- On the 15th May 2024, CIWF, RSPCA and KAALE united to celebrate the Ban on Live Exports from Great Britain! We projected a video on the White Cliffs of Dover to mark this historic moment.

Now all we require from animals is forgiveness 🙏❤️🐶

A good step, now can everyone just stop eating the poor souls who still end their days in the hell of slaughter houses. Please be under no illusion there is no humanity behind those walls.

Brilliant news for us and the animals..Thank you all.
Thank you so much to everyone who made this happen. This is just amazing. However, how do we put an end to all cruelty to animals???x
Great news! Why did it take so long? There's so much cruelty towards animals in this country in OUR slaughter houses as well. The only way to stop it is to stop eating meat.
Well done to everyone involved. Jill Phipps will be so proud of you. 🥰👏👏👏

It's fantastic news for the animals. Thanks everyone for helping ❤️❤️🙏🙏❤️🐾🐾
I was at Shoreham many years ago and the things I witnessed were so distressing. I’m overjoyed that this ban has finally been achieved. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who made it possible
Absolutely fantastic, thanks for all the hard work
I noticed the "Green" Party MP, Caroline Lucas, on the video. In 2016, she campaigned and voted for the UK to never be in a position from which in can ban live animal exports; or, indeed, the import of foie gras and the import of animal fur from horrific fur farms in EU States such as Finland and Poland. Moreover, she is - along with her Party - a passionate supporter of the brutal and barbaric ritual slaughter of gentle, sentient animals.
How so? Can you tell us more?
@@richc9631 The UK Government's reply to an E-petition in 2014 calling for an end to live animal exports was as follows:
"To ban the trade, either directly or by indirect means, would be illegal and would undermine the principle of the free-movement of goods as enshrined in the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union."
Moreover, the RSPCA stated the following in its document, "Brexit - Getting the Best for Animals" (Jan., 2018, paragraph 2.3):
"EU law treats animals as 'goods', and farm animals as a type of agricultural product. The EU rules on free movement of goods therefore apply to farm animals. As a result the EU Court of Justice has ruled, for example, that Member States cannot prohibit the export of live animals, and must take proportionate action to ensure that protesters are not allowed to interfere with such exports."
In the 2016 Referendum, Lucas and the "Green" Party campaigned for the UK to remain in the EU.
In 2019, the National Secular Society reviewed the policies of all the Parties at the General Election. It stated the following:
"The Greens, who are usually very concerned by animal welfare, pledge to defend the right of religious people to 'express their faith through food'. This hints that they too condone non-stun slaughter, even though it entails a high degree of animal cruely. This prioritisation of religious demands over animal welfare comes a year after a Green councillor voted to continue supplying non-stun halal meat to schools."
In addition, in their article of 8th. November, 2023, the NSS reported that the "Green" Party in Wales had dropped its pledge to ban non-stun slaughter. Indeed, the article quotes the new position of the Party: slaughter should be 'monitored without prejudice towards minority cultural an religious groups', and that non-stun slaughter was 'open to interpretation as discriminatory towards minority communities'.
@@ianthwaite7473 Thank you that's terrible. I imagine the position of the other parties to be the same, though. How do we campaign the E.U. to not treat animals as 'goods'?
@@richc9631 You are, I fear, correct - all the Parties hold a similar position on these issues. It is also the case that, in reality, all farmed animals are regarded as "goods" - ie, not just in the EU, but globally. "Goods", of course, are produced to be consumed, and, in this case, I have decided not to consume this particular "product". Hence, in the very long term, exposure of this vile "industry" is the only means by which the demand can be reduced, and, hopefully, eliminated completely.
In the short term, however, we can only support campaigns which, indeed, promote compassion in world farming. CIWF also campaign in the EU, most recently to end what they term the "Cage Age" - they also wish to see the end of the use of cages in the UK.
I would like to see the EU end live exports out of the EU to Middle Eastern countries, where they suffer a horrific fate. Indeed, Animals Australia has long campaigned on this issue, and a ban on live exports is due to be implemented there in 2028. A ban is already in place in New Zealand thanks to the work of SAFE, their main animal welfare organisation.
Finally, it does appear that there is a global movement towards banning live exports completely.
❤👍
Wonderful!
Wonderful
I honour you.
Wonderful news , kindness must win , thankyou.
Absolutely brilliant. Now to get more people to change to a plant based diet 🤞.
Best news in a long time. Thank you all for your hard work and determination in getting this horrific trade banned 👏👏👏👏
A good start towards a Vegan purely plant based farming system. For the planet, your health and animal welfare. no more animals killed in slaughter houses and dying in agony
❤❤❤❤
