It's also helpful to get yourself in a habit of checking your planner/ calendar at the same time every day. for me, it's right before bed. I put my PJs on, open my planner and then write out my to-do list for the next day on my white board. by making it part of my bedtime routine, I seldom forget to do it.

I will definitely try to make that a habit soon

Using a bullet journal has been really helpful for me!

I tend to not remember to remember things. So I usually relocate my wristwatch from one wrist to another or turn it around so it faces inwards. Or I move my ring from one finger to another. Then, I get increasingly uncomfortable during the day, and when I go to fix this, I remember that I need to do something.
Unfortunately, it's been about a year since I started doing this, and I've noticed that sometimes, I'll completely forget the reason why I relocated these things. Like, I'll look at my watch and start wondering what it is I should have done. So it's not a foolproof system. But it works 90% of the time.

Bullet Journaling has been AWESOME for me. I started less than a year ago but it's so true that writing something down and having a concise place to put EVERYTHING helps so much. I still use digital calendar apps (especially shared ones with my husband) but we have a whiteboard calendar in the center of our home too. Making sure any appointments or events are on all these places means we can check our schedule wherever we are and things are much more likely to get done.

So I have just found this channel. What I find totally amusing is a lot of the things I already know how to do. I was taking public transportation from the age of like 12 because we learned to do it at the school for the blind, I know how to cook on a stove top, I know how to bake in an oven, but I’ve never used a crockpot. I seriously am probably gonna just sit and listen to everything you guys have on herebecause

Regarding tools: the best tool for this is always whatever is easiest, whatever you’ll be most likely to use reliably, and whatever you trust most. If you’re going to offload your brain’s work, it needs to be in a place you trust implicitly and fully.

    Me just now:
-Goes to backpack to get notebook to write something in it
-takes out notebook, remembers I need a pencil
-goes back to chair with pencils
    -left notebook by backpack
    I quit today.

    During lectures -
Teacher : " blah blah blah"
Me: Oh that's what I need to write down.
    *Grabs the pen *
    *Opens the notebook*
    *Starts to write *
*Writes 3 words and forgot the rest*
    I quit!

I try to use the “do it now method” for tasks like starting the laundry or putting something away. The way it works is if I am thinking about it and it won’t make me late for something else I just stop and do the task right away this way there is less to remember. I also try to write down to do lists and set reminders in my phone.
After seeing this video I think I might try the google calendar thing.

Somethings to note ,you will remember things better in a sequence as each item will let you remrmber the next thing. I believe this is why you can remember more complex things more than simple things but people are like 'you should know' but it's just something that hasn't stuck in your head.

In first year of college, our professor forced us to buy a small journal to write reminders or to-dos. I'm in my last year now and I must say these journals are really helpful.

At work i never have a pen on me and i'm always moving but every 3 days when i'm 1/4 of the way through a certain task i have to go to one end of the building and flip a switch. I ALWAYS forget until this week, i tucked a napkin in my knee pad so when i kneel down i see it sticking out and remember when it's time to flick the switch!

I quite often leave a random (or sometimes relevant) object someplace obvious, to remind myself to do something without the effort of a note. E.g. throwing a sock over to the door to remind myself to do something before going out. (Probably only practical for single-folks-without pets-who-like-to-rearrange-things :)

I write a lot to do's down but sometimes and often on different pieces of paper or whatever is closest. Always preferred writing to typing on my cell so maybe I should get a small notebook to fit my shirt pocket.

I recently came across a great tip for daily things, especially ones that you might not remember if you did, like taking medication. Make a habit of feeding your pet or giving it a treat right before you do the thing. You may forget, but rest assured, your pet will not.

Pick up your toothbrush at a 180° angle. Grab the toothpaste. Open the lid. Squirt an exactly 2 centimeter length glob of toothpaste. Raise the toothbrush . Open your mouth. Angle the toothbrush to your teeth. Brush back and forth for 20 seconds.
