Sometimes you just have to know when to hold em and when to fold em!! Did you know that calzone means "trouser" in italian. no idea why, but put your pizza eatring pants on and enjoy these bundles of joy.
I'm just baffled by the fact that after years of making Pizza at home I never thought about making mini calzone, lol. So yeah, definitely going to try this!
looks delicious! the mini calzones are also a bigger hit with the kids than the full size! Another great video! your quality is improving all the time!
I could see making a bunch of these and freezing for lunches thru the week; would you recommend baking them individually in a toaster oven, or baking them all then thawing/reheating in a microwave? (I'd just printed out your excellent dough tutorials yesterday, will be doing normal pizzas for the next few days). Thanks!
I think you make them up and freeze them without baking, just make sure you fully thaw before baking. Baking off then freezing could have an adverse effect on the cheese, but it's worth a crack. Lmk what you do, I might even make a follow up video or short about it. Glad you are liking my recipes. I am working on a website where I'll polish up those instructions and make PDFs. 🙂
I'd say around here (balt area) we get: cheese , spinach, meat calzone with a few variations here and there. Spinach itself is hard to make good really but a few manage it in the calzone.
They were great! Just made the extra dough I had frozen, for round two, I find it's a lot quicker to throw these together than a full pizza. Which rack do you cook them on by the way? I found I had to flip mine for even color, even on the top rack

Fun fact: "calzone" roughly translates to "pants-legs" or "socks".
D'oh, Rollon beat me to it.
@@SamwiseOutdoors haha! Priceless, you best me to me telling you I beat you to it! 🙂
Nice video.
Some New York pizza shops fry the calzones as you stated you may try.
