@@benswish1962 There were rumors among the public about Saville liking underage girls, and those in entertainment had heard the rumors about him shagging corpses (made public in a Lee And Herring Sketch in the 90's), so the papers would have heard that, even off the record.
Exactly and he was a just a kid andhad only been part of the showbiz world just over a year at the time of his observation s. If he had it sussed then everyone working with Savile one the radio would've knew.
One sentence he uttered which was no direct accusation....yeah, he really tried to expose him. He shat himself and thought "Fuck the kids, I want my career" like everyone else.
@@rnw2739 no on would of listened as he was the bad guy! Front man of sex pistols with that evil punk music demonized by the british media while the bum licked savile. Whom was best chums with the royal family and even old Thatcher
Liars, the pair of them. I worked in a hospital in the early 90s. I'd only just started working there when I said to a colleague that Saville had raised a lot of money for the NHS. The look the other guy gave me really took me aback. He told me straight out that Saville was a sex offender who used his fund raising to get access to vulnerable people. Now, this was not a hospital where Saville had visited or partnered with, nonetheless his reputation was known there. His notoriety was widespread. For a national newspaper editor to claim he hadn't heard is simply inconceivable!
Well, unless your colleagues were Tony Blackburn and you're Piers Morgan how have you established them as liars? You've simply implied that you and your work colleagues protected Savile. Albeit you only had hearsay evidence.
@@wendyhannan2454 The royal family knew as they have everyone carefully vetted by their security and their own private police force. They had Jill Dando killed because she was about to expose Saville. She made the mistake of telling her fiancé and he in turn reported back to his employers the royal family. He was then promoted. They could have made it look like an accident but they made a point of killing her, execution style as a warning to others. Saville was also friends with Thatcher and gave her information on MP's who were paedophiles, she was then able to blackmail them and get them to do what she wanted. Saville along with the Krays supplied children to anyone that wanted them. It makes you sick to think how celebrities such as Barbra Windsor and many more were great friends with these monsters. They all knew what was going on.
2 girls went to the mirror around '95 and said Saville had abused them. They don't push it to court because they were scared. Morgan must've heard about it.
As a kid in the 1980s I knew Savile was a beast. My father was a psychiatric nurse at Carstairs. Savile was banned from there. In the 80s. Everybody knew.
My aunt and uncle once said to me when i was a late teen in the mid- 90s and watching some of jim'll fix it at their home that savile was and l quote' ''a dodgy and shifty looking f***er'' before everything about him came out....Pity that nobody at the top didn't suss him
Is Piers Morgan seriously trying to tell us he knew nothing when it was the very paper he edited that had journalists who had tried to break the story but were told to back off?
Of course he did, Louise Theroux knew and questioned Saville about it in his documentary. You can’t tell me he knew and none of these people did, no way.
lf they had exposed him. The money that he raised for charities and hostipals would be withdrawn from them. He used that to deflect rumours and wrongdoings about him all his life
Back in 1987 one of the nurses I knew who worked at Stoke Mandeville told me that "when Jimmy Savile is around, we lock our doors in the Nurses' Home"......................
An old friend of mine told me years ago that his parents never let him go on jim'll fix it when he watched it. Because they had always found savile's appearence and behaviour on television susipcous....how right they were..some people had seen right through savile. but sadly. Not at the top of the people who mattered most.
@Jerry Rawlings The odd thing is though, and I'm not saying Tony knew anything but he says he didn't like Savile and yet he appeared as a guest on an episode of This Is Your Life where Savile was being honored. Funny him making an appearance for a man he says he didn't like.
That was such a perfect remark by Blackburn. As editor of a major tabloid, Morgan would definitely have heard the rumours about Saville back in the day. Both these men are covering up what they knew.
@@robertmcelwaine7024 I expect a lot of the early Radio 1 DJ's were invited to Saville's 'This Is Your Life' and maybe Tony Blackburn decided to go as it would have looked bad if he didn't.
I did a British Rail commercial with Savile, and he had a camper van at the beach, always surrounded by children, parents pushing them towards him. Gave me the creeps.
Back in the late 80s I worked in a shop on Marylebone High Street and Saville was an occasional customer. At the time all of us in the shop knew of the rumours about Saville so how the likes of Blackburn, Morgan et al can say they hadn't is mind boggling.
You need evidence and he was always threatening even on his interviews. He would say things. He was protected bdcause of stuff he could reveal. He said stuff like "im the most feared person in girls schools" and he said once "i know where the bodies are buried." He also would joke about his court case.but he was sending messages out to anyone who might out him that he would bring down the establishment. I remember pete burns saying on big brother when savike did a guest appearance about the secrets savile would take to his grave. We dont know the full extent of it or how deep it goes
Well he didn't know anything of any substance. in 1978 he talked about "rumours" without giving any details in the clips that have been aired. Years later with hindsight talking to Piers Morgan he claims "Kids all knew" - yet millions of kids wrote into the BBC desperate to appear on Savile's shows - hardly evidence of wide spread knowledge among kids. Lydon just picked a famous person de jour (in 1978) to say something he figured was edgy. It turned out a few decades years later, using hindsight, to appear as though he knew more than he self evidently did. Best case he said "I bet he's into all kinds of seedy stuff. I've heard rumours" which is useless in terms of protecting kids or investigating Savile. We've all heard rumours about the lead singer of soft cell and Richard Gere too (except these infamous ones are entirely false) Rumours are as often untrue as true. If Lydon had genuinely known Savile was abusing kids in 1978 then why he did he do nothing at all about it aside from saying something dumb about killing celebrities in an interview? And he didn't say "I want to kill Savile because he abuses kids" he sat there like a prize twat saying he had a long list of famous people he wanted to kill. I mean jeez - I'll give him a bit of credit, in the Piers Morgan interview his expression suggests he knows how much of a prat he used to be. Morgan brushes over that because Lydon got a lucky hit using hindsight. My advice would be to listen to the rest of that interview and see who else he names and then ask yourself was Lydon actually aware of anything or just picking one of the most famous names at the time to drop to try and get some attention. The idea he was banned from the BBC for what he said about Savile is even more ridiculous when you hear what he actually said about killing celebrities and filming it. What reason would the BBC or anyone else have for hiring him? He had no talent and just said stupid things in interviews - many of which (as the interviewer points out) couldn't have been broadcast anyway. If Lydon is so sure what he said was true and wasn't libel then why didn't he publish it? I'd suggest because he didn't really know anything.
Everyone protected Saville. In the 70s a rookie copper caught Saville in roundhay Park Leeds in his roller with a young girl in the early hours of the morning , the rookie questioned him but Saville told him to get lost or he would lose his job. The rookie reported it to the sarg when he got back to the station but was told to just drop it, forget it. The rookie was moved to another part of town and told not to report Saville again. This was told to me by a relative of a copper who worked at the same station.
Yes but if they said they did know they would be accused of not doing anything.about it and People who did report it nurses were sacked from.jobs.so you cant win.. im curious about why it all came out after he died and not before. They didnt dare while he was alive because of who else he would name. So many in the higher echelons of the establishment. We know now but nothing we can do about it
If Piers Morgan didn't know about Savile then he must have been doing a fairly shit job as a newspaper editor. Many of his contemporaries have come out and said they had plenty of allegations and evidence and were ready to go to print but had obstacles put in their way. Show me a national newspaper editor who dosnt have a clue what stories his competitors are on to.
Good point....When phone hacking was going on at the sunday mirror, when piers morgan was its editor...Why didnt they hack savile's phone, if their was evidence that he had sexually abused anyone. But l think some people in the tabloids were scared to go after savile...Because he used his money he raised for charties and hospitals to blackmail anyone in the press that if they had exposed him. Those charities and hospitals would not get the money that savile had raised for them.
If you were asked to prove that statement, that they both knew, you wouldn't be able. And there in lies the issue. It was rumoured for years that Saville was an abuser but all anyone, who wanted to do anything about it, had were rumours and not facts. Anyone that had facts, should have done something.
Everybody knew at the BBC, but he cleverly hid behind a cloak of charity work. People queued to file past his fancy casket and gaze at what was revealed as a monster.
I had the misfortune to meet him three times at a school/village fete and at the London marathon. He gave me the creeps when he was on tv but in person he was vile and creepy beyond words,
NO THEY DID NOT - PEADOPHILES ARE SECRETIVE, BlACKBURN AND MORGAN ARE TELLING THE TRUTH , THEY THOUGHT HE WAS ODD - WHY IS THAT SO HARD FOR PEOPLE TO BELIEVE - PEADOPHILEs DO NOT GO AROUND TELLING THEIR CRIMES TO COLLEAGUES. - U CONSPIRACY IDIOTS!
I find it such a struggle to believe that no one in the business knew. He definitely had a lot of folk covering his tracks and it makes me worry who might be currently hiding in plain sight right now doing the same and being covered for by others in showbiz
Exactly he wasn’t the only one, there was others, it was in the papers when the scandal broke, but now they don’t get mentioned, it’s only him, I think some of them involved where his bosses.
Was told about him in the early 70s - there was a band staying in our hotel and they had appeared at a Jimmy Savile gig. Said he was up to his usual tricks with the young girls!
It was a culture of fear at the BBC. If anybody spoke out against Savile, they would have been sacked or banned by the corporation and their careers could have been ruined.
My uncle was a post man working in London. I came to visit him back in the 1980's. Told I wanted to go on Jim I'll fix it. My uncle told me to do no such thing and "to stay away from that filthy bastard!" If my uncle knew then others close to him knew as well..
I love how tony turned the tables on piers there.... it seems to me there has been a whole string of interviews with people with the interviewer trying to point the finger and say “you must have known and why didn’t you blow the whistle ect” And tony beautifully turned that on piers before he got the chance.... well done.
As a young person I always hated Top of the Pops when Jimmy Saville was presenting. Just thought he was ugly & creepy. Hated Jim l Fix it as well. Had no idea of what was going on as a viewer but why are all these people playing innocent.
To be honest Blackburn seems a bit “nice but dim”. Interesting that Saville wasn’t generally liked as a personality. Piers Morgan is talking out his ass though. There is no way a tabloid newspaper editor didn’t know. Couldn’t prove? That’s another matter. But of course he knew.
Tony said he never liked him, so if that was the case, why did he go to jimmy's this is your life? And state how he listened to Jimmy's show on the radio? 🙄
I've been to leaving events for senior colleagues I didn't like, just because our company expected us to. It's just part of life... doesn't mean anything either way. Plus a DJ needs publicity and it was prime-time TV..
I Knew what Jimmy was doing in the 80s as I was told by someone in the industry so if anyone says that did not know it’s a lie they all knew in the industry end off
You did not know. You were told an anecdote by "someone in the industry" who may have been passing to you an anecdote he or she had heard. This is not knowing. I hope you are never called for jury service.
"He's a bit odd" is not a rumour, that's just an opinion. The Saville files reflects how spineless society is if one person could command such fear when a significant number of people now claim to have known about his alleged activities.
Back in the early 90s, I was told by a friend who had worked at the BBC that Savile was a 'dirty old man' and you should never leave your kids alone with him.
Personally, I thought (and still think more so to this day, as a 58 year old man) that all that Radio 1 DJ mob back in the '70's were weird. I am confident that MOST of them went around kiddie fiddling because they weren't exactly stallions or good looking men. All a bit weedy and weak. They all played around I reckon. A right bunch of odd-balls.
There probably was a lot of under aged sex. Dave Lee Travis was likely spot on when he said they didn't exactly ask girls for a birth certificate when the girls were throwing themselves at you. Now I'm not condoning under aged sex, but I can understand that. I think there is a difference between having opportunistic sex with someone who looks and claims to be of age and is shoving her t*ts in your face, and the predators like Saville who went out their way to prey on vulnerable pre-teens.
Certain ex BBC lady who died a few years ago. VERY heavily involved in "finding" nice 15/16 year old educated girls .Who would be "looked after "by the top members of society . She was friends with Charles and Camila

There was also a rumour in certain circles that Charles has had the pleasure of Catherine Zeta Jones 😎
allwrighty100 Watch the UA-cam video of David Baddiel and Frank Skinner from 1998 when they refer to Jimmy Saville, obviously a lot more people knew what was going on.
I once worked with a man for many years who was doing the same. Nobody who worked with him, had a clue. I remember going to his house once, and it was full of foster kids. The house was bedlam, and the noise and chaos was madness. At the time I briefly wondered why anybody would do that, but I never for a 2nd twigged. Ultimately he got found out, and hanged himself before he the police could apprehend him. His colleagues, me included, were totally shocked afterwards, and the police offered counselling. But it just never made sense. It was as if there was the person we knew, and this other person nobody knew about. What you have to realise is, these people are very clever at hiding what they are up to. Very, very creepy!
@@drcarp7377 A remarkable story there. But the big thing about Savile was that he came across as a creepy guy (when I was a kid, I couldn't watch Top Of The Pops when he was presenting. I'm 57 now) and also he did very little to hide what he was up to. He relied on the many people who knew about it to keep quiet, which they did for various reasons.
@@allwrighty100 I think it’s easy to say that that now in hindsight. But in those days, specially in the glam rock period, the artist were all pretty out there. Sweet, Bolan, Bowie, Slade, Gary Glitter, and Elton John, we’re all wearing OTT outfits, make up, wigs, etc. Compared to them, Saville wasn’t all that extreme. Of course we also now know what the likes of Glitter was a pedo too. And if there was any industry or job, apart from vicar, that provided you plenty of opportunities to get close to young people, it was being a pop star.
You may not be aware that BBC disk jockeys were never regular, working 9-5. They were "talent", engaged in contracts of usually 13 weeks, each. Other than maybe for special events or meetings, they were not usually around each other. They would go into Broadcasting House, do their show, then leave. Some had "celebrity" appearances at shop openings, etc. or they had other side gigs. Saville's shows were usually on a Sunday and a lot of Saville's Travels was pre-recorded, anyway. Therefore, he would unlikely have been around BH very much in the week. But, sure, a lot of regular staffers ... the producers and support staff ... probably heard the rumours.
Paul M. Naa, no way. I worked at one of ‘his’ hospitals in Leeds and the entire city knew what an absolute creepy weirdo he was. I still believe he had a hand in Peter Sutcliffe’s murders too. He was pals with the guy ffs!
It was a horrible era. If you got through childhood in the 1980s, without being sexually abused, you were probably lucky. All kids were fair game, and most people in authority couldn’t care less. Schools were full of nonces - two teachers at my school went to prison for child abuse. I nearly got abducted by a pedophile myself when I was 11 - they used to drive around neighbourhoods at night, looking for kids, completely unopposed by the police. One tried to drag me into a car, but my friend saved me
I suppose you think they've eradicated all that now eh? It's worse than ever today and trafficking is a global business for predators, including the powerful, rich and famous
Here's a thing . If the Establishment wanted to set up a first line of defence, what better way than to set up a confidential reporting scheme for victims and consequently use THAT scheme to filter out all claims against its members.
Scottish comedian Jerry Sadowitz was THE ONLY person apparently brave enough to speak up at the time. If you hunt about (real hard because everything has been deleted) you'll find several pieces of audio footage where mr Sadowitz Says exactly what Saville is, and how everyone knows fine well. The BBC 'buried' this comedian and he basically never appeared on tv again. I suppose thats better than what happened to Dando and Diana.
edwardo edwards You're wrong. Sadowitz was by no means the only one. John Lydon mentioned it in a radio interview which was then cut. David Icke was onto him too. Even Baddiel and Skinner made a joke about Savile and eight-year-old girls.
edwardo edwards interesting that you say that the BBC buried Jerry Sadowitz (possibly for speaking out against Jimmy Savile), I remember him as a very funny and talented comedian on TV back in the 90s ... one of my next door neighbors, I think his name was Jake Lampeur (or something like that) used to be Sadowitz's manager back then (and also Craig Charle's) and I did ask him why Sadowitz wasn't on the tv back then... and his words as I clearly remember them were something along the lines of ... "Well, Jerry Sadowitz spoke out against many powerful people and it meant that many opportunities were taken away from him but he will always be a working class hero" ..... (this was said to me in the early 2000s). Now we know that him speaking out against Jimmy Saville and his sex offenses do make him a hero, he should be allowed the dignity of being allowed a come back on TV.
David Boris Fernandez Well, I think it was that AND Sadowitz's predilection for tasteless, controversial (if extremely funny) humour. Although twenty years on, it's hard to say if it would be seen nearly as extreme. Jerry has had some pretty limiting health issues too, by all accounts.
Anyone who called out Jimmy Savile before his death is brave to do so even if it's in the form of a joke that attempts to ridicule him. I'm not saying that Sadowitz is the most perfect, most pleasant guy in the world or the most talented but I remember his show 15+ years ago and I remember he was different and entertaining but not stand out memorable. If Sadowitz wants to not have his artistic material on youtube for free that is his prerogative. There are quotes on youtube regarding the Saville joke that he did anyway. Also good on Frank Skinner and Louis Theroux for making 'some' attempt to expose Jimmy Savile before his death (Andrew Neil also had a go at him once in an interview also and he was evasive and slippery so good on him). Have you looked into what Savile actually did in Jersey or the favors he allegedly did for people in power using children ? the guy was a deceitful, manipulative and abusive monster of the highest order and it says much about British society at the time that he was continuously given free reign to operate in this way but people turned the other cheek or claimed that they were not aware, this unfortunately doesn't stop at people in showbiz but also the police establishment who were given numerous complaints about Savile which were not followed through so that justice could be served instead justice was stopped dead in its; tracks.
I had an acquaintance who's brother worked for the BBC, and he as good as said what Savile was up to, and that was in 1988. I believe many at the BBC knew, and in the media as a whole. They are trying to deny it now. I believe Tony may not have known quite how bad Savile was, but I'm sure he would have been aware of what he was capable of - that goes for Morgan, too.
I worked at the Beeb in London in 1980. I was shocked at the “culture” there. Everyone knew about Savile. And Blackburn is being extremely economical with the truth in this clip. Savile used to own nightclubs all over the country. There was one I occasionally frequented as a teen in the 70s in Bournemouth. Blackburn, and nearly all the other Radio 1 DJs, used to guest there. So they all knew.
Everyone at the BBC knew what Saville was like, and many knew exactly what he was doing. my mums best friend worked in costume department in BBC, and she told us even back in the early 1970`s most of the staff would not let their kids go to the BBC Staff Christmas party or any of the shows, if Saville was attending. She used to write to my mum and tell her about Saville and others I am 54, and maybe I had some sort of 6th sense, but he always gave me the creeps when he was on TV, Jim`ll Fix it was horrific sometimes when he got kids to sit on his knee. It just seemed wrong to me as a young kid back then, most of my friends thought the same. Maybe back then kids had a bit more sense, I grew up in Belfast and have lived there all my life, so perhaps my generation could sense danger and were naturally suspicious of weirdo`s. There were others too that made me nervous, Rod Hull springs to mind, although he has never been implicated as far as I know. Rolf Harris was a big shock, I never suspected him, so we can`t always be right.
@@TWW-zk9gw As I said I don`t think his name was ever put forward, but using that Emu thing to grab people was just sick really, it was mainly adults he did it to, but I have seen him do it to kids as well. I am sure there were others that have involved, and have slipped through the net.
John Lydon knew about Savile's behaviour before 1978; so how can a newspaper editor like Piers that is privy to information have no knowledge of this? Piers, Blackburn and others in the media "are" liars.
there is absolutely no way blackburn can claim he knew nothing, he was a radio 1 dj and was at the bbc the same time as saville was, they all mixed together and knew what was going on behind the scenes of top of the pops, i saw a programme on them once and they would invite young girls back to their dressing room after the show, they were all at it, the bbc was just one big knocking shop back in the day! bbc bosses were quized about saville and they would say "oh that's just jim", they all turned a blind eye!
Of course they all knew. Years ago Johnny Rotten talked about all the kiddy-fiddling Savile was doing and he got silenced. All these people knew fine well what he was doing - he was abusing boys and girls backstage. How could they not have known or seen. He didn’t exactly hide it much. There’s even video on screen of him trying to put his hand in a young girls panties and she is trying to move away.
But if Tony Blackburn didn't catch Savile in the act, it's only hearsay and rumours about a colleague. Hearing or thinking someone is a perv isn't evidence. Think about how you actually know about your colleagues' homelife?
Blackburn is being somewhat economical with the truth, to coin a phrase. In the 70s he used to appear, as did most of the other Radio 1 DJs, at a nightclub in Bournemouth that Savile owned. A very convenient memory in this clip.
@@jacquelinestewart3820 It's A Knockout, hosted by Stuart Hall. He sentenced in 2012 to 2.5yrs but was released half way through his term in prison. Despite plaeding guilty to several charges, but not of rape, he insisted that some of the claimaints were gold diggers. He's shown complete contempt for his victims. He preyed on young girls from 1967 to 1991. Staff at the BBC knew he was taking underage girls in to his changing room, but because of who he was, nothing was acted upon the claims. He assaulted many BBC female workers too, but the were too scared to saying anything. This is the power that both he and Saville had at the BBC

No one said anything ? Ian Hislop asked Savile on "Have I got news for you" .. "What do you do in that caravan" ? Savile replied "Anyone I can get my hands on".
A mate's brother did a few TOTPs, and later worked for the BBC. Rumours filtered as far as me, that Savile was a very bad individual. I'm just a Joe who works in a factory - If I knew, how could these two not know ?
I have to admit the whole TIYL thing was probably cobblerz. There may have been people like relatives that genuinely knew the subjects, but apart from that it was just any professional associate they would find that would be recognised by the audience. It was paid work to deliver an “amusing anecdote” or say how great they were. My mum thought they had big parties afterwards. Lol! It was a TV production like any other and publicity for the celeb guests as much as the subjects.
They also did a lot of condensing in much the same way as happens in a biopic. In one I watched recently they made the subject’s previous marriage sound a lot shorter than it was. A minute later it was implied that the marriage was only just still in existence when the next spouse arrived. That was rubbish too. They were divorced already. All smoke and mirrors like anything else on TV.
A different world when TB was a young DJ. How many men in their early twenties would have asked the age of a girl when she was throwing herself at him at a party back then. Back in rhe early70s i was at a party when a girl came on to me at a party. Onky when we were interrupted did i find out she was 14. Luckily i didn't get to far with her but if it had happened these days id have ended up in court
Savile had newspapers settle out of court after threatening to sue, of course Morgan knew about him, they were frightened of him like all the other cowards.
This gets overstated. The reality is that he did nothing about it and only made one very short comment saying he'd heard seedy rumours. If he'd truly known then it's pretty disgraceful he didn't do more.
Nah, in the same interview he said that he would like to kill 200 people on camera, and that he only wanted 5 people to live. Say you want to kill everybody, and than there's always a bad guy among them.

Back in 2008 I had a new girlfriend (she's my best mate now!). I innocently said to her, "Isn't Rolf Harris nice to animals on his TV show?" She said, "No! That's not the real person!", then told me this story. A few years before that, a friend of hers had taken up squatting in empty properties. He went into an empty house "near London", found that it belonged to Rolf Harris, and then found some child-porn on the computer there. He figured his squatting would be seen by the police as by far the lesser of two evils, so he went to the police but was intercepted and done over by "thugs" who took the computer away. Remember, I was told this in 2008, and Harris wasn't implicated for another three years. It's not hard to imagine Savile having similar things done to whistleblowers.
Notice the classic signs of lying. When Blackburn puts it to Morgan that as a newspaper editor, he must have heard rumours, Morgan deflects the assertion by mentioning that other people have asked him that, thereby stating an innocent fact. Then when Blackburn forces the point that he must have, he says, "No, not really". Then he says that they heard rumours that Savile was odd, which is probably true but not the whole story. Notice that he manages to mostly make true statements. This is what happens when we have to lie, it puts us under psychological stress, so we try to say things that are true that don't reveal what we want to remain hidden. He's actually not that good a liar for someone renowned for being dishonest.
Love that line from Fluff years ago when challenging Blackburn on his "reported" age: "Your age is like your hair, a complete work of fiction!" Just like this puke-inducing nonsense. "Oh, we didn't know anything. Honest we didn't." Bollocks! If Jerry Sadowitz knew in 19 frickin' 87, then Blackburn and Morgan knew too. Too worried about Savile's lawyers and their careers methinks.
Mike Williams Thanks Darlin'. How about those who were wise to the abuse at the time and said nothing? What would they be then? Presumably lower than a twat...cunts?....fecal matter clinging to anal hair? You tell me.
endrightwinglunacy Thinking Savile was weird, creepy and unpleasant, which many people (including me) did. is a long way from knowing them to be paedophiles. Savile was a vile person but he wasn't an idiot. What he did he did out of sight. Wanting other people to blame does not make them guilty. Knowing Savile doesn't mean knowing everything about him. I know these are hard concepts and you would like the world to be less complicated. You might want to get an adult to explain it to you.
Mike Williams Ah, the 'ol talking-down-to me-routine-to-make-your-argument-sound- superior. Exactly what are your defending here? The fact that people were aware of the rumours and allegations surrounding Savile, but did little or nothing about it, allowing him to continue abusing individuals for decades?Of course there *were* attempts to confront Savile, that usually went nowhere beyond a cursory talk with the man, who waved the accusations away with his cigar while claiming "persecution". Savile dodged many bullets.. And he did carry on this behaviour in plain sight according to the testimony of those around him who saw underage teenage girls leaving his caravan and dressing rooms, and the statements of those who regarded his behaviour as strange or suspicious. Was this behaviour not worth further investigation? Are you defending the fact that it wasn't investigated? How peculiar.
endrightwinglunacy The fact that some people may have known what Savile was up to and failed to act does not automatically implicate everyone who knew him. Another difficult idea for you to get your brain around.
Tony Blackburn saying that he didn’t like him yet he appeared on his this is your life and he gave at least 2 interviews paying tribute to him after he’d died. Shows how fake the show business world is
johnny rotten formerly of the sex pistols said on a BBC radio talk show in 1978 that savile was a hypocrite and was into all kinds of seediness...But strangely enough it was'nt aired until after his death...hmmmmm?
My mum was in Broadmoor. In the late 80s, 1988/1989 I went too see her there twice. She was on Preston ward part of Lancashire House. I had heard in the news that Saville was a celebrity supporter of Broadmoor. I asked 2 of the female nurses if he had any say in running the place. They both said no. Anyone who's anyone in the BBC or thus business in those days will have known Exactly what Saville was doing and likely witnessed something. Just imagine all the people who would have been named and shamed for knowing if Saville had been around to tell the tale.
As kids when we used to watch Jim’ll Fix It….when he used to put the Jim’ll Fix It medals around the girls necks my sister always used to say that Saville gave her the creeps🫣
The BBC weren’t alone. All the red tops knew as did the broadsheets. ITV knew as well. The police, nhs, politicians were complicit. I remember reading newspaper editors were afraid of being sued by him.

If John Lydon knew, how did others so close to him not?

John Smith Sanctimonious and self-righteous, all rolled into one, Go and polish your halo!
edwardo edwards interesting that you say that the BBC buried Jerry Sadowitz (possibly for speaking out against Jimmy Savile), I remember him as a very funny and talented comedian on TV back in the 90s ... one of my next door neighbors, I think his name was Jake Lampeur (or something like that) used to be Sadowitz's manager back then (and also Craig Charle's) and I did ask him why Sadowitz wasn't on the tv back then... and his words as I clearly remember them were something along the lines of ...
Bum Bandit Corporation
Everyone at the BBC knew what Saville was like, and many knew exactly what he was doing. my mums best friend worked in costume department in BBC, and she told us even back in the early 1970`s most of the staff would not let their kids go to the BBC Staff Christmas party or any of the shows, if Saville was attending. She used to write to my mum and tell her about Saville and others
I am 54, and maybe I had some sort of 6th sense, but he always gave me the creeps when he was on TV, Jim`ll Fix it was horrific sometimes when he got kids to sit on his knee.
Rod Hull? No way!
@@TWW-zk9gw As I said I don`t think his name was ever put forward, but using that Emu thing to grab people was just sick really, it was mainly adults he did it to, but I have seen him do it to kids as well.

+tehfoon Well spotted. Morgan's peeper's and body language are well furtive here.
tehf00n well spotted. Visual remembering?
John Lydon knew about Savile's behaviour before 1978; so how can a newspaper editor like Piers that is privy to information have no knowledge of this? Piers, Blackburn and others in the media "are" liars.
I have to agree. If you go by their body language, they were both being deceptive at minimum.
Both apologist.
Funny how Morgan conveniently exposes everyone else.
there is absolutely no way blackburn can claim he knew nothing, he was a radio 1 dj and was at the bbc the same time as saville was, they all mixed together and knew what was going on behind the scenes of top of the pops, i saw a programme on them once and they would invite young girls back to their dressing room after the show, they were all at it, the bbc was just one big knocking shop back in the day! bbc bosses were quized about saville and they would say "oh that's just jim", they all turned a blind eye!
You have it wrong. Blackburn said he DID hear rumours. It's Morgan lying through his teeth pretending he didn't.
Of course they all knew. Years ago Johnny Rotten talked about all the kiddy-fiddling Savile was doing and he got silenced. All these people knew fine well what he was doing - he was abusing boys and girls backstage. How could they not have known or seen. He didn’t exactly hide it much. There’s even video on screen of him trying to put his hand in a young girls panties and she is trying to move away.
johnny rotten is a Liar and fiddler ...

The sin is you all knew and kept quiet. I was a teenager in the 70’s and he gave me the creeps. Something not right with him blindingly obvious.
You didn't like him Tony? So why were you a guest on Jimmy Saviles This Is Your Life then?
He was paid to.
I worked on a building site in the mid eighties at Stoke Mandeville we knew the rumours almost as fact and these two didn’t pull the other one
I believe Coleen Nolan was warned by her older sisters about him. There's a Top of the Pops clip were he is openly fondling a young lady. Google it!!
if john lydon new what he was way back in 77 your telling me these two didnt?
Savile had newspapers settle out of court after threatening to sue, of course Morgan knew about him, they were frightened of him like all the other cowards.
Blackburn is lying. Very badly too. Notice how he deflects to Piers saying “ you must have known too “ !! 👿
I don't trust Blackburn at all
@@richshackleton8104 Blackburn was probably at it too and he and Savile covered for each other.
I don't trust either of them. They both knew.
Only Johnny Rotten lead vocalist of Sex Pistols & Public Image Ltd spoke out on rumours he had heard about Savile at the BBC.

"The rumors about him were that he was a bit odd" - yeah, right, because that's what people say about other people behind their backs.
Lmao
Mike Williams Then I would point you to my original comment and find the statement that said everyone who knew him should be implicated.
He knew what was going on
Tony Blackburn saying that he didn’t like him yet he appeared on his this is your life and he gave at least 2 interviews paying tribute to him after he’d died. Shows how fake the show business world is
Weird how they all knew the THE 'rumors' but not one person on planet Earth ever saw anything odd about Saville.
They all come out and say how bad he is now, but none of them came forward when the time was right.
So many children suffer because none of them spoke out. they are just as guilty. they just didn't care.

I think now, they knew he did, and wanted too change the subject.
