    Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I made a baby blanket with the soft snuggle fabric on one side and the minky on the other side. No problems until I sewed the 4th side. I had too much minky fabric, sewn and took apart three different times. Saw your video and did the double pinning. Wow!!!! That made a huge difference. Sewed it just perfect. Thank you so much for these tips. Guessing my next blanket won't take me hours like the first one.

    What size needle do I use for the thick minky? Do I need a stretch 90/14 needle for sewing a blanket? I love using minky for the backs of my quilts but, I’d love to use a mitered edge and cut it 2” larger and put it on the top and stick it down. I hope I’m writing this to where you can understand what I’m talking about. Thanks.

    • @ShannonFabrics

      We recommend using a 90/14 Stretch needles whenever you are sewing with Cuddle minky fabrics, whether it is the thinner, smooth Cuddle® 3 or the thicker Luxe Cuddle® fabrics.

    What Length are the Clover Pins? Also if wanted to embroider a name & a little llama in the Hoop on regular Cuddle 3 really short pile or also on Cuddle Hide do I still use an Embroidery needle or a different needle? If I added Binding around the edge instead of Mitered edge so i still just sew a straight line when adding the binding or a zigzag stitch because it's a stretch fabric? Thankyou so much all your videos are awesome

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  2 роки тому

      The Clover pins that I prefer are 54mm long, a little more than 2 inches.
      You still use an Embroidery needle when working with Cuddle.
      You stitch with a straight stitch, just make sure to use a polyester thread.

    One more question please help. I'm making burp cloth
    8" x 11"with terrycloth on the back & quilting cotton on front with Dimple dot minky/Cuddle Binding.
    How long is Serpentine stitch for the cuddle binding? The stitch width I used 3.5 like you mentioned Is it inches or mm your mentioning? My machine uses mm & the stitches don't look right they're to small & to close especially if you mess up it takes forever to rip the stitches out. Please help me thanks so much

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  Рік тому

      It depends on your machine, but for a straight stitch I use 3.5mm. When I do a serpentine stitch, I change the stitches and make it narrow and long. You will need to play with your stitch length and width settings to find the one you like on your machine. For me, they are different on all of my machines. Good luck! --teresa

    Hi Shannon Fabrics, first I wanted to say your minky material is my absolute favorite!
    I’m a novice at making double sided minky blankets, and I was wondering is there anything I can do to make the two sides stay together? I was thinking maybe a fabric adhesive but I know this material can not go under a iron. Do you have any tips and tricks for me? 😀

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks, Kendra! We recommend topstitching 2-4" from the seam to hold them together and that's it! There is no need to hold the middle together as the fabrics will play well together. If you'd prefer to do something, you can quilt them together, but it isn't necessary.

      No, but after you cut it, you can throw it in the dryer with a damp washcloth for a few minutes and the Cuddle dust will end up in the lint trap. It does shed after the initial shed.
