    Excellent training video, and excellent videography! I bought one of these for $48, free shipping. One of the features in the manual is the "Follow" function, where, when set, configures channel 2 simultaneously with channel 1.

    Aside from being a great product for the price. You basically just made a video manual for the thing. I love purchasing something and being able to use it right out of the box. That's what you just provided. Thanks. As always, excellent videos and quality explanations. Thank you kindly for sharing.

      I thought the same also. :-) The width could not really be made smaller, but the length could have been 3" shorter. The only problem is, you would not be able to tilt the unit upwards and have good stability.

      You would need 3 batteries because the source inside (SMPS) gives 3 voltages...

      I wonder if it helps reduce the noise from a switching power supply? Then again if that was the reason I guess you'd expect that to be right at the back as far as possible from the circuits at the front...

    Very tempting to say the least. Would have been nice to see close-ups of the internals. Wonder how hackable it is.

    Nice job showing off the features of the unit, I gave you a thumbs up, If is definitely built down to a price point, it seems very toy like... 100ns edges is very slow and almost useless. Is their anyway you can give that a true evaluation? What is phase noise, max current, min count and resolution, frequency stability (open air crystal flapping in the airseems problematic) etc.... any how good job.

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  8 років тому +1

      +Michael Katt
      I'll post a link to all the specs in the video description area. For the hobbyist/student, the unit is perfect. The frequency was moving around during the crystal testing because power was applied to the crystal with the ground lead hanging off. Connecting the wire to the input with nothing connected to the clips on the frequency measurement setting will result in no reading.

    24:26 "Where's the beef?" (Ask your parents about that quote; it was a social meme before we were calling these things memes.) There's bugger all in these DDS function generators. I can't even why they put it in such a large enclosure unless they thought that was a form factor that the market expects a function generator to come in. It could easily have been shortened to sit flush abreast a typical DSO; I think most electronics engineers would appreciate the savings in workbench real estate.
