Edwin Hawkins sung the first verse and Daryl Coley sung the second verse. Later on Pastor Coley put it a part of his medley on his "Live in Los Angeles: He's Right On Time" album.
damn!! i was reading an article while listening to the music at 6:13 i thought one of the singers was using an effect, i stopped reading the article to check what's going on, then i realize it's Gouche pushing the bass to it's limits, making her talking like a believer!!haha damn )) peace from Morocco
man, i've been looking for this song for soooo long! we sang it in the choir when i was little and i loved it. thanks for the post!! where in the world did those bass and sax players come from?? lawd!
Andrew Gouche you and your band are amazing your groove was so tight and them licks were on point loved it. Andrew can you do some lessons some way some how i need them licks man. Thanks
If you do a search you will not be able to find the Edwin Hawkins version to my knowledge. I actually have this on CD. I had the cassette of the album and I converted it to CD. Also if you do a search on Itunes you will find a version under Daryl Coley. On one of his best of CD's. Im not sure if Gouche is playing on that version or not.
Donald hayes is amazing..the groove is fat! God bless you all!!

GOUCHE IS THE SHIZNIK
Andrew Gouche must be a big guy (literally).
His six string looks like a guitar in his hands.
Fantastic playing though and a big inspiration.
