@@OTRR Question to you folks. Are these old Lux Theaters movie adaptations available on tapes or records? My sister grew up to adore the movies of the 1930s and 1940s and now she finds it difficult to see TV screens or read books. Gosh, she would love these adaptations and would take her back to her youth.
@@williamsnyder5616 I'm sure there are sets available for sale out there. However, we do post our sets at archive.org. Here's where that set lives: archive.org/details/OTRR_Certified_Lux_Radio_Theatre (that's a lot of zip files to download and extract, however). Alternatively, we have a streaming service called HOTROD. All the episodes we have (over 800, including episodes from other countries) are available there to listen to. If she creates a login, she can bookmark favorite episodes and create playlists. Look for the HOTROD link on our home page at otrr.org/.
This version, starring Tyrone Power, while shorter than the movie, loses nothing and the differences actually add a refreshing change. If you can't get hold of the movie, you'll be glad to have discovered this! Includes a brief preview of the movie, Whirlpool.

wonderful acting from everyone. except not a good Dudley - i don’t feel the heart of the angel or the fun, Tyrone Power is so matter-of-fact. he’s not Cary Grant. not for this radio part anyway! 🌷🌱
I'm sorry. I adore Tyrone Power, but he'd never be as good as Cary Grant in The Bishop's Wife. Just as Cary Grant could never replace Tyrone Power in The Razor's Edge.
One of my favorite movies
This makes me nostalgic for a time I never lived in ( but wish I did) God Bless xx
Listening to classic Christmas movies/ radio shows instead of watching. Love it.
What a joy to find this! I love the original movie, so this is a special gift. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!

@@OTRR I LOVE your channel, the way they talk and even the commercials. Mill-li-yuns and mill-li-yuns should tune in.🤣🤣😂
Thank you😇😇😇
Wow!!! My fave film ever as a radio production. How fantastic!!!!! xxx
How interesting! I never knew this existed. I see the original air date was 1949. I enjoyed the movie so I'm looking forward to checking this out.
Tyrone Power from Cincinnati, Ohio.
One of my favorite movies, I love Tyrone ❤️
While I love the original movie, this radio play isn't bad. I really like Tyrone Power, and I do like David Niven as the Bishop.
Wonderful, even better than the movie. Thank you so much.❤
Anyone else never heard of lux before!?
How old are you? Lux has been around forever. Actually, about 100 years. The soap flakes, that is. They also make bar soaps and liquid soaps.

Not the same. Might as well listen to the movie

Tyrone would have been wonderful in the movie, just as good as Cary
🤔 I beg to differ
