does poliwrath's power up punch(and bulk up blow actually) count as an uppercut for the purposes of breaking armour? by uppercut does it mean all launchers?
Awesome video!! I've been wondering, what was the thought process on how meter gain works in this game, how did you come up with it? I've never seen it before, it's really unique!
Secret lore: Before I started on CC, I'd been on and off toying with the idea of building a fighting game in 2dfm that resembled a competitive card game using a limited and indivisible resource system. Even when I homed in on making (another) Pokemon fighter, the original idea was to have HP represented by up to 12 small circles, making the damage system as legible and vivid as something you'd see in the TCG. Eventually, the health system moved towards the more traditional HP bar we have today, but I kept the meter resource as discrete chunks that could only be earned by *wanting* them, which often meant taking a smaller W in advantageous interactions in order to save up for a bigger W later. At the same time, I didn't want going for the meter to ALWAYS be the right decision. It's arguable how much we've succeeded, but the idea was always to give the player a sense that their decisions mattered and I'd hoped having a primary resource that grew only through employing a targeted strategy rather than something that more or less accrued passively was one way to do that.
it's too late to change it now but it's really weird that blaziken's downward punch is inputted with j8a

Uppercuts essentially means all launchers here, yeah.
