It's not overshooting...you can pass automatic signal in danger condition by waiting for some time...but need to follow speed restriction...he didn't follow it...only thing he did wrong was not maintaining speed...which is very important when passing danger signal in automatic section....I think automatic signals are newly implemented there...
Its still overshooting , which comes under breach of block rules.

Guard is not running ahead of the train . He is not watching the aspect of signal .Have some logic before saying non sense
