Just finished and install of this with my father in law on his Zo6 and this video was by far the most helpful. Good angles and proper instructions. The car shifts insanely quick and smooth. Good work 👍🏽👍🏽
Good job guys as always. Looked simple enough that even a CarzGuy like me could do it...I'm still gonna call Scott, but I could do it 😂🤣 MGW...here I come. Thx gents...great upload !!!!
Excellent video along with your AWE exhaust recommendation. These are now the next 2 projects for my 2019 Stingray. Thanks again, and nice meeting you at Carlisle!!
Thank you guys, excellent step by step video. I spent about 2 hours of quality time with my 19' Z, well worth it, nice improvement from stock, rock solid feel.
Thank you for the time and effort in making this video. It was very helpful! I had some quality garage time today while installing my MGW, followed your recommendations to the letter. This upgrade is amazing; huge difference between the OEM and MGW shifters, shifting is smooth and fast.. Very happy camper here!! I give you 👍👍👍👍👍's UP. 🤣
Scott and Justin, less than 2 hours start to finish. Wow, very direct. I did dive into the bag for the extra grease. There’s more room in that tunnel than suggested by the video, which was a bonus. The shifting is very direct, short, and direct.
HorsePower Obsessed Justin, you are costing me a bunch of money in great upgrades. Keep up the great vids and superior content. Each upgrade has been worth it. By the way, I used orange fabric marker for the interior white stitching to match the Sebring Orange exterior paint. Looks very sharp now.
Thank you. I thought about doing the same thing but just not sure about longevity. Send me some pictures of what yours looks like. My email is horse.power.obsessed@gmail.com
Thanks. Kind of late to the MGW party. I was really wondering about the 2nd, top dust boot. I wish they had written instructions. Also the latest version for the C7 has a blue Aluminum under piece, that almost encapsulates the ball and rod mechanism.
@@HorsePowerObsessed I suppose it would prevent the foam insulation from getting into the mechanism, which it does. This gave me the opportunity to clean and vacuum everything. Also the arm rest now has brass inserts in the lid so as not to strip the screws. Mine came out working great.
Due to current extreme, extenuating, infuriating and aggravating environmental circumstances, I have been instructed by local, state and federal authorities that I can no longer make any further comments to protect the innocent. 😢But I have found a loop-hole,➰, 😁❗ I can give this upload three 👍👍👍's up!
Thank you for the support! I thought the same thing especially since mine is a ZR1! The difference is literally night and day though so you're going to love it!
Great video HPO! Would it be possible if you made a review video about how this feels different from stock? Also if you could comment in that video about changing trans/diff fluids and the effect that Would have on the m7 that would be great. I feel like my shifter isn’t very smooth and almost grinds so I’m wondering what steps I should take to fix this. Thanks brother
I will be making a video talking more about this in the future, I have already changed my differential fluid and the trans fluid will be coming later this spring. I'll let you know if that makes any difference.
Hey Justin great video! Do you have any advice on how to turn the collar on the shift knob? Everytime I try the boot moves but not the collar. Thank you in advance.
Dang I just did this with ur video way easier then I thought, only thing u left out was how to attach the chrome ring back on the leather cover , can’t get it to sit in there without falling
I was just re-reviewing some of your previous uploads and have a question as your shifter. In the thumbnail you show what looks like the MGW Flat Stick design, but I didn't see a pic of it after the install. Is it in fact the flat stick?
@@HorsePowerObsessed Okay. Because my flat stick is now installed and I was going to ask you how you handled the "customizing" of the shifter boot to fit the rectangular shape? MGW doesn't sell the boots for their flat stick. The factory boot is modifiable, but takes a little bit of time. Hope you're enjoying the shifter.
Lol. We team up to get this stuff done but he does stuff out of his personal garage as well. We're both just car guys who like to turn wrenches on our own cars.
HorsePower Obsessed the reason I ask I’m inPa. Not sure where he is located. Us corvette guys prefer someone that knows how to do these installs them just taking it anywhere. Seat belts and shifter I’m not messing with. Thanks.
Hey Justin or Scott, my wife is mad at you 2 because your install videos are so good, I just keep buying everything you guys upload! As stated, I just ordered the #mgwshifter Do you or @512garage have any technical pearls that didn’t make it into the video? Or if you know a link or other helpful video, anything is appreciated!! I love this C7.
Great video just installed my shifter but notice it’s very loose when it’s in hear I can move it from side to side while in gear ... anyone else have this issue
Sebring postponed til Nov. On one hand it saves Corvette racing, as one more uncompetitive performance would've been the end of the team IMO. OTOH it kills all racing. GM ending all production "temporarily" will be the final nail in the coffin for the company, especially with Godzilla unemployment downgrading GMAC loan "assets" all to hell. The C8 will be the last and rarest Corvette in history. I believe only 442 were made.

Love it!! This is exactly what I was wanting for C7 content!! HPO and Team 512 knocked it out of the park!!

Steve Awesome man!
Awesome install video. No excuses for not knowing how to install an MGW shifter. Perfect resource. Enjoyed working with you on this video!
Agreed! Thank you for the help!
HorsePower Obsessed Anytime man!!
Love the groceries in the back! 🤣

lol Thanks, JT! Scott and I both have the knowledge on how to do this shifter in our sleep now! That stuff gets permanently burned into your brain!

Got this video saved for my mgw this Sunday on my c7z. Thanks brother!

Nice video! Wanted to see you shifting it. Nice work.
I will be in future videos for sure! It shifts so nice now!
The MGW is the best shifter for the C6 Z06! Shifting compared to the factory shifter is world's apart,
Agreed!!
Video and audio quality is on another level! 👍

@@HorsePowerObsessed this is true.... The professor..... Finally found the words. Great video man.

So Justin on this mgw shifter are we able to keep our oem shifter knob? The red stitching matches the boot so I wanna reuse it? Great install vid btw
Yes you sure can. I show how to do so in my video 👍👍
@@HorsePowerObsessed ok sounds great man. Happy 🦃 day to you sir. We need more c7 zr1 content man. Save our manuals GM..

Under rated video. Just ordered mine and subbed!👍🏼
Definitely agree and welcome aboard! 👍👍
Hey HPO, I am thinking about doing that shifter to my ZO6. How do you like it and let me know if its worth doing?
Hey Justin great video! Do you have any advice on how to turn the collar on the shift knob? Everytime I try the boot moves but not the collar. Thank you in advance.
Thank you! You have to grab VERY hard to make sure you rotate the collar as well. When I say very hard I mean VERY VERY HARD!
Hey Justin!.. curious if you raced street speeds ZR1 before or after you short throw install?? Seems you would be a little quicker after install..
I raced him when my car was 100% stock so yes, I would have been faster with this mgw shifter
Dang I just did this with ur video way easier then I thought, only thing u left out was how to attach the chrome ring back on the leather cover , can’t get it to sit in there without falling

@@HorsePowerObsessed yeah called up and and I didn’t tighten one of the bolts enough it’s perfect now
Sweet! Best mod I've done to my C7!
I lost my 10mm just watching this. How long did it take total?
About 4 hours but at least half of that was setting up to film.
That’s not bad. With me it’d be two hours of actual install and two hours of swearing...
Getting the dyno mat and the heat shielding down and around the torque was the most difficult step in the install. You got this!

Dude that cup that you suggest you need to put sound deadening around comes out. Remove it.
Um... Yeah. Won't be attempting this install. What a hassle. Would I like to have one? Possibly. Is the juice worth the squeeze? No.
