Amazing Spike Edit. He is absolutely one of my favorite characters. We have to acknowledge that Spike is the only character in the series that did not need any encouragement from someone else to do the right thing after his hurtful actions. He chooses to fight, to find his effulgent light himself after the bathroom scene because he knew it was wrong in the end. His love for Buffy and who he is at his core (William) kept him strong, enough to seek his soul and accept his penance. Accountability and the penance we place on ourselves after our choices will be ongoing and Spike will always hold on to that with his soul. For me, that is redemption. Yeah, they didn't fully address Seeing Red besides the discomfort of touch from Buffy in ep 2-4, the small discussion in ep 2, and the reference in ep 4. We should have seen Buffy at least mention her wanting privacy on the topic after that experience. However, I think the season 10 comic for Buffy did a great job in covering that conversation if it's any consolation.
Well, I think Spike is hands off the real hero and the best character ever created (aside from Buffy), so I don't agree with you, but the vid's really good, most of all because of the music choice. What a great cover.
post soul spike is pure of heart and driven by goodness, so yes your right. william is the perfect guy to fit buffys morals, and he's alot more good than willow, xander, angel and most of the scoobies lmao
Omg, this is so different from all the other spike edits. Minimal video effects but you just cant take your eyes off. So cool And the song is a great choice.
Beautiful edit, thanks for sharing! I love his vamp face, it's the sexiest vamp face in the history of vampires. Most vampires just look stupid, but I swear his vamp face is downright beautiful.
This video made me understand that when Cecile says "you’re beneath me" it resonates with Spike’s "from beneath you, it devours", Spike now being a vampire, crawling in the shadows and beneath, devouring from under if that makes sense. I feel so dumb not noticing it sooner.
This edit is incredible. Spike’s attempted SA of Buffy was so horrifying to him, still as a soulless vampire, that he went to actively get his soul back for Buffy. I understand how you feel but I think he more than redeemed himself in S7. This was beautifully done! Thank you!
god he is truly the greatest character ever made also you said "f that rapey Seeing Red episode and how it was not dealt with in s7" but it was? william didn't do it, spike regretted it so much that he would choose william the man he despises, the weak, loser poet who wasn't worthy of anything, over his current state, all because that man would never hurt buffy.
Btvs should have focused on the victim not on the baddie with the bad conscience. Highlighting the perpetrator's pain only makes him tragically sympathetic and the deed excusable. Her feelings, however, were brushed off by throwing her into new plotlines all the time. Sadly, this was yet another piece of conventional story-telling that we are all too well acquainted with in western culture and that makes it extra problematic in a tv show that wanted to teach us abt strong femininity.
@@GKViddingHD well spike was constantly hurting himself and hating on himself and beating himself up because he "hurt the girl" and "then said he got his soul back so he would be the kind of man who would never.." then tried zero romance with her because he didn't feel worthy, i think that's a form of a apology
@@Justinhulk That's a good start but what I mean is we did not get to hear the voice of the victim. The emotional "story-teller" (to us the audience) is Spike alone which is basically manipulation.
@@GKViddingHD Totally agree with how you feel about S7 failing to center the victim. They tiptoed around her perspective, and that makes the rest of their interactions toward the end feel contrived. It did make me curious about what I'd want to see from each character, and what therapists tell perpetrators who genuinely seek to make amends. Obviously, those are anomalies, but it was interesting to learn what that side of the fence (a very tall, very sturdy, very well armored fence) looks like.
He was a tortured poet before becoming the torture himself vampire. It would kinda explain the tortured romantic persona. Angelus tortured others to insanity..Spike mostly tortures himself through the entire series he's in. 🌹- Jennifer, Dylans' mom✌️😋
Интересно, где шлялась Истребительница тех лет , когда убивали Уильяма Пратта?Глядя на него, вспоминаю слова вампирши из другого фильма:"Где все вы были, когда пили мою кровь? "
Spike was the man..he was the champion that saved the town. Said it before.. Angel was cursed with his soul..Spike retrieved his purposely, saved the day by dying & fallowed Angel into his own series to torment him til he cried. William, 'the bloody' Spike is the better...vampire man. If not for her aversion to vampire lovers, Riley would've been the better guy for her. 😂- Jennifer, Dylans' mom🌹✌️😋

True, he is perhaps the best and most 3 dimensional character ever written for tv.

Glad to hear that, mate. Merci.
I am a simple man. I see fantastic recently made Buffy content, and I Like it.

Thank you! He always seems extra cheeky when he wears his wrinklies, I love it.
Great job. It's gritty, sad, gleeful, and a little bit terrifying.
What a beautiful summary thank you.

Yeah, I was following that idea in my video. Though I suspect by "beneath you it devours" the show producers simply meant the hellmouth.
This is truly awesome. I’ve never heard this cover before, and it’s perfect for Spike.
