I think the reason for Toga is because deep down she doesn't want to destroy everything, she just wants to live freely with the people she loves, so she isn't able to connect to Shiggy and Dabi as much as she can with Twice
I always assumed it was because of too many levels of abstraction, where if toga became them directly she could use their quirks but because she's using double to make doubles of herself as twice who then make doubles of her friends (who she might not have accurate data of) means they can't use their quirks
Imagine seeing a mentor figure that you love and respect brutally perishes right before your very eyes, only for that to be revealed to be an illusion with a gorgeous face. You would likely make the same face of pure shock. But yes, All for One merely adapted the dark. Dark Shadow however, was born from it. Molded by it.

If I’m being honest, I think Camie could actually stand a big chance against All for One if she played her cards right.* *One of the biggest highlights for me is whenever unique quirks are featured since they’re always really cool to think about.*

Minor nitpick but in Shigaraki's monologue the anime tweaked one line. In the anime it says something like "There's only one thing I want.... to destroy everything connected to that house." but in the manga it's "As both Tomura Shigaraki and Tenko Shimura, I've got just one hope... The destruction of everything stemming from that house." and personally I feel like him going out the way to highlight both his identities is quite important to demonstrate that the line between Tenko and Shigaraki are more blurred than we might initially be lead to believe. It's my second favourite Shigaraki moment so I'm probably just picking it apart more than I should.
I still got that impression through the visualization of the scene itself and by saying I instead of naming Tenko I get the impression they are both the same person. As supposed to naming tenko and shigaraki it gives off the impression that they are two different people who have similar goals.
Hype as it is seeing that EVERYONE IS HERE, most hyped that Shiggy returns to take his due spot on the stage for the finale. "Oh don't worry, lil Tenko was in there alright, and he wants to kill ALL OF YOU."
This episode got me really hype because right before I watched the episode I was wondering where Inasa and the hair quirk guy from Shiketsu were. They in my mind had the most ideal quirk to deal with all of the Twices. Especially because the more clones there are, the less durable they become.
AFO constantly talks about how everything is going according to his plan. But this episode just proves how much that isn't true. AFO says that Shigaraki wasn't even supposed to still exist. He was supposed to be fully absorbed by AFO and that was supposed to be the end of it. But Shigaraki's willpower and drive was so strong that he's literally been holding onto himself for months all while resisting AFO. Tenko understands that AFO manipulated him and he rejects everything AFO stands for. He even says he doesn't need or want to steal OFA. The world that exists around them is what what created Tomura. All of those adults ignoring a crying child on the streets. The over reliance on heroes. Everything about hero society created the existence of Tenko's house. That's why he wants to destroy everything connected to it. And build a new world for his friends who were also rejected in their own ways by others. Side note: I love how Toga says she loves both Touya and Tomura but doesn't include AFO in the equation. She fully expected to not be able to copy his quirk because she doesn't know him like that. She respects Tomura as her leader. Not AFO. Which makes the situation of her not being able to copy Shigaraki and Dabi's quirks even sadder.
Togas ability is based on how much she loves someone which allows her to use their powers as well. Right now she is consumed with hatred and just the goal of killing everyone. She couldn't care less about the rest anymore including afo, shiga and touya, just her goal of avenging bubaigawaras death who's the only person who genuinely showed her love. I think that's why her ability to copy others powers was blocked while she can still use twice's. She only like afo, touya and shiga but not love them enough because she realized how muchthey don't care about her as well imo.
I know you guys aren't watching the opening until the end of the season but the opening this episode was different in the middle of it so just a reminder there are 2 versions of it now.
I feel like there were multiple new music tracks in this episode.... Yuki Hayashi must be cooking up some heat for MHA. Makes me hope for a bunch of the scenes for the rest of the arc getting new music.
Alright we continue the process of finding EVERYONE in the entire story and having them happily jump into a dual to the death with the devil himself. Start off with the quelled riot that Shoji managed to stop and people trying to pick everyone hurt up. And Lady Nagant practically crawling her way to the roof of the hospital to help ANYTHING. The doctor doesn’t want to say that she’s not a hero anymore. She doesn’t get the trust that she once received as her days working as the public safety commission hero. But because she’s crawling not for HER sake but for Izuku Midoriya, that’s all Rocklock needs to hear. He saw Izuku’s ambition and contagious drive at the Overhaul raid, and he promised to put his faith in him. And saw it extended beyond human comprehension in the 1st war against Shigaraki. He’s done a pretty bad job supporting his willpower across the show because his overprotective father side wins out seeing a kid go and do the unthinkable. This time he can’t repeat that. She was convinced by Izuku and knows that it’s as real as he is. And lets Lady Nagant take action. And she combines her high arc bullets and armor piercing shots to make 3 UNREAL LEVEL perfect shots. Now because she has both of these types of bullets she can make, no knowledge how much she can arc how precisely, the only thing that seems to be a myth in her crazy power is her range because how long it took for these bullets to reach their target or any of that remains unknown. Snipe was the one that made the feat claim of Lady Nagant after all and most of her work was NOT public. And after she makes each shot in betrayal of AFO her wounds reopen. (Makes you wonder how that self destruct trap quirk works) AFO shouts about how she’s just pretending to be a hero as he tries to retake command of Shigaraki…but Shigaraki overpowers him in an instant just as AFO did to him. He found his opening. (This theme is OUTSTANDING) Shigaraki unveils his plan to keep his individuality to AFO. Recognizing AFO’s plan and knowing there’s nothing he could do at 1st anyway. He had to find the feelings with the most strength. The ones AFO sought to use on OFA. And instead used it on AFO when the time was ripe. He won’t change his mind. He’s accepted other people will, but he will stay the course from Season 5 when his memories awakened. Gain power, and destroy all that connected to the home that brought him to ruin. And Deku sees his pain and wants to help find him his salvation humanely. The Gentleman Hero is reaching the limit of his elasticity and accepts that even with his unending drive to be found, remembered, and above all appreciated, he won’t get any of it. This isn’t on UA-cam after all. And then the Business Course and La Brava shout no we are doing that and a live stream. (MORE fantastic music!) Kurogiri is cracked between his programming and Shirakumo once more, and he cant even follow orders from the one he’s DESIGNED to take them from. And is deciding what to do. Twice is deeply endangering Aizawa and Mic. But Aizawa is easily the worst thing for Shigaraki to deal with when EVERY QUIRK he uses from within AFO’s stockpile puts him ahead of Deku regardless of experience for many. And he swallows his friends. Either to protect or to shift the battle even more. AFO FINALLY lets us know what his true purpose on this battlefield is. AFO wanted to make Shigaraki but another submissive vestige that is a passing dream. And that’s not what has happened to AFS. So he’s going to give him EVERY quirk he has to refuel him, AND to overpower Shigaraki once and for all so he can be AFO with a new body. And he stops playing with Hawks bringing out the same spatial distortion the High End named Robot had and used on Mirko’s arm in season 6. And effortlessly ends the #2 hero right in front of Tokoyami. Or it would be the case if Shiketsu didn’t just arrive in the scene! Camie, Shishikura, and my BOY Inasa Yoarashi are here! If EVERY Shiketsu student has arrived on scene, that is 120 kids combining their powers to do battle with AFO and his forces. (Class 1, 2, and 3 of A and B) Giving EVERYTHING they have to mitigate this scene. Shishikura wants to avenge his dad, the guard in the prison break episode who called the villains completely inhuman and making everyone on edge. And Inasa just…100% being in my top 5 students as he whips around THOUSANDS of Twice clones with no drawback with all the hype of his contemporary history class. AFO’s answer? Combine more quirks. Effortlessly matching EVERYONE that entered the fray AT ONCE, and he just says no you genuinely have NO CONCEPT of how strong I am. My era was over before you were born. There are no witnesses to my maximum, I have EVERYTHING. And you don’t even have Endeavor that can beat me BEFORE the rewind. The one who tried to surpass the one I was dead even with, and HE had no idea. And with all of these quirks at once going? Only 1 is a note to steal for his collection. Whirlwind. The solution? Have Inasa get MORE wind to work with, (the ONLY limitation I’ve found. Wind availability across the entire atmosphere nearby apparently) and send a kaiju. Dark Shadow is PERFECT to face AFO. A combination AFO can’t touch, and has to address. And of course there’s Toga coming to terms she might actually have NO CONCEPT of affection with her quirk. She’s confused, hurt, and might not have the emotional control to use Double to its fullest. No decay, no cremation, and no AFO successful copies. Also revealing how strong Twice was to so thoroughly know all of their personalities without losing track to maintain his incredibly diverse quirk. And without that, Toga can ACTUALLY be overpowered. And with this discovery, Uraraka, Tsu, and Jiro spot her thinking the same thoughts. We are STILL getting more complex. As any final battle should.
@@Kaempfdog there's a team up mission where camie calls todoroki and bakugo to help practice her quirk and come up with a new move. They just give the phone to deku, and she makes a bunch of doppelvibers of different 1A students based on description alone. She ends up coming up with a new move, which is a nightmare fuel illusion of all the students into one Cronenberg monster. She got the idea from Shishikura.
My favorite little detail from this is that Shiketsu was on stand by to protect the evacuees. But since the evacuess never came because of Skeptic, they joined the battle themselves. So Skeptics W of stopping the evacuation blocks circled back around to being an L.
I remember this chapter. Love seeing cami fingey guy and Inasa just casually taking on toga and Afo. Another honorary todoroki in the main battle I was surprised afo just stopped to f with hawks while his lottery ticket is getting stolen under his feet. Authors version of hero feels more star warsy than actual superheroing. Fine you want to save a supervillain from himself, but the millions of innocent japanese civilians?, Who'll think about them hero? Lucky us Shiketsu in the West showed up with actual guns to take these lunatics out. Love no 12 hero shishido talking back to afo.
