Holy shit, that was dope. A swarm of bees just flying around a track, that's what that looked like, it was glorious. I also love how you can't even see the sky in that track and car, you just see banking and standings. Makes it really awesome

Well that was an embarrassing video debut on your channel (Richard here). In the Thursday race I actually got stuck in the wall, which I didn't think was possible. These things are easy (well relatively in the sense where I stop breathing for a minute like in both Bristol races) when there aren't a lot of cars on track, but with 15-20 cars? The sprint car races are crazyyyyy.
Don't know if you take suggestions but fixed Indy at Iowa this week is a blast of a car/track combo. Only trouble is finding a race where people aren't crashing left and right, I've had a couple, and I've also had a race that didn't have a single full green flag lap until around lap 25.
This is madness! Madnesss... THIS! IS! BRISTOL! You might well have won if Sir Lagsalot hadn't held you up, causing you to wear out your tires and then get freight trained.
what worked for me in the Sprint car was diamonding the corners and getting that power to dive bomb them comming off 2 and 4. Its a bit ballsy sometimes touching the apron.
Enjoyed watching this race. Though I didn't enjoy how I messed up at the start, going onto apron and then sliding back on track. Tried to keep it on apron, but... it's the unpredictable sprint car.
This is almost like F1 with the FW31, but without having to turn right, brake with precision and shift gears, and for only 10 minutes instead of 90. Ok, F1 is easy, this is crazy.
Can anybody recommend a good NASCAR or any other oval racing sim experience, besides Iracing ? I checked out Nascar 03, and I hate too say it, but it just seems to old. I'm not a graphics whore, I love the original FIA GT game which is from 2004 I think. I had VHR installed for Rfactor and I quite like the feel of it, but the AI prevents me from racing a long clean race. I'd love too see any suggestions you have :)
Hey @emptybox I just picked up iRacing and Im loving it even though I keep getting wrecked in the rookie class atm, but I cant seem to get force feedback, My wheel is a Thrust master T100 and comes with force feedback but when I go to turn it on in the settings I cant seem to do that ? any ideas ?
+jamiecp1 FYI - I don't think the MAC client is officially supported any more. I would consider investing in a PC for iRacing. Even a moderate one (700$ CDN can handle the game with absolutely no problems).
+Ep1o It's not about grip, it's called stagger. Well, it's tangentially related to grip. Having a larger diameter tire on the outside of an oval car does two things, it puts more weight on the left side of the car, helping it turn left, and the smaller tires complete a revolution in slightly less time than the larger ones. This pulls the car slightly to the left. Visualize a plastic cup on its side. Push that cup and instead of the cup traveling in a straight line away from the application of force, it instead will rotate around the smaller end, forming a circle. This is stagger at work.
Can somebody help me im stuck, ive spent ages looking on iRacing's page but i can't for the life of me find my safety rating spent all day in carbureta cup thinking it would advance my oval rating which it didn't lol can any one help me before i go insane?
+Killeralpha16 considering there is an average of a forum thread each week complaining about no dirt, yea - iRacing knows very well how popular dirt racing is.
+Spagghetii Yup, both winged and non winged. At my local track (a pretty much flat .5 mile paved oval) the winged cars do laps in the 14s when they are here. The track has like 10 degrees of banking. Stupid fast and incredibly impressive to see on pavement as well as dirt!
This entire race needed "Yakety Sax" from the Benny Hill Show playing as accompaniment.

Empty Box: Turn 4 is going to be the trouble spot... (Hit's wall in turn 2 twice)
This would make my blood pressure go through the roof, and I'm only 23.
Is it just me or did it seem like #17 was purposely trying to hold you up?
+Sai Namuduri Nah, I don't think so. Just the netcode making it hard to predict wherever he was.
My brother was wondering why I was watching a video while leaning to the left. I showed him this.

I really wish these cars were available in other sims for use in a single player mode. They look like an amazing amount of fun
This is madness!
Madnesss... THIS! IS! BRISTOL!

That was quick. At least I finally know why it's called a sprint car.
The short track for people who don't like short tracks.

That is complete insanity. I love it.
You just sold me this serie
He-he, I don't blame ya for the "Mute Job" running these Car's.....Their just Awesome.......
I was there both years for the World of Outlaws on the dirt @ Bristol!!! & they were FAST!!!!
God, sprint cars are like "drag race-try not to crash-drag race-try not to crash" over and over again
+Sam Stoner actually, it's the going straight part that is the hardest bit!
+Empty Box Do the cars want to turn left?
john carl Yes
In Dirt To Daytona, the Cup cars literally go that fast round Bristol but the lap times are a bit slower.
that was insaine but so much fun to watch! i can only imagine racing it!!!!!
Awh D: dirt track Sprint Cars are the most fun
Damn that was intense, you need to try it again, that 17 car really slowed you down.
Enjoyed watching this race. Though I didn't enjoy how I messed up at the start, going onto apron and then sliding back on track. Tried to keep it on apron, but... it's the unpredictable sprint car.
I do not play this game, but this was exciting! Good Job!! That does look like fun!
Sprint cars in Australia are done on dirt tracks which are heaps fun (not fun to watch) as you get sprayed with dirt all the time lol
+RooBoy Hiphop They are typically run on dirt tracks here as well, both with and without wings.
insane to image how they handle these beast in real life.
11:50 lol
Nice recovery man!
I think a caution with about 15 to go would have helped you, seemed like enough cars were a lap or more down to make a pit stop under yellow pay off
This is almost like F1 with the FW31, but without having to turn right, brake with precision and shift gears, and for only 10 minutes instead of 90.
Ok, F1 is easy, this is crazy.
I was planning on racing this race, but it's a B Class race; I'm only C Class right now... So I worked on my MPR instead. :)
Man possessed right there
why are the ride side tires thicker?
Shit that was over so quick I didn't have my morning ice cream.
+Ryan G Of course, you would be the type of person to have "morning ice cream". lol
Whaaaat. I work nights so it's like my evening. Also I didn't have any cause somebody ate my Ben and Jerrys 300%MAD
It's a short race but you have to concentrate so hard!
Lapse of concentration means the wall or death? Sounds like Watkins Glen in C Fixed...
Nonsense, that is childs play unless you are an oval only guy.

How to move the hud ?

Do you have the drivers and stuff from the Thrustmaster site?
Oh probably need those, Im on a mac, will that work do you reckon ?
+jamiecp1 dont no anything about mac. but if you go to the iracing forum theres a thread for mac users
thanks man :) I will take a look
+jamiecp1 FYI - I don't think the MAC client is officially supported any more. I would consider investing in a PC for iRacing. Even a moderate one (700$ CDN can handle the game with absolutely no problems).
Your videos helped me.
+Not Interested Stay high, stay high.
At lap 35 I was close to puking, I shit you not.
When people lag in iracing
Why is the right rear wheel so much bigger than the left? I don't know anything about Sprint cars.
+deceivingthedeceiver Since the track is almost a complete circle and the whole thing is angled you want as much grip on the right most wheels.
+Ep1o It's not about grip, it's called stagger. Well, it's tangentially related to grip. My uncles Friend has on of these and races on his own track
I wonder what Indycars would be like here.
+HailHydra In fact the indycars raced here during Week 13. Intense and fun, but then everyone died.
wonder if they would ever do sprint at gateway.
+Minamitsu Murasa That's more for the Silver Crown, that's for tracks primarily over a mile, the Sprint Car is more for tracks a mile or less.
you shoud do a strem
These cars at IRP aka ORP, please!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaay late in the gas coming through the turns.
Can somebody help me im stuck, ive spent ages looking on iRacing's page but i can't for the life of me find my safety rating spent all day in carbureta cup thinking it would advance my oval rating which it didn't lol can any one help me before i go insane?
+Counter Russianstrike Carb Cup doesn't help with SR...it's for fun only.
ASSETTO CORSA 1.3 VIDEO NOW!!! DEMANDS!
They race these on pavement?!?
But in real life? sprint cars out of the dirt seems strange and scary...
+Killeralpha16 considering there is an average of a forum thread each week complaining about no dirt, yea - iRacing knows very well how popular dirt racing is.

they actually want to do it, but there are priorities first when the pavement racing still has so many issues.
Shit, too early xD
