- World-renowned actress Priyanka Chopra was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador at our 70th anniversary Children’s Takeover event. In her speech she shared some powerful thoughts on what drives her commitment to UNICEF.
Priyanka first became involved with UNICEF nearly ten years ago. She has witnessed our work for children across India and has tirelessly advocated for girls’ empowerment. I cant comment whether she is a pro Hindu or not and simply because she does not speak about the violent incidents happening in Kashmir or within country does not make her less deserving to be a part of UNICEF. As a human we have alot of flaws so i cant really blame her for dat. If the Govt. Of India themselves cant look into the matter she cant do much. She is an ambassador. For example, She may address the issue in the global platform but her speech alone will not suffice if the people and Govt. within the country does not come out wit any mechanism to deal with the on going issues.
