This was the first fragrance that caused a stranger in public to approach me & ask what I was wearing. She wrote it down too. It’ll always have a place in my collection
I love this fragrance. Not as much as the original LR but still. It’s fresh, clean, masculine. Garners compliments, lasts and projects a decent time, $100 something for a 150ml bottle, really not expensive. Nothing to dislike except the likeness to Sauvage, if someone doesn’t like Sauvage, I do so to me it’s a plus. I own both and they’re different enough to me to not be redundant. I get where you’re coming from, knocking on it because it’s unoriginal. I still feel like you’re extra hard on it tbh but to each their own.
Comment two reply lol. Happy you enjoy it and for the reasons stated. There's quite a bit to dislike imo as I feel like every other Prada released is a better scent , better built, unique, clean, fresh, versatile, some of the best clean scents in the designer game of all time. When you release those and then you release something that smells like Sauvage, it's a huge drop off for me and if you can't be top 5 in your own brand, I do have to do my due diligence here and say it.
I like it. My mom bought me this for Christmas one year, and it came with a body wash as well. I prefer it to Sauvage because it's not so harsh, but it definitely is almost the same exact thing, just more subdued I would say.
I really enjoy this fragrance, probably because it was a gift from my mother more than anything else. But I will acknowledge that it smells synthetic and is not daring in the least. I also agree with you that the Luna Rossa line is my least favorite from Prada. It pales in comparison to the other lines you’ve mentioned. It’s so different, in fact, that the signature aesthetic found in Prada Amber and Prada L’Homme is unrecognizable in the Luna Rossa line. But that is OK. Businesses and artists can still accomplish something meaningful (minus the greed) by producing products that serve different audiences. Not everyone is a connoisseur or even wants the most realistic, highest quality ingredients. Most people just want to smell good and and receive compliments without breaking the bank. Regardless, I respect your opinion and enjoyed your review!
Carbon is nothing new, but it’s light years better than the Ocean flankers Prada has been focusing on since L’Oréal took over. Daniela Roche is gone and you can tell when you smell them.
Appreciate your take, I don't agree on that, I don't even think if I made a top 500 designer scents of all time list that this would even make that list. Just can't do it.
Long time follower of the channel. I think you can do without being defensive as it takes up a lot of time in your review. You will always have haters and it’s best to not engage.
Luna Rossa Black is nice, not unique beause it steals from Van Cleeg MIP and also Bvlgari Black but they're gone so technically it is unique. However, the scent itself, the build, the blend is outstanding. Never too sweet nor aromatic, it balances on a line really well
I’m triple commenting cause I frankly can’t believe you knock LRC for its “synthetic” nature then bring up Le Male and Boss Bottled as great examples of better scents, one can argue of those being synthetic too.
He never said synthetic = bad. He said it’s synthetic to a fault, which it definitely is. He loves many synthetic smelling fragrances. He said that Le Male and Boss Bottled are better because they have personality. He never said you shouldn’t like this fragrance, he just said why he didn’t.
Most mainstream fragrances are built upon synthetic compounds. So yes, Le Male & Boss Bottled are synthetically made but so is Tom Fords, Amouage, Parfums de Marly among others. I'm knocking LRC on many points as stated in the video. Prada is known for beautiful clean scents like Amber, L'Homme and Infusion which are all excellently blended, present some if not the best clean scents on the market and then you get "this". It's lower tier within it's own brand which isn't good. Boss Bottled still to this day is a statement perfume and so is Le Male, you cannot compare a flanker here to two big statement flagship top sellers of each brand since the 90's which carried the brands in the men's aisle for the past 30 years. Hope this helps, and I know you want to defend this scent but there's no need to. You enjoy it, that's great!
Hey Mark, i’m wearing rien intense incense this evening. I bought that fragrance a while ago based on your videos always about it and i love it! Thank you for fueling my love and passion of fragrances, it’s truly an amazing part of my life! :) I love your videos and listening to your knowledge about fragrances, it’s easy to see that you’re very genuine and passionate about it.
This review seals the deal and confirms why I've mostly stopped watching fragrance review channels -- don't matter if "honest" ones or the free bottle brigade (FBB) folks. In the end it's just a dude giving an opinion. This fragrance is best in the line, and prob the better ones Prada has made. And yes I've tried them all including my signature from decade ago Amber Pour Homme. Carbon is an easy going, soapier, cleaner, less obnoxious Sauvage. This isn't a "teenager line" but rather a beginner friendly line and a line for those who want mass appealing, but not too popular as Sauvage. When was the last time you heard somebody wearing friggin LR Carbon? I sure haven't. It's a very versatile, clean, easy smell that's not trying to be anything. At discounters it's cheap and it's far better than most mass appealing frags at the mall priced $150+
Happy to see I sealed the deal as you wrote. You should stop watching social media content on fragrances as it's exactly what you said one dude saying his opinion. It's just like one guy saying a fragrance is sexy, or panty dropper, mass appealing etc.. to who? him. Nice to you see the light now. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Carbon. I highly disagree with many of your takes on Carbon but appreciate another side of the coin.
I got a 10ml luna rossa ocean edp a couple of days ago, and it's pretty nice. I'm not super pumped on vanilla, but some of them are really good. I smelled carbon the same day, and I felt basically the same way, meh, nah.. I agree that CK be wasn't really very popular, I wore it for years, I still wear it sometimes, it's one of the fragrances that I'll never get tired of for whatever reason. I just love it.
Like many noobs, Carbon was one of the first I went for once I started getting into this as a hobby. It's an ok frag. Nothing more, nothing less. I wear it once or twice a year to the office. I get a bit of an anise/licorice-type facet that I do enjoy, but other than that, it's just a generic male-targeted shower gel scent.
…i own this line…while these are not your fathers’ Prada, they are easy to pull, no fuss, everyday fragrances that smell better than your natural bo and convey cleanliness and personal consciousness and some small amount of civilization…bottles are handsome, relatively inexpensive and in spite of too many flankers in a line that should’ve been discontinued a couple of years ago, still eminently wearable…
Bren was smart. I almost blind bought the OG at launch at duty free, I decided to smell it which is unusual for me as I usually blind buy off new releases and at that time Prada didn't miss with me. Oh I never looked again at the EDT.
One of my starter fragrances! I don't reach for it as much nowadays, but I could never hate it. Good price point too. Luna Rossa Black, which I also have, is more unique. Super powdery. But I like it about the same as Carbon tbh.
@robes08 Yeah i've only sampled ocean edt and the edp didn't bother to get either one maybe Luna Rossa black would be the one to get haven't tried it yet.
Hey robes! Can you check out Acqua Di Gio Parfum, specifically the 2024 formulation? Frag influencers keep pushing that it’s 90% like Profumo because that’s what sells, but to my nose it’s much more similar to the true best ADG which is Essenza. Would love to hear your opinion!
Idk if the algorithm, or what... but seems like every vid i see from you, you're trashing the cologne, (maybe that's why you're decanting it) 🤷♂️ lol... i know your not into top this, top that, but can you do like a 25 recommendations that would be somewhere between $100-200, cus and a lot of the time, i see you say, don't spend that amount "on that, get this" can do a verison of that, but your style, maybe like 5 unique, 5 versatile, winter, summer, everyday, etc... appreciate your content man! 🫡💯
I've been doing quite a bit of trashing because the scents I'm speaking about this past 4-6 months have been for the decanting site which isn't really my taste, so yes that is about right. I do need to get back into my seasonal lists. Thanks for the comment!
What does it smell like Marc. After this video I have no more info. Give me information, give me your nose. Is it Prada, is it Sauvage... What about the Daniela Andrier signature. Ambroxan, where is it, what does it smell like, why can't It be a worthy componant. Or is it the composition? I need more. And I know you have it. Give me.
It's an unboxing? What do you expect from me lol. It is Prada, not Sauvage on sticker. There is no Andrier signature here, actually I said it smelled off from her previous work. Ambroxan history lesson? I may do a video on what ambroxan smells like but you should know this, if not google it my friend for easy answers.

Never understood this fragnance, it’s basically for people who want Sauvage, but don’t want to say they’re wearing Sauvage. At that point, just wear Sauvage
I've tested it and frankly is uber close to Sauvage EDT and it's by no means smoother as some reviewers point it out. The only Sauvage that I've bought is Elixir; the OG and the other flankers are just smelling like shower gels/deodorants - like Malizia or Nivea in Europe, but at Dior level prices. Considering the lavender and the metallic notes, Prada could have gone for a more modern take on Platinum Egoiste or a sharper and fresher take on Sartorial. Both are better DNAs than Sauvage EDT. Cheers!
@@MoahGentle Making a clone like the dozens of Arab ones is lame. Plus the price difference vs Sauvage EDT is not a big one (70 € vs 100 € for the 100 ml at discounters). Why get the Prada? Kudos for Hermes for not capitalizing and going the H24 way - the EDP and Herbes Vives are very good.
You won't believe me but my small town has no sephora. I mostly blind buy or buy samples online to sniff and discover. I smelled the EDT at a Duty Free when it was first released and it was real bad so when I see Luna Rossa bottles in any store I have no interest at all to sniff them.

Curve by Liz Claiborne gives me that exact same thing, I sold at least 20 bottles of Curve on wearings alone and one baby was made.
