You came to Scotland at least 45 years ago, and I listened to you play at a venue in Glasgow. I managed to get to talk to you for a few moments backstage before you began your performance, and you were very courteous.
I was 19 years old and had just "discovered" a wonderful country blues guitarist called Mississippi John Hurt. Thank-you for that performance you gave that night so many years ago..

I saw (you) Stefan, in one of your London solo shows, way back in '74 or '75. I learned and had since forgotten I knew this one over the years; but this refresher has helped me improve on my earlier attempts. Big thanks for the joy it brings me! You do great work to keep this fantastic music alive and relevant as it always was!

This is one of the first songs I learned from Stefan from a Kicking Mule LP back in the '70's!! The video sure would have helped!!

Stefan is the best. I like that he gives songs with his lessons so one can build a portfolio after the course. This song took me many years to learn. I still struggle on the g7 trill lol. I think I’m playing it way to fast thought

So nicely done Stefan! I don't know why I just decided to learn this tune, but I have a John Hurt book you wrote years ago. Between that and this video, it came along nicely. I can't mute the bass though without a thumbpick! i know John didn't wear one, and I see you don't for this song, but you still got that percussive sound. So I wear the pick and I definitely sound better with John Hurt tunes now. So now I'm inspired and may dig into a few more. Thanks Stefan!

I have been learning this from your book so it was great to come across this video to see and hear how it should be played. My version has so much commitment that I think that I need some restraint so that the melody sings out a bit more. Many thanks.

Hey stefan i learned this an started playing around with it on the second measure instead of playing the b on the 3 fret you can switch it up an play a open e string at the end its kinda nice for a melody.

    Hi Stefan:
Years ago, I bought and have enjoyed your vinyl record 'How To Play Blues Guitar'.
Are you using a webcam to record your UA-cam videos?
If so, what model of webcam are you using to record your UA-cam videos?

My right hand (picking hand) is getting fumbled up starting on the 3rd measure. I feel like that's not explained enough. I also feel like I need to know which finger hits what string and when.

Hang in there. This style of playing guitar takes a lot of practice. Take it one line at a time. Print out the tab, put a post it note in front and at the end of each line. Practice that line, then the next. I’ve come back to this song to try and sing it while playing it. Wow, it’s hard. But, one line at a time;) good luck Ochomarvo.
