    Does synthetic cells contain mitochondria?
    If not, is it possible to introduce the powerhouse of the cell into the synthetic cell?

      Then what happens if extracellular ATP signaling is induced? Are there surrounding cells that express p2x or p2y receptors?

      Mitochondria organelles contain their own genome, it's likely descended from a far flung ancestor of ricketts bacteria that adapted to a symbiotic relationship in animal cells.
      I'd be interested in finding out if mitochondria could be replaced or augmented with synthetic organelle to serve the same function more efficiently.

    Great information, great animation. It would be wonderful to learn more about the artificial assembling process.

    Thumbs up. I exactly though same, building to understand.

    It would be great if you can observe the human cell functions in space.
    and if it affects ATP production!

    Have we finally settled on: viruses aren't life?

    Interesting. Not clear to me how building a synthetic cell informs us as to how a natural cell is built.
    The synthetic cell shows one possible way.

      Yes but the whole point of this is research. It's a start, thats how most things we have today in science and Tech came to be. From research and study.

    • @mnomadvfx
      @mnomadvfx 2 роки тому

      @@fatelis It also informs us on better ways to construct tech too.
      Bio mimetic design is a huge treasure trove for mankind to tap.
      Such a shame that we've already caused the extinction of so many species that could have bettered our own understanding of the world - it would be ironic if one of them had been the key to immortality 😑.
