The trick in the photographing of this work was almost as good as the "trick" itself. In turning the volume down made it much more enjoyable to me. Not understanding Dutch, sounds to me like it would be very difficult speaking the Dutch language if you were suffering from a cold. In this Night Watch work of Rembrandt's I personally see what it exactly was that Rembrandt wanted his contemporaries to see. I can almost guarantee it was nothing that this curator was saying about this work. cont'd
I do know what size the original work is of this piece and for the curator to be standing there larger than life in comparison at its side does to me kind of discredits this work of art and of its true meaning. Well, what the hell, they haven't change its name yet to "The Day Watch". I do see they have changed Rembrandt's name to van Rembrandt. Isn't his name supposed to be Rembrandt van Rijn, or his signatures of RH, RHL or just plain R, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, something like that?
