Mini Cooper Convertible - the last pure fun car?

My Wife loves her R56 Mini Cooper D. I have got to admit it handles brilliantly, and is nippy does 60+ MPG.
every time I offer to replace it, she says, if it fails it's MOT, But it is ultra reliable too, soon be 12 years old still fun though.

Nice little review Bob, I drove a Cooper s at Mondello park just after Christmas and my god it was a good drive. 190hp is plenty in a small car like it and they have a nice hum at the back, nothing offensive but a happy man I was 😉👌🏻

MX5 Mk4 says hi, and its reliable too, no turbo so engine 2.0l lasts longer, just drove home Apple Car Play 6 degrees C nice and warm roof down. T Shirt & shorts on 🤣 Ground up convertible handling superb, and its light under a tonne.

R52 was rubbish but I enjoyed my R56 when I had it, although it did fall apart. F56 generation is more reliable. Looking forward to seeing the next generation Mini when it comes out.
