Considering there's the death penalty on murder in the Phoenix Wright universe, there is a chance that he died. However, seeing how he did it protect somebody, its likely hell be able to get a milder penalty than death. Then again, considering that he said he was in massive pain after the incident, it might just be the absolve he needs.

The trial music really hits different at the end of trials and tribulations, at first you don't even know it but at the ending you realize how epic the song is. It gave me more goosebumps than I had ever experienced in my entire life. Kinda sad that these types of games are underrated and aren't really accepted as equal to stuff like movies and literature.
