has experienced. I look forward to a forthcoming video with context as to why you were there 😀. As always, cheers! Have a great day!
Ahah that video is going to be so much fun, can’t wait to put it together! Thanks so much Justin, a pleasure to share things as always, I hope you have a glorious day too! Cheers
That landscape is incredible man, well done ✌🏼
Many thanks Hannes! So stoked with it, and it really was something else to behold!
I wonder if those twin peak mountains were the inspiration to the location of King Solomon's Mines?
Hmmm I’m not familiar with that, but I can very well see it inspiring a great many things and wonderful works of fiction haha!
@@willysheepskin 'Let him who comes follow the map, and climb the snow of Sheba's left breast till he comes to the nipple, on the north side of which is the great road Solomon made...''
Visit Motebong in Lesotho, you didn’t get to explore her Mountains.
Putting that on the list for next time now! I can only imagine how awesome that’ll be!
I was using Mamiya 645 -1000s and I am about to switch to Mamiya 7ii .
It’ll be a woooorld of difference!
Good golly I’ll have an A0 of that landscape please!
Iiiii’ll see what I can do ma’am
Bru, i’m worried about that TV set on the edge of that stand. 😅
Ahahah don’t worry, if it takes a tumble no tears shall be shed

Paaaaaaaaain 😎 I think your first comment streak is officially unbeatable ahaha, I mean the original one is still unbeaten but you’re pretty much on track again I reckon
@@willysheepskin just glad to have ya back!! n we genuinely enjoy the videos!!!
How do you make image look so soft but still very sharp?
There’s a lot of cosmos pretty much all over Southern Africa. They were brought here in contaminated horse feed during Anglo Boer war.
You need to get out of Cape Town and visit more of South Africa.
Ag ja no man but I just can’t be more than 15mins away from Tashas at any given moment which is why I’m so poorly traveled
@@willysheepskin yup the jhb born franchise got the cape tonians hooked.
