This annual event brings together local and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the infectious energy and spirit of the Bahamian people. We chose to join in on the fun at the parade. The festival features colorful and elaborate costumes, handcrafted from paper, cardboard, and other materials, adorned with feathers, glitter, and beads. As the rhythmic beat of goatskin drums, cowbells, and whistles fill the air, participants parade through the streets, showcasing their intricate choreography and synchronized movements. The Junkanoo festival is a true spectacle, captivating audiences with its fusion of tradition, creativity, and community, making it an unforgettable experience for all who partake.
