I have used this boat model for two seasons. What this video doesn't reveal is the extremely good performance in tough conditions for its size class.
Relatively expensive, but in return for the price, I feel that I have received performance and reliability in tough conditions, which has made the purchase reasonably priced.

Interesting boat; a lot packed into 31 ft. Not sure about locating the electrical wiring for the helm station next to the shower head.

That's a well designed boat. They really laid it out well.

Great job. We've been looking at the Targa as our next boat but I like this better.

It's very rare I write a comment. But viewers - this is an excellent review and stands out from the other "walkaround" reviews. Covers those things that really matter when you spend time on a boat - which Sargo has thought about and implemented. Foam in the hulls - the stainless steel keel strap to avoid serious damage - interior indirect lighting (boatshows always have bright lights....) and good comments about the sliding sunhatch I never understood including its sound impact - all important for living aboard and using the boat. Now as a sailor Brian one question - and perhaps worth a video - I see beached Sargos - how does that sterndrive tilt up ? can it really beach/dry out ? do let me know thanks

Seems kinda dumb to have your electrical access located in the shower.

One of the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen on a boat, indeed

Sure be nice if the aft seating could have cushions and back rest. I'm sure something could be designed and modified. We love this boat. Hoping to look at one soon. I've already been in touch:-) AWESOME video.... thank you, with more dealers would produce video's of this quality. I know if take a lot of time and effort but at the prices for these types of boats you'd think more would do it. That you SO much for taking the time and effort to make this:-)

Well thought out. They did a lot in 31ft. Perfect for what I would want.

    Brian excellent review.
These look like awesome cruising boats but lacking for the person who does a lot of fishing trips but that's not what these boats are designed for anyway. These boats are just pure genius the way they are designed and laid out. American boat builders could learn a thing or two from these Scandinavian boat builders.
The only negative I could come up with is the lack of fuel capacity. A 30' to 36' boat in my opinion should have closer to a 300 gallon capacity. These boats are fairly heavy and could use the extra fuel capacity when equipped with twin motors. Having crossed Queen Charlotte Strait and circumnavigated Haida Gwaii it was nice knowing we had extra fuel allowing us to be a little more adventurous. Not having to fuel up every 250 miles is nice too.

As said, the characteristics of this boat for tougher conditions. For me, they were decisive. The conditions of the Baltic Sea throughout the year require certain characteristics.

I was impressed except for the mirror access to the electronics behind the dash. I would add a latch mechanism and install a weatherstrip …

the access to diesel fuel by the deck storage area seems risky, There's bound to be a spill someday and it appears it'll either flow down onto the deck or into the storage space. Seems like that would make a really smelly mess. That boat is incredible and you did a superb job of pointing out all the features, thanks.

Have you set any of the Sargo boats for fishing/cruising?

  • @Eagle200R
    @Eagle200R 11 місяців тому +1

I also was really surprised to see the electricals behind the mirror. Still not sure what to make of it... As far as fishing off of it for Salmon, etc. I wonder if one could sensibly fish off of the swim platform if conditions permitted if it had railing on it like the 46ft. Lindell " Peaceful Easy Reeling" does in some of their Alaskan fishing videos? I'd also thought about the swim platform in a following sea like "gromitdaddy" but with the speed of these boats hopefully we would already be back to a calm place or just get on top of a wave and surf along with it. These Sargos' are kind of like middle linebackers to me, not really elegant, but rather form following function. They have so much packed into them I wish some of the other boats that would fish better were set up like the Sargos' on the inside or visa versa. Like the aluminum catamarans... already set up to FISH! Ughhh Trying to love two women (types of boats) is driving me insane...

It's interesting to hear the different descriptive language that presenters use on the same boat.
I personally wouldn't regard a Sargo as elegant. It's built for practicality and taking on all weathers like Botnia Targas.
I think the forward area could be repackaged to make the heads and shower compartment a touch bigger. Having a space for random storage to port before the cabin seems a bit pointless.

Do all Sargos use double pane windows or is that just on the 45? Are they insulated on the hull?
