    The only ones that looked practical enough for actual production were the airships. You just have to be patient enough to be happy travelling from NYC to London in 2 or 3 days. If it were not too expensive, quiet enough, had comfortable seats which convert to beds, with space to move around, lounge areas and restaurant-style eating, a lot of people would opt for it and it could be commercially successful I think.

      Most educated people are transitioning away from the 'I'm just burning carbon for the fun of it' lifestyle. If we even think about our kids, eschewing the 'Slaycation' is the LEAST we can do. From that perspective, a Zero-Carbon Airship might soon be the ONLY way to get to London, Paris, Rio, Tokyo, Kauai or thousands of others destinations.

    • @jenniferusher5564
      @jenniferusher5564 11 місяців тому +3

      @@retired3437 They didn't give the speed of the new airships, but they are to be driven by propellers. The HIndenburg's speed was 84 miles per hour, and the new ships would probably be similar, depending on head or tail winds encountered. The air distance from London to Sydney is 10,573 miles, and currently you have to sit in a cramped economy seat for 22 hours of flight time for the journey. Buy a ticket on the new airship and spend almost a week on board. If it's comfortable enough with great views of the ground, good beds, comfortable work areas, fitness facilities and a well-stocked bar with plenty of chilled Coopers, you might enjoy the ride, mate.

      Yeah but, no but...
      Standard procedure before any Concorde take off was a runway inspection. This didn't take place. If it had, it would have found the part.
      The part that came from the Continental bird wasn't manufactured or installed correctly by the maintenance company. If it had been, it wouldn't have fallen off.
      The tanks weren't penetrated by the tire. The force of the impact ruptured at least one tank and it was downhill from there. This wasn't the first time that happened. If this had been dealt with appropriately, the above may not have matter. I wonder if this was the reason for the need for the runway inspection in the first place.

    What needs to happen is for science to find a way to negate gravity. That is, Suspensor Technology.
    As portrayed in Star Wars, the way Ships & small vehicles can float. Also, there needs to be a way to generate gravity in space! As shown in Star Trek & other Sci-Fi, the floors have "gravity plating". If Suspended Technology can be harnessed, it would make air travel 100% safe!

    Airships are draggy and have to flight in the dense air. If they can fly high, they have to be bigger - no drag penetely reduction.
    Longer journeys require a lot of accommodation that is heavy. That's why they are more fuel hungry than aircrafts.

    How about a helium charged jet, a jet that can float in mid-air because of charged helium and then its jet engines can thrust it forward faster then anything known to man?

    Funny the ever-so slight caveat of airships wasn't mentioned. Landing and taking off in windy or gusty (30knots plus) conditions. All the more common as the weather becomes more random.

    Ang tanging praktikal at sapat para sa aktwal na produksyon ay ang mga airship o sasakyang panghimpapawid.. Kailangan mo lang maging matiyaga para maging masaya sa paglalakbay mula New York City papuntang London sa loob ng 2 o 3 araw. Kung ito ay hindi naman masyadong magastos, tama lamang na may mga kumportableng upuan o sofa bed, na may espasyo upang ikaw ay makakilos sa paligid, mga lounge area at restaurant-style dine-in, maraming tao ang pupunta dito at sa tingin ko, ito ay maaari itong maging matagumpay sa komersyo.

    Hydrogen is not dangerous as lifting gas in Airships, no more than gasoline in the cars.
    The problem with Hindenburg was that it was designed for helium, hence it didn't have all safety features like conducting, metalized (antistatic) materials for internal balloons.
    Helium airships were also burning.
