@@olcapone3039 The SEC does not represent the world (only US). Many banks are using XRP as a bridge currency to transfer funds (including MoneyGram, American Express, Bank of America, etc in the US). International banks like SBI (the largest bank in Japan) uses XRP and many other countries as well. You can find all of these information anywhere online. :)

The SEC never gave an explanation why Bitcoin and Ethereum are not securities. The OCC and FinCEN said XRP is a virtual currency not Ripple. Also look at Vitalik Buterin and a conference he spoke at in 2014. He publicly said you could trade 1 Bitcoin for 1,000 Ethereum coins. You can't find a better example of initial coin offering (ICO) then what Vitalik did at that conference. It's unbelievable how many FUD is created around Ripple and XRP!

Also back to your point about the insane of amount XRP held by Ripple. That amount your referring to is locked up in escrow and is released on a monthly base. I believe Ripple has been the perfect steward of the escrow because they put large amounts of XRP back each month. Also David Schwartz has said that they could burn 50% of the XRP if a community majority would want that to happen. This has already happened to XLM and is a possible option for XRP as well. Finally some other company could become the steward of the escrow think of Polysign or maybe the IMF.

@@wisam1991 if you want a better coin, probably a good idea to aim for one with yield. So like Tezos or ADA Ethereum will soon offer yield. It may be the largest yield offering cryptocurrency project out there. This may bring great stability AND growth If negative interest rates cause people to buy cryptocurrencies in the future, they will have to choose whether they want one which offers interest or not. I personally find it difficult to see people accepting currencies which don't offer any yield. Not financial advice, but there's a fairly big chance that people may pick Ethereum instead

I see / hear this concept a lot. The US is the #1 economy in the world, although under stress at the moment, the US still runs global finance. Ripple knows it will be nothing without US backing. Sorry this video is not quite correct...XRP reached its 1 year high last week. Its trading in multiple exchanges. There was no pretrial settlement with ripple and its facing issues however XRP is nowhere near the end as alluded to in the video. (I do not own any XRP)

I agree, information is a mess, but this video dosen't help. Not an xrp fanboy here but looks like a settlement can happen with sec. Beside that if the argument is that all depends on the lawsuit outcome, you should consider that xrp is not only US: ripple can move to japan and bye bye sec. Nothing been said about the huge funds/banks/corporations that partner with ripple. Not saying that there is no chance that ripple can fail, but everything can happen, including that one day governments discover how dangerous is btc because of its price and total uselesness and ban it worldwide.
So based upon SEC weird logic, if a cryptocurrency is a high value per token because of low total amount in circulation like Bitcoin, it's a commodity. If it's high total amount in the billions instead of millions, it's a security. Wouldn't that also make the US Dollar a security too specially since the total amount in circulation is in the trillions? Also, XRP is a separate entity and was even created before Ripple was. If anything, the success of Ripple benefits XRP and that's how the XRP price goes up. Ripple success and private stock success is the security of XRP, not vice versa.
I find it very interesting that a video like this is sponsored. It's paid content like this that makes me want to buy XRP because someone big is clearly trying to get the price down while they accumulate their position. Been seeing a lot of this happening in the crypto space and it's textbook market manipulation. The SEC trail only applies to the USA and USA buyers. When India tried to ban cryptocurrency, despite having 1.3+ billion people, the prices didn't change much. The rest of the world ignored it, and honestly, as someone outside the USA the SEC's case hasn't meant anything to me, or my opinion of Ripple's technology. Yes, XRP may rise up if the trial is unsuccessful, but it also might go sideways or even fall. I wouldn't count on the sudden rapid increase of a global currency because one country makes a ruling one way or the other. But to be honest, banks and partnering with them are the real chokeholds on the world of finances. Soon as more people learn about blockchain and crypto. They will demand a better financial system. And there's a project called DIVI that building a new economy we’re building that new economy. A new financial system powered by blockchain. To beat the banks, one must first become them. Why are you even using your whole life savings in a very risky investment? Hoping for another crypto to become the next bitcoin is just too risky especially if you have nothing to fall back too. For risky investments I only use 5-10% of my total networth so I always have a safety net.

No serious party will make this currency mainstream with that many coins locked up to one beneficiary, they have more coins in escrow than the current market cap, let that sink in. Ripple is most likely not going to settle with the SEC under the current acting chair as she removed a clause that would facilitate the security registration of XRP and would force Ripple to move its HQ internationally to continue operations. It's possible under the incoming acting chair though, imo.

@@olcapone3039 The SEC does not represent the world (only US). Many banks are using XRP as a bridge currency to transfer funds (including MoneyGram, American Express, Bank of America, etc in the US). International banks like SBI (the largest bank in Japan) uses XRP and many other countries as well. You can find all of these information anywhere online. :)

The SEC never gave an explanation why Bitcoin and Ethereum are not securities. The OCC and FinCEN said XRP is a virtual currency not Ripple. Also look at Vitalik Buterin and a conference he spoke at in 2014. He publicly said you could trade 1 Bitcoin for 1,000 Ethereum coins. You can't find a better example of initial coin offering (ICO) then what Vitalik did at that conference. It's unbelievable how many FUD is created around Ripple and XRP!

I believe Ripple has been the perfect steward of the escrow because they put large amounts of XRP back each month. Also David Schwartz has said that they could burn 50% of the XRP if a community majority would want that to happen. This has already happened to XLM and is a possible option for XRP as well. Finally some other company could become the steward of the escrow think of Polysign or maybe the IMF.

I see / hear this concept a lot. The US is the #1 economy in the world, although under stress at the moment, the US still runs global finance. Ripple knows it will be nothing without US backing. I agree, information is a mess, but this video dosen't help. Not an xrp fanboy here but looks like a settlement can happen with sec. Beside that if the argument is that all depends on the lawsuit outcome, you should consider that xrp is not only US: ripple can move to japan and bye bye sec. Nothing been said about the huge funds/banks/corporations that partner with ripple. Not saying that there is no chance that ripple can fail, but everything can happen, including that one day governments discover how dangerous is btc because of its price and total uselesness and ban it worldwide.
So based upon SEC weird logic, if a cryptocurrency is a high value per token because of low total amount in circulation like Bitcoin, it's a commodity. If it's high total amount in the billions instead of millions, it's a security. Wouldn't that also make the US Dollar a security too specially since the total amount in circulation is in the trillions?
Also, XRP is a separate entity and was even created before Ripple was. If anything, the success of Ripple benefits XRP and that's how the XRP price goes up. Ripple success and private stock success is the security of XRP, not vice versa.
I find it very interesting that a video like this is sponsored. It's paid content like this that makes me want to buy XRP because someone big is clearly trying to get the price down while they accumulate their position. The SEC trail only applies to the USA and USA buyers. When India tried to ban cryptocurrency, despite having 1.3+ billion people, the prices didn't change much. Hi, I would have liked to see in your info: 1. SEC not providing clarity in 2019 to an exchange who asked if xrp was a security. 2. SEC chair resigns 2 days after opening the lawsuit. 3. US SEC is out of step with the rest of the world including other departments in the US - DOJ for exmaple classed xrp a currency...there is a reason why the US still relies heavily on checks as payment while the rest of the world moves on. incumbents just want the sytem not to change in my opinion

At first I was like this guy is sort of spot on but as it went on it seemed more like a video to instill doubt because a lot of important and I mean very important information is missing. Like the fact that the SEC runs a node using tax payer dollar’s on the xrp ledger. That despite the lawsuit XRP still continues to ink deals at about 2 banks a week. They have about 50 central bank partnerships all waiting for regulatory clarity, despite the drop in price due to the sec lawsuit there are about 1 million more wallets open and overall the amount of top wallets have been accumulating more. You can go for days. I will finish up with “Know what you hold”!!!!!!!.

Ripple is most likely not going to settle with the SEC under the current acting chair as she removed a clause that would facilitate the security registration of XRP and would force Ripple to move its HQ internationally to continue operations. It's possible under the incoming acting chair though, imo.
