When a car is self driving and wants your hand on the wheel you don't have to out both hands at 10 and 2. whats the point of it if you're not relaxing. If youre going to put your hands in driving position you might as well just drive. usually one hand at the bottom of the wheel will suffice to keep the systems happy.
Large 4 seat Grand Tourer that should be capable of trans-continental in speed and grace and it can only do 260 miles before you have to stop and sit around while it recharges. Welcome back to the days of horse and cart journey times and it's only going to cost half a million...
coupe that longer that full size SUV. turn signal there a rele, metal parts similar like in analog maybe same, it is old ones they were in car industry till semiconductor modern came. Buy bonus - good day with Rolls Royce.
@MilesPerHr, nice car overall with the exterior styling & color as well as interior although I've never cared for the "lightshow overhead." As much as I enjoy "space-related things", I'd rather view a real "starry night sky" so give me a glass roof I can open instead! Never understood why in such expensive vehicles they'd rather put "a fiber optic headliner" in it over a glass roof when they're common in vehicles less than a tenth the cost.... Beyond that I'd much rather have 8, 10, 12 or 16 cylinders under the hood!
It's always confused me that big luxury cars like this haven't become EVs yet. They're already enormous and heavy, so the added weight from batteries is no issue, the buyers really aren't price sensitive and an EV markup makes no real difference. Cars like these are bought for their smoothness, silence and luxury which feel like exactly what EVs do best. As for range, these don't often drive long distance, there are jets for longer travel. These will largely be driven in city centres, with occasional short trips out of time. Beyond this coupe, when they do a proper EV Phantom that'll matter even less since they tend to be chauffeur driven between meetings and to/from airports - not 8 hour road trips
I would have been like, “y’know how much this car costs? It’s a Rolls Royce look it up. It costs more than you’ll make in 40 years working this paltry job. Peasant.” I then drive away feeling very full of myself. Once home, I walk into the living room where my dog immediately starts defecating on the carpet at the sight of me.
Wonderful car, but one small mention. As a Rolls Royce Spectre owner, you do not have to take your Tennis ball machine with you, you have your own tennis court at home.
I really like " what its like to live with" videos. I would like too see one of these with Lamborghini Urus and Rolls Royce Cullinan.❤ these videos are superb💪
A very good first entry into the world of EV's, however, my opinion is that the Spectre, for the amount of money people spend on these cars, real world range should be easily at the 350 mile mark. I think that Rolls will definitely be put under pressure in the near future to have class leading range across any and all EV's they build. Argue all you want, but for a car that costs upwards of 350k, 266 miles on a good day just doesn't cut it for me.
I don't like EVs. However, if there's ONE vehicle that I firmly believe EV works for, it'll be the Rolls Royce. Any model tbh. It makes sense. Whisper quiet, smooth power delivery - everything that encompasses what an RR is.
Wow have you treated rental cars? This is a car with admittedly precious materials inside and it has been driven by people that don’t own the car…most beat on press cars like rented mules
15:25 you might want to throw on a safety belt on that bad boy, big dog. Anyway, great video! The subtle aristocratic jokes are as good as the car-top tier! 😂❤
I like how on the highway people with bad insurance slowed down to not hit it because they would be living in a tent if they did hit it.... I always had full coverage insurance maxed out just in case I did hit anything then I went down to basic one time,... that is when I hit something back in 2018... never again will I do that in the worse place to drive ATL.... were you need a dash-cam becasue everyone here lies or even hit and run or call family to lie for them....LOL
Have you ever considered reviewing older cars? I know it may be a stretch but I’d love to see a night review of something like a C6 Z06 or any other cool 2000s/2010s car
I've done a couple, but it's just tougher to nail those down. The automakers give me the new vehicles for several days and I can film them however I'd like. Older cars are typically the dailies or otherwise have a curfew. It can happen, it just doesn't happen much.
Well Miles, you could pass for the upper class - except your camera-hat gives you away! This could be the only Rolls-Royce Spectre that had to endure a day in the life of the working class. Wonder if the other more pampered Spectres will be jealous as they sit in their premium garage spaces with all needs handled in temperature-controlled splendor? "Who says a Rolls-Royce can't be practical?" as he sits in an interior surrounded by acres of genuine wood trim. I can just hear the Grand Cherokee at night, "stay on your Side!". 🤣👍👍
Even if I had all the money to buy a Rolls Royce I’ll definitely buy something else. This just for personal preference in design and because there are other brands that offer so much confort with +100.000€ less.
17:20 this dude said 36 minutes!!!! dude....what I'm supposed to do for thirty six minutes! I could be making $156.85 per minute if it wasn't for these lousy kids!!!
Um, Blink is not a "small off-brand" charger. They have over 51,000 charging stations and half a BILLION dollars in assets and do almost 100 million dollars a year in revenue. That's small to you? I'd hate to see what "big" is. 😂
I own a Nissan Qashqai Tekna+. It has all the features virtually of the Rolls-Royce Spectre. Including the massaging heated Napa leather seats and heated steering wheel. I don’t need to plug it in at night and has arranged of over 400 miles on a tank of petrol. It is quiet and comfortable for an SUV. £37,000, is a lot more affordable and a lot less stressful to drive. Maybe if you have money to burn the Rolls-Royce Specter would be worth having though. 🙂
i can't imagine a more impracticable vehicle for a young middle class family. shoehorned into ridiculous tract townhome absurdity. one must first choose a proper home for a Rolls Royce. 410 trousdale pl beverly hills, a futuristic fortress befitting this cutting edge car. or perhaps a classic equestrian shabby chic estate, 60 piping rock road glen head ny.
Public charge stations are a ridiculous nightmare for everyone. If it has an empty space, chances are the charger is out of service. You have to wait much much longer in line at to few charging stations to get to use a charger that works. And after all that you hope it will charge at you car's ability. After 80 percent charge up the charge rate slow down a lot. The EPA range is bull if really only charge the car to 80 percent. 80% of 235 EPA range is only 188 miles. Not a car for road trips. Again ridiculous. All electric cars are a scam.
60 seconds in the charger is on the vehicle not external oh boy I know how this will go no technical data at all just some dude spouting about opulence...
I think Rolls Royce is made for either older and/or dignitaries. 0-60 is more important to me than how quiet the cabin might be. No automatic charge port closer?
RR must be mortified that such a chav is behind the wheel 😱… oh, and just so you know, the average RR owner has 10-cars so driveway access isn’t a design concern! 😂
you spent half a million dollars on a car, but you live in a regular ole track house!!!!!! you do not make me want to buy one of these, very annoying....the car is rather impractical, not even 250 miles on a full charge, 36 minutes to get an 80% charge, thats a lot longer than filling up with fuel, and have the mileage for the time
This might come across as very offensive to some, but the rear of the Spectre sort of makes me think of down syndrome. I absolutely love this car, but I am not that impressive with the rear. Thanks for the video! And thanks for being so polite at the drive-through.
A beautiful car that suffers the same issues as other electric cars. Distance driving, which is what this car is made for, is curtailed by the appalling global charging network!
You should be driving in the right hand lane unless you’re overtaking someone. There were times where the right hand lane was completely empty but you were hogging the overtaking lane.
At 10 years old, while waiting for the bus to go home, a RR stopped in front of my friend and I at a red light. I told my friend wow a Rolls Royce!!! The lady driver opened the door and invited us to hop on. She dropped us in at my house, genuinely kind and classy. I knew then I would get my own one day. ❤
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER TO MAKE THIS CAR A HYBRID LIKE PRIUS, I AM 68 AND I WOULD NOT BUY AN ELECTRIC ONLY CAR BECAUSE I WOULD BE SCARED I WOULD RUN OUT OF ELECTRIC AND THE CHARGING HASSELS
I'll be completely honest. I'm impressed by Rolls' first foray into an all electric car. That being said, if I ever have the money to purchase something of this caliber, I think I'd rather purchase a Wraith. Wood on the dash sorta looks ... bad and mismatched with the door panels. Not ragging on it, just noticing a difference.

Such a great video, do you get enough thigh and shoulder support? Would these seats be more comfortable than the ghost or cullinan seats?

Love these real, everyday videos. No offense the car doesn't look fancy anymore in your normal neighborhood. Look just any normal EV car
It does to me because it looks much more comfortable than even other modern luxury cars
Bro listed all the features that can comes in Honda Accord 💀
That car is worth as much as your house

It bothers me they used the same cut of wood on the bottom of the steering wheel as the sides. There. Now you have to live with that thought.

People who can afford buying such a vehicle are not confound to such small parking places, so your complaints here are absurd.
So sad with the digital gagecluster. I prefer analog. Digital makes the Rolls Royce look extremely cheap.
The space between the bush and the garage. Typical Rolls Royce situation, considering there is a stroller involved.

200 miles range is “enough”? That’s not even a 3 hour drive… 🤔😕👎🏻
the opening direction of the door is actually very not practical in tight spaces and not intuitive. There is a reason why others don't do these doors
Wow the charge port doesn’t even automatically close when you unplug the cable? That is some massive peasant energy right there.
