@plukensteinpaint There's a few spots where you get a good look at the tread pattern. Pause it and go look at the X-MT, it's identical.

Josh says something like “I’d rather you wait but I can’t stop you”. They’re obviously new, obviously vanquish, and based on what you said about the tread, obviously Yokohama

at about 26:14 someone asks if they can post the reel about them tires, and Josh says he'd prefer not but if they're in it, they're in it. So my guess is something un-released. Great driving, great rig, and it looks like it was a blast!

It was awesome to drive it, the whole truck was very predictable. I used geometry that was pretty familiar to me though so I had high hopes!

I can say that I do love it on the 2.2's as well. But I think I like the look on the 1.9 even more. I may go with a 2.2 wheel on 1.9 tires even.

After all the time it takes to build one when I see it tumble I cringe but that’s what there for ! Tires look sweet I didn’t notice sidewall wrinkle as much as others !

I'm fairly certain they're Yokohama Geolandar X-MTs. Tread pattern is identical, although the sidewall is blank on them here. They also don't look stretched on the wheel, so my money is on Vanquish releasing them as both 2.2 and 1.9s.

Great driving, Josh. Do you think you will try the radiomaster gyro for rear steer so you can cut down time on rear steer adjustment? There appeared to be some time taken to get the rear steer to the desired angle from time to time in the runs.
I doubt that I will, just because how much you have to move around on the rocks would make the rear steer wiggle all over the place.
How many competitors were in that class?
Curious if there are any running videos of the buggy that took 1st place.?

Was it killin' you, Josh, just knowing that that scale metal cage was raising that CG by a few thousandths? And you instructed Matt to use his winch to suck it down, but you didn't use/run one. Was that to keep weight low?
One thing I love about WE RC ROCK is that their is a minimum weight of 7lbs and the metal cage is required unless you want a healthy penalty. I love buggies so much that I never thought once about the weight penalty! I had matt use his suck down winch on this truck because of the height of the leaf springs. This truck rides at nearly full compression already, so there wouldn't have been a use for the suck down winch.
I'm curious here- all crawling competitions seem to be courses setup that no one gets to practice on and of course I understand the rationale, but do y'all think that introducing some limited amount of practice time could open up new varieties of competition?
I don't, even just the opportunity to run on a course for 2 or 3 mins before a course would totally alter the results and make everything much easier. It would reward drivers more who weren't able to think on their feet as well, which I feel is an important aspect of comping.
@@HarleyDesignsInc yeah, that would be the case if you kept the same format otherwise. But I'm thinking of entirely new kinds of competitions that would be more feasible with some practice. I dunno, I'm just thinking out loud.
It also comes from the fact that in RC racing, the practice is pretty essential, so was just pondering bringing some of that into crawling...

You've mentioned before that you prefer spring suspension to droop, but how did you like it for this rig? (I guess this is more semi-droop, but still)
For this type of truck I really wanted an accurate look and stance. That was more important to me than anything else. The super low ride of this was something that I needed to get used to but overall I wouldn't change it.

Does 4wheel steer have its own class?
1.9 and 2.2 unlimited run 4WS, Pro Mod doesn’t allow 4WS.
Yeah. What are the tires? We RC rock requires licensed scale tires. I can’t pick what those are.
I was trying to figure it out as well...look very similar to Gmade 1905...maybe they copied their tread from whatever this tire's real equiv is.

After looking at vanquish website these don't look like the geolander that they have on their site.
