What’s funny about Joe & Ice’s take is that they are using the same language when people talked about Gangsta rap back in the day? When Young Thug is on trial for the things he puts in his music “it’s just entertainment” but when someone uses imagery (movie references btw), now all of a sudden the music can influence the kids????
Exactly. When it goes against what their supposed beliefs, values or personal bias then it’s a problem. As if this one music video/song alone is enough to brainwash “the kids” into going down a r road that will lead to degeneracy when the Catholic Church for decades have been concealing and enabling sexual predators.

I think it’s a different spiritual place to reach from for a singer who has to perform the same song over and over and put out that same energy. The Director will direct an actors performance for a scene, but it only has to be believable once.@@owenleal
My interpretation of the song is saying that all the people that doubted her, hated on her, misjudged her, counted her out, etc. are her demons and she is asking in the chorus, “how my demons look” now that she has money now and she’s on top. You have to read and listen to the lyrics…

Wrong AF. And this is the exact thing I´ve been saying about people trying to diminish Mel´s female pov in conversations. Se made a valid point cuz how on earth we going to have massive impactful movies like The Exorcist and The Omen, or even recently as The Nun and etc... and call it ICONIC and go in herds to see them but when its applied into music is a whole different pearl-clutching type of reaction. Like she said Its a very profitable sub-genre of cinema. Flip the one who made the dumb comment about "Music is Music and Movies are Movies" Go on Einstein! Movies and Music are both equally intertwined into pop culture and the masses and its always been like that. @@claualexis1737lol they’re different. Music isn’t taken in the same way as film and that’s the difference. Music is more influential not necessarily because of the products, but how the respective products are taken in. Music can be heard subliminally more often throughout the day, requiring less concentration. A movie, unless it’s constantly on in front of you can only have such an impact on society because it’s not constantly being reinforced. That’s why bad songs on the radio become good songs if you hear it enough times. A movie, though impactful, is limited by access and therefore not constantly being reinforced.
I think she's trying to move into the market that she always wanted to be in. And I think after having success, the way she figured doing that is to first purge her audience and then make a drastic change. Especially since we are very hip hop focused, we forget that this imagery that she's using isn't new. This has been in the rock scene punk scene for a very long time. First people came in. My mind is Marilyn Manson and Ozzy Osbourne. That hasn't been a lot of big people like them for a while. But that is delay genre music that has been out for a very long time and I might be where she's trying to take a step. But you can't do that if she's tied to hip hop. Which is why I think she's been doing a purge to see if she has enough clouts left to make this turn
Thing is, she has to alienate such a large mass of her audience. She's got a platform from signing a major deal and having pop hits but it's an almost complete 180 from the target group she gained her success from and I highly doubt she's converting the same people that listen to Saweetie, Meg and the City Girls to that style of music lol...
@@dawb86 which is excellent for business. She is building a cult following. Think Playboi Carti. Funny you bring Saweetie up; all she had to do was get a low haircut to lose her "fans." Doja isn't cookie-cutter enough at her core to thrive in that Cardi B, SZA, Meg realm.
@@jakoby757 her talent/skillset (and being a looker when she wants to be lol) allows her the ability to thrive in any style she wants but I think she's just too creative to stay in that ratchet rap lane and since she'd potentially be the only major female in that Travis/Carti/Uzi lane at the moment I agree, she could potentially break the bank going in that direction...
It's so crazy how they say no one's talking about the song, yet they all are. Anyone who pursues a career or pursuit in anything will be criticized because that's just how the human race functions. As a former heavily indoctrinated Christian, I'll say this, your beliefs shape your reality. So what you believe in IS real and what you don't believe in ISN'T. On a side note, it takes courage to put yourself out there. It takes even more courage to be your authentic self because: look, everybody has something to say. Doja Cat's transformation and the way she portrays herself has helped me realize that you're never safe from criticism, fuck what other people think (it's a projection anyway), and you should do what you want because you only have one life. Plus, she's such a troll on purpose and I think it is to show all our hypocrisy and how we take (some) things too seriously.
Period. It's like some people rather women who are artists just be these constructed ideas of beauty & sexuality. Keeping them in a box in their mind, especially in rap music. Because if this imagery was from a rock band or white singer it'd be less of a big deal. But of course, anyone can always ruffle religious feathers. That's easy because they're so one dimensional in thought. It's like these old heads don't want rap to evolve.
People don't party to movies. They party to music and I can gaurantee that more murders and drug overdoses were done by kids who listen to it. They literally have music to drive by as an album.
To top in off, in most of the movies, the evil is depicted as a bad thing to be destroyed or covercome. Its not being glorified in most cases. Now there can still be issues with profiting off of it, but its not 1:1 with the devil worship
People overestimate how much influence music actually plays on people's day to day life choices. And considering these guys are hip hop heads, it should be more than clear that young people are very much able to differentiate music, music's meaning, and intentions. Probably more so than the adults who think they need to be sheltered. All of these guys were listening to hip hop growing up, none of them have been locked up for murder(As far as I know.) And billions of other hip hop listeners haven't either. So why would this song suddenly cause an influx of devil worship, If the criminal content that we all enjoy hearing in rap music didn't? Isn't that exactly what people used to, and probably still say about rap? It's devil music? EVEN WITHOUT THE IMAGERY? Let's hold ourselves to higher standards than this please. We're better than the double standards. It's just music.
Demons and "evils" imagery in music gets more smoke then teens sliding bc monsters are an easy target, criticizing real life monsters comes with consequences.
i agree but i feel like it all comes down to relatability and subject matter with the music, i 100% believe drill music has an influence on youth's choices but devil worshipping is like a stretch imo. These same monsters that will do drive bys also pray to a god.
I think you’re trying to minimize it so you feel ok about what you’re supporting. Just say you are cool with occult imagery cuz that’s the truth. Stand on your shit.
Doja Cat has ALWAYS been about shock value so why is anyone surprised? If Kanye did the same thing we’d call it “genius” or “artistry” and claim that people just don’t “get it”. Far from a Doja fan but she ATE that VMAs performance!
Life is more spiritual than we realise. You are ultimately influenced by anything you give your attention to. What is strange about art is that it serves as a sort of a portal between the spiritual realm and the physical realm. Anyone who has ever created will tell you that the best ideas come when you stop trying to create with intent. In fact, most of an artist's "intentional" work never sees the light of day because of how mediocre it turns out. Most great and humble artists always say that their greatest ideas come from God, and He just used them as vessels to deliver these ideas. Truth is that all great ideas are not from the artist, only the extremely vain/ignorant take full credit. Yet still, what the humble artists don't understand is that just because an idea comes from the spiritual realm - it doesn't mean that it comes from God. The Bible in 1 John 4: 1-6 says to test every spirit to see if it is from God. That every spirit that does not confess Jesus, is not from God. Which means if the ideas do not glorify God in the name of His son Jesus Christ, it is not from God. Every idea has a spiritual agenda. Let's think of it this way, if prayer and worship music edifies the world and summons the goodness of the kingdom of God - music and videos by artists like Doja summons things from the dark side of the spiritual realm. Soon we start noticing our world becoming more like the art these artists create. Kids wanting to be d*mons for halloween just like Doja, p*p p*lls and drinking le*n like Future, or even have a WAP like Megan and Cardi. This explains the famous saying that: "life imitates art more than art imitates life". These artists are ignorantly allowing ev*l spirits to use them to model our society and world after their own realm, just because the artists find it "artistic" or to have a "shock value". Most times it's less about selling your s*ul, and more about unwittingly allowing these d*mons express themselves through you. Not realising that you are being instrumental in literally "raising h*ll".
"Raising hell." As in allowing lower level consciousness/vibrations to rise up and be manifested into the physical realm. Youth that go out and do things with no sense of morality or principles are literally said to have "raised all kinds of hell." ALL of the artists taking part in the making of ANY kind of music, videos, performances, etc. that go against their own sense of morality or that is in fact lacking of any at all have in essence "sold their soul." So many in fact have now that it's become almost impossible for so many to spot the difference and a ridiculous amount of the masses are just sheep being led astray by the pied pipers of the dark prince....
I'M A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST AND I LOVE DOJA CAT. IF YOU KNOW HER, SHE DOES THIS. SHE'S VERY ARTISTIC AND VISUALS ARE PART OF THE PACKAGE. SHE MAY ALSO MAKE A SONG WITH VISUALS IN MIND. I'M JUST CURIOUS TO SEE HOW MANY OFFENDED PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY CHRISTIANS, BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE TOPIC OF DISCUSSION AMONGST US.
I now realize that we have to stop with the demonic panic bc why there are so many things that many consider demonic once we start thinking art is demonic and symbolism is demonic that when we find ourselves anxious filled messes and anxiety is not of God.
🤣 Even though I can't stand Lady Gaga's music she's infinitely way talented than Doja Cat can only dream of. Both those girls are weirdos and both won't be cancelled but Lady Gaga has the greater talent to back up that weirdness but Doja Cat doesn't possessed.

I think as people we need to take satanic cults, worship, or explicit symbolism to describe something in particular more serious. Satanic symbolism is not just a song or a dance, its a lifestyle thats unacceptable. Before we actually make a public opinion on this matter, we need to understand the principles which it stands on. Satanist believe in the murder of the innocent, they are wolves in sheep clothing amonst the innocent and even their own, and they are the most wicked people on the planet. We shouldnt allow anyone to participate in any shape or form of demonic symbolism. And if u want to get technical, its actually illegal in the usa. If u wanna beleive in satan then thats on u. But the works thats mandatory is not allowed here. Period.

I think Doja is just taking jabs at the industry and the market. Also depicting herself as a demon maybe to claim that she is fully aware of what power music holds even on her. She may very well be playing at the whole "Satan was the main music guy in heaven" angle. Maybe suggesting we will never not see the influence of "him" in the music space. Or she could just be getting us talking - in which case she did y'all! And the "Attention" joint is hard and slaps.
I think ALL the artists that use all the Illuminati/satanic images in the videos know what they're doing and the fact that none lost any large amount of their fanbase with it (Rihanna, Jay-Z, Beyonce, etc) just proves the fact....
exactly!!! She is straight up trolling, anyone that is dumb enough to believe that this girl is demonic is living under a damn rock LOL. it is basically comical to me. Scarlet is a character, and she is showing her devil side, and her angel side., especially in the new song she washes off Scarlet and shows her softer side with the angel and devil sides. People need to open up their minds, and if you know anything about true satanism you would clearly know that they do NOT actually worship satin, they actually believe totally different, and in mother earth, animals and it is nothing like people think. The main thing is people need to educate themselves and that is the main issue here. And anyone that says "She should Fail" Good luck, as she is number 1 right now and has 3 top Billboard charting singles.
It’s funny that ppl defend it by saying imagery is nothing. They clearly don’t study symbology and the vibrations of the symbols. She was also humming the word devil, has demonic tattoos, and I saw her crying going crazy before. She’s the epitome of the industry. And yes she is one of the best female artists that’s undeniable.
I don’t think they’re saying it’s nothing as much as they’re saying it’s no worse than the media that’s conspicuously deemed acceptable. The lady here gave the example of demon movies. Another more relevant example is, rappers discussing murdering ppl… no one bats an eye. Lol

You dont have to agree with Doja "artistic" expression (i myself think this rollout has been messy af) but thats ok. Thats subjective to everybody. Dont like it, go on listen gospel then. who cares?
🎯
@@dawb86I think it's not a 180 but who wants yo be clumped w saweetie and meg? Their image is prostitute. No thanks.

Funny how people defend evil as if its not evil.

Well said 👏🏾
Demons and "evils" imagery in music gets more smoke then teens sliding bc monsters are an easy target, criticizing real life monsters comes with consequences.

Youth that go out and do things with no sense of morality or principles are literally said to have "raised all kinds of hell." ALL of the artists taking part in the making of ANY kind of music, videos, performances, etc. that go against their own sense of morality or that is in fact lacking of any at all have in essence "sold their soul." So many in fact have now that it's become almost impossible for so many to spot the difference and a ridiculous amount of the masses are just sheep being led astray by the pied pipers of the dark prince....
clear as day

She’s not even “praising” the devil. She’s using that imaginary because folks started claiming she’s a “satanist” just because she cut her hair and started wearing “weird” clothes. So, she leaned into it for an era. There are a ton of hip-hop songs literally hyping up cheating, killing people, selling drugs. Yet, nigg@‘s bump to them every day. It just screams fake Christian outrage.
Some folk just don’t like to play with certain things and have lines they don’t cross.
