Back in 2014 when I first got my Subaru XV Crosstrek, the aftermarket for off-road protection was nearly non-existent. I was an early adopter of a specific brand of rock sliders, which I later found out weren't really true rock sliders. The same company makes plenty of slid plates, though. Seeing these videos makes me happy to see that we have options these days. Some models have two options, some might have one, newer ones might have as many as five options of rock sliders.
I’m ocd, I would get rust convertor and use a paintbrush to convert it into black primer. Blends better and rids the rust. Ironically, Today I bought some loctite extend rust neutralizer to fix any new rust patches on my underbody.
This is awesome! Great that it doesnt affect the breakover clearance. Are the bolts into the pinch weld really necessary? If all the load is vertical then wont the sliders just push against the bottom of the weld? Or is it just to keep it from moving around and not really structural?
I was about to laugh in amusement when you used the microfiber to protect the finish when your eventually going to run over boulders and rocks anyways. But I get it bro, I baby my non Subaru vehicle too. 11:04😂
I would love to have this for looks and protection but i have gas tank skid plates from Anderson Fabrication and Designs. Do i have to make cuts on my skid plates? I checked out their website and no products are shown. Maybe I have to pre order them. I got 2023 crosstrek.
I don't plan on ever doing anything this wild to my crosstrek but I love watching other people do it!

I wish all my Jeep parts had install videos like this! I'm so freakin excited for the winch bumper vid. Keep up the great content Joe!
Thanks! 👍
im looking to do something EXACTLY like this, thanks for the inspiration!
I love this build! Glad I found it on your IG.
Awesome! Thank you!
He does great work, was surprised that my foresters doesn't stick out like yours.
I think it's because you retained your side skirts. I left mine off because they're broken on both sides.
@@octurbojoe no it has to do with the spacing between the pinch welds and the body yours curves up a little bit mine's flat
@@beardedpixel I see
Thank you for creating this video.
Giggled a little at protecting the finish of the slider.
Looks sick man! Glad you guys were able to get something really solid fabricated by Full Force. Also, I subscribed 😎
Thanks Phil!
Great vid Bro! Looking forward to the front bumper install. 👍
You and me both!

Did you need an alignment after install? I heard some talk about it in the video? Thanks
How do you manage to keep your CV axles together with that much lift? Everybody says the CVs destroy themselves if you put more than 2.5" of lift.
Goooood they look so mean. Also, nature’s gifts always good ones 😂. Great vid
Thanks 😅
Great video.
