Growing Potatoes on the Terrace is very easy, lots of big and beautiful tubers Hope useful for you. Thank for your watching and don't forget subscribe my channel ❤
A quick pro tip that may add time to grow and harvest schedule, but well worth it. Wait until the greenery above ground has completely died for one full week before harvesting, do not water at all for that week. Why? Potato skins will thicken slightly upon sitting in the soil for that extra week, which adds to the longevity of storage in a cool dry environment. I'm not talking extra days of remaining fresh, but extra months before the tubers need to be cooked before they go bad. A longer term storage becomes more viable.
Daniel, this soil looks like it's a sand type of soil, does that make it easier to grow and harvest than a store bought potting soil mixed with regular ground dirt?
@@1111blondie Tubers, aka potatoes, are an amazing crop. Sandy soil, potting soil, I've even had them grow in piles of hay with a dirt floor of all the darned things, all equally well. The key is to have it drain very well. If you have a soil that hangs onto moisture, like clay, it will corrupt the potato quicker and you may see some rot. However, a well draining medium is perfect for tubers. Take a 10 gallon bucket, drill four or five quarter inch holes in the bottom, fill it halfway with potting soil and put the potato that is sprouting on top, then finish filling it up to 90% full. Water only once per week and no more, just enough to make a couple of inches of water. Within one and a half to two months, you're ready for harvest, about 1 week after the greenery dies. Remember not to water anymore when the greenery starts to die and all will be well, no rot. It's hard to go wrong with potatoes. :)

That was a great harvest! This video is a great example of using what you have. I have so many crates at home and never thought about using them to grow potatoes or anything for that matter. Thanks for posting!
I grew a great crop of potatoes by throwing straw down on the ground about a foot deep. I then threw potatoes on the straw in a row. Then threw a couple feet of straw on top of the potatoes. I watered them, and over the appropriate time, harvested a great crop. While the potatoes were developing, it was easy to access the roots and throughout the summer, gleaned baby and small potatoes for dinner. Just pat the straw back in place. So easy, so productive.

If you plant a potato whole, you get more potatoes but they have a tendency to be smaller on average. If you have a spud with 6 eyes on it, then getting 3 chunks with 2 eyes is optimal but sometimes not possible depending on their location.
Que lindo de se ver . . .e aprender . .. gratidão 🙏🙏
