I have been looking for this exact song for over 20 years! It was the final relaxation music that Sharon Gannon played at every yoga class at the original Jivamukti Yoga, Second Avenue, NYC back in the 1990s. THANK YOU for uploading it!
I disagree, I think the newer version makes the recording more powerful. Alice had a wonderful voice, and it’s just such raw emotion pouring out of her soul. It’s just her and her Wurlitzer, and I think it’s the purest way to hear her devotion to god.
@@whitehouseblackroom I this really the complete song length, since it says on discogs its 8 minutes. Also could you please share me a link for this complete, i really never ask this.
@@MrLisaFischer It would spoil the song for YOU. I received an English translation from someone that reads Sanskrit, and it enhanced my understanding. That's what a translation does. I'm not going to make something mean what it doesn't.
it's possible "through the grapevine" i heard they may have had only the original tapes of the organ and vocal, but i'm not sure i believed that when i was told by someone who works with people who worked with Ravi Coltrane on the new one. I really, deeply wish there was a high fidelity version released with the full overdubs. The portamento on the oberheim really does soar and the strings are beautifully articulated. anyone who's interested, i recommend World Galaxy and Lord Of Lords, which also have gorgeous strings.
This has been one of my favorite songs for like 15 years... hearing it in The Curse (even in odd moments) always makes me cry
Did The Curse send anyone else here?
THIS is the version!
I can’t get enough of this song, ever since I heard it in my friend Cory Lee Garnet’s car in La

So strange to hear this at the end of the season premiere of The Curse. Still wish this version was on Spotify!
I agree it’s very haunting and somehow fits perfectly with the tone of the first episode. I stayed and listened through the entire credits roll.
@@javierp95 I'm really intrigued to see where the show goes. It seems like there's something really unsettling and surreal hiding under the surface.
Glad I’m not the only one totally haunted by that ending. It’s really something special

who is here for the OG version with orchestral strings and oberheim synthesizer despite the newer hi-fi one?
yeah absolutely bummed that this hasn't gotten a re-release in years.
I can do nothing but cry
I feel it!
I wish this version was on Spotify
I'm so glad the Curse is introducing this beautiful album to so many new people.

I wish they would release this version on spotify I love it so much

The ending is so beautiful

Alice Coltrane ❤️🙏🙏
ayo they kinda ruined this with the new one, why remove the beautiful arrangments?
very much so. such a strange decision
Because there weren't master tapes discovered for those, so they couldn't be remastered
To extend the copyright most likely

Im sure the full instrumentation would have been included if the full masters had been found, but there’s beauty to the more minimal arrangement too
incredible that i have to picture nathan fielder's haunted face listening to this
this song reminds me of cherry tomatoes
reminds me of this great penne dish i had recently

Do we have an English translation of this? 💚🌹
English translation will spoil the song. As it is you can translate it to mean what you want it mean

The English translation is on the 2021 re-issue...with just organ accompaniment
The new version without the strings sounds much more intimate imho. Peace.
agree but enjoying this version as well
love this version WAY more. the synths/strings make it soar.
I prefer the stringless version too but this is still gorgeous
