  • Welcome to the beautiful woods of Maine! If you've ever been curious about what it takes to build a treehouse from scratch, you're in for a treat. In this fast-paced 9-minute timelapse video, we've taken the essence of 15 months of hard work and compiled it from 24 separate clips to give you an accelerated look at the construction of our treehouse platform.
    The actual construction took over a year of weekends to complete. However, we've condensed the process into this easily digestible 9-minute timelapse giving you the essence of the build.
    So grab some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy this journey from trees to a 15 foot high platform! And if you enjoy this video, don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more content like this!

      @@Practicalforest lol...no worries. It's about 15 feet high and I think it'll be about the same size as your cabin, roughly 12 x 20 when it's done. We wanted to give ourselves a 4 foot deck in the front.

    How do you know how much weight those thin trees are gonna sustain?

    • @MapleRidgeHomestead
      @MapleRidgeHomestead  3 місяці тому

      Nelson Treehouse has a "Working Load Capacity" chart, so for these 16 inch diameter oak trees, each tree TAB can hold about 12,000 pounds, add in the supporting cable and each tree is roughly capable of holding 20,000 pounds, so for our three tabs and the one support it should be able to hold ~80,000 pounds. Hope that helps! 🍁

    • @andreadan-ty7cv
      @andreadan-ty7cv 3 місяці тому +1

      @@MapleRidgeHomestead ok thanks, but i have no idea what a small house can weight, and also, those trees are growing and becoming bigger each year, so it will not create problems?

    • @MapleRidgeHomestead
      @MapleRidgeHomestead  3 місяці тому

      @@andreadan-ty7cv the trees only grow in girth where the TABs are located so the current height of the platform will never change. The tree’s will continue to grow taller but only from the top of the tree, if that makes sense
