Condo installed new MAU in April. for several weeks unit make recurring sound like timpany drum. Sometimes for several days. It stopped in summer and started again in October. What could this be?
I know very little about HVAC but i just bought a building so im trying to learn. I run a wood finishing business with several paint booths. I have a quote from a HVAC company that only has RTU on it no air make up. Do they do they same thing?
Hi Sir, I'm new to your channel. Thanks for your explanation. It really helps my ongoing project. I would like to know if tenant rooms using VRV units will need makeup air inside that room or just in the hallways to replace the exhaust air on the tenant rooms? I hope you consider my questions, I will really appreciate it. Thanks.
Question: Do MAUs always provide heat or are they generally considered heaters? (Example: Captive Aire modular direct gas fired heater/make-up air unit) Or do they provide cooling (DX) or chilled water cooling in other applications? Just thinking about warm climates or hot summers. It doesn't make sense to me to have heated make-up air during summer or in hot climates. Can you explain? Thanks! Appreciate the video!
@@HVACKnowItAll So MAUs temper air only if it needs it? If the air is already hot and arid it would sense that and not fire the burners? I was just wondering if they would also cool a space if necessary and can they be configured to do so. Thanks for the discussion.
Thanks for the explanation Gary 👍
My pleasure
Great explanation mate!
I like that fan! 😁

No they are different, make up air unit provide 100% outside air, rtu circulate building air for heating and cooling.
@@HVACKnowItAll thank you! If im pulling over 38k cfm the 4 RTUs @ 7.5 tons would not supply enough air? Im assuming?
@@thefinisher0926 you shouldn't run paint booths with rtus period

Their job is to temper the air to 70⁰F for example. Not to heat the space
