From what we know, Jay has spent a specific amount of time studying/supervising/maybe even writing scripts. If you spend time around something, you start adapting to it. If you read a lot of Shakespeare, I can assure you that your speech is going to change, and I say this as someone who does read a lot of Shakespeare - I dramatise things much more than I used to. Back in the day, the movies people grew up with weren't inherently bad, neither was the acting, but it was more generic: the " We have to leave! Run!" tactic was quite frequently used to build up more tension and irritation to a dramatic, horrific or action-filled scene - running away from something you know nothing about. If Jay grew up with this, and since he willingly became Alex's script supervisor I'm assuming he must have/had some sort of interest regarding this, I'm not surprised it's his automatic response in this situation. While I'm sure that this is just a case of slightly issued (bad) writing, with a little more interpretation, it's actually pretty insightful on Jay's character.

When Alex was talking about the woods area and the criminals they used to string up, he mentioned that they used to get stretched out. It made me think of how tall the operator was described and shown to be. Just a thought 😀

Nah,because a lot of people thought that this could be an origin story, the creators confirmed it was not meant to be.
1:52:40 I'm pretty sure the girls that stabbed her were diagnosed with schizophrenia after it happened. So apparently their motive wasn't just cus they were reading story's off the Internet, it was because the story's had freaked them out and they started actually seeing slenderman and were scared he was going to hurt them or their family's and its unfortunate that they didn't get diagnosed till after it happened because if people had picked up on their symptoms earlier on the whole event could've been avoided

i remember first watching MH back when i was in elementary school, i genuinely thought it was real at the time (granted i thought all creepypasta was so it wasn't hard to do). it still holds a special place in my heart after all these years, i've got all the discs and the comic books over the years :]

After Marble Hornets, if you want another analog horror/Slender man series, I'd recommend TribeTwelve. It starts off as a tribute to Marble Hornets, but later becomes it's own thing. Also, another thing. The series was actually cancelled, due to the creator doing some stuff that I'm not to sure about, but was bad. So the series is unfinished.

There were allegations towards Adam (the creator of TribeTwelve) for being a creep to young girls. :/
His acting can be a little cringe sometimes but the visuals & concept were very good.
EverymanHYBRID has a very slow start though and some videos may not make sense for new viewers because their Twitter was involved with their ARG.
Edit: Turns out other stuff outside of Twitter & UA-cam were involved in the ARG, so.. that could confuse anyone who will only watch the videos. And one of the characters even made a separate channel relating to EMH.

Second one actually involved The old cast, but the game devs threw away creators story and didn't listen to the creators. And when the game came out Alex and Jay were mad at them

@ashnotlvjy it originated in a forum called something awful. But it was very vague and had barely any details. Then came the show Marble Hornets. Although Slenderman was called The Operator there, it's where 90% of the stuff for Slenderman, including the idea and design for pages comes from. It is a youtube found footage style videos. Then came the game. The game was created by fans of the youtube channel and the second one was actually supposed to be written by the crew of MH. But the story was tossed out and there was a lot of things wrong with the production of the second one.

as somebody who was literally part of this back in the day when the season 1 hiatus was ongoing, i remember the panic that we were in when the stabbing happened knowing that people were going to scrape all of our data in the aftermath

I've been into this series + other slenderverse args for going on 4 years now so it's awesome to see you reacting to one of my favourites!! If you're looking for another series after this I can't recommend EverymanHYBRID highly enough!! The acting, plot, production, it's just all incredible. It's probably my overall favourite arg!

So, by the looks of things, both chat and the comments haven't been telling Jack about short cuts. If you are looking for something that goes frame by frame, then .25x speed won't work
Using (I believe) '.' And ',' will skip backwards and forwards between frames
This will only worked when paused though
Edit: I'm not gonna bother deleting this incase someone finds this useful, but it turns out Jack was using the frame skips, the stuff went by so fast I thought he wasn't
I just recently learned that you can go frame by frame with the arrow keys it helps so much

I agree with his theory about why we're afraid of things like analog horror, but I think that our brains are hardwired to be afraid of things that seem abnormal. We're afraid of strange, uncanny, distorted faces because our brains are hooked up in a way that we are naturally afraid of them. It's sort of a primal fear, I guess. So, people are typically frightened by uncanny images of things that seem familiar, whether it be elongated limbs and/or appendages or just a face that seems slightly off. Some things I have noticed so far 1:20:40 near there that hoodie barley made distortion to the camera. Tim makes a lot at some points. Operator/slender man makes a lot if it’s very close like a couple feet away. When they cause the most distortion is when they are visible on camera or are noticed by the person recording

This feels very special to me. When I watched MH the first time I did't even knew english so I had to watch with translation. I benched it in one week and was fascinated by the universe, although I didn't understood it fully. Now watching thees vods, seeing someone discovering it for the fist time and getting to know more ab it just warms my heart

I think it’s just me but every time I watch these vods/streams, I get really sleepy for some reason. And it’s not like it’s 12am when watching, it’s usually midday. I’m actually having to rewatch this cause I fell asleep mid-stream when it was live. Weird stuff :/
only an hour in so im not sure if he thought of this but THEORY TIME: We all know that the Operator is really tall, right? And how when Jay met up with Alex the first time, and Alex was leading him through the woods, he mentioned criminals getting tied to trees and slowly stretched out. What if the Operator was one of those people, but he survived, and has taken the liberty to lurk in those woods? ALSO im only where jack is up too, so if anyone does see this - please don't spoil future episodes!

I’ve seen the series but this is speculation based purely in what Jack has watched by the end of this video:
I was thinking maybe the clearing where Jay drops the camera is the area where the people were burned. There aren’t many trees, and the few that are there have stone/bricks around them. I was thinking maybe the Operator came about because of the kid that was murdered there, or maybe that’s what unleashed him, and the sickness is sort of out of his control and just something that spreads to people who are exposed to him. Like a curse brought on by all the evil in the area.

i'm late, but the creators of marble hornets confirmed that's not the operators backstory and they regret adding it because a lot of people took it that way.
similar to the person jack talked about who saw a lot of numbers as shapes and colors and textures, i see a few numbers in a similar way. no colors or texture and it is in no way as many numbers as that person, but some numbers do have a shape that can merge with others. ive tried drawing them before but i struggle to give it a physical form
I am SO EXCITED that a more recent UA-camr is starting to take notice of Marble Hornets-it's INCREDIBLY well done and I'm so excited that it could possibly be brought back into the spotlight!! I'd Highly recommend EverymanHybrid after this-there's definitely come chaotic energy there I think you'd enjoy-!

Yeah same, i once had this dream when i was young that i was trying to put a disc into my xbox 360 and it kept popping out, not sliding out the disc input, just being thrown out, like the xbox was sentient and was fed up with my shit, i still remember it to this day
What I'm getting from this video is that when totheark says you will lead me to the ark I think who ever totheark is they set up Jay to keep investigating the operator and what not so they can get th information and get to "the ark" before anyone else
one time i accidentally stayed up all night cause i was hallucinating the wii u beeping like it does when it's diconnected, even though it wasn't on. The beeping only got worse the more annoyed i got about it, it was so realistic i even checked it several times to make sure it wasn't on.

The thing about EMH is that it’s not super streamable. It’s eight thousand hours long and requires reading blogs and watching multi-hour long streams. And Tribe Twelve ended incomplete.
As a huge fan of MH, im really mad when see videos like 'Real slenderman sight on camera', but instead they use footage from MH series, wich is not real, and there's no credit. I'm glad that now MH getting some attention

at 1:51:42 when Jack was talking about the slenderman st@abbing it reminded me that i was into creepypasta when that happened and I suffer from hallucinations which can be kinda violent at times (im getting help tho!) and when I heard about that i was horrified because my hallucinations had just started so I had to take a step back for 2 years before I could go back to my creepypasta phase/obsession I thought stepping away would fix the problem but it didnt they actually got worse when I stopped watching creepypasta which im guessing is bc watching it helped me realize it was fake and to act on it was wrong but who knows! just wanted to share my thoughts about it! im very happy that girl survived and ive seen the interrogation of the girls who did it and the one who actually "planned it" i think was so emotionally checked out while the other seemed like she felt immense guilt.
I think it’s ironic that Tim’s backstory is that the adults around him didn’t know how to handle him, and so later in life he ends up hurting people. Almost the exact thing that happened in real life.

I'm beginning to believe distortion is based on how much they want to hurt Jay... The Operator causes much distortion because he quite obviously want Jay on his side, Tim (Masky) causes medium level distortion because he once knew Jay and Hoodie causes slight distortion because he most likely does not want to hurt Jay... Hoodie might also be Alex.... all the evidence is there but I don't want to waste your time so you can go find the evidence.. (timestamp of when I realized all this: 1:20:15 !:@):!%)

I haven’t watched marble hornets yet, I’ve only watched this series of it so this is just a theory, but
maybe the reason Alex told jay about the people being hung up in the forest in an attempt to stretch them is possibly because slenderman maybe got hung up there for something he did and they forgot to burn the tree, causing his dead body to stretch to the height he is now and maybe he eventually became conscious again because horror reasons?
