- I had to practice These Eyes by the Guess Who for a couple weeks to pull it off, but it was worth it.
I used my trusty Rainsong WS1000 Emerald X-20

Been checking covers of this song and I have to say, you did this perfectly! Thank you!
Nice of you to say, Ria!
Great cover,I love this song!❤️🎸
Thanks, Rachel!
Solid! Good job!
Amazing cover!! Anyone who can get anywhere close vocally to Burton Cummings has my respect! Very well done!
Thanks Graham, nice of you to say.
You pulled it off! Great job. I think you sound better than Burt Cummings does now. As we all age our range isn’t what it used to be but I think you hit the high notes pretty good! Since COVID I haven’t been motivated to sing. I can’t even get my voice to where it used to be. I’m glad I have recordings of it. It’s true what they say: use it or lose it. I think I’ve lost mine but if I can get motivated to sing again I might get some of it back. All I can say is: Don’t ever stop singing! We seniors appreciate those who keep going and still sound good.
Thanks for the words of encouragement, Barbara. It's a constant battle to keep the voice in shape. At this point, I lower many keys, but like to push myself sometimes. You should just sing some easy songs for the sheer enjoyment of it and don't be hard on yourself. It's supposed to be fun, go for it!
One man, one guitar, on the porch- you hit a home run, man. Great job!
Nice of you to say, thanks!
Well done. You make it look easy. Good chord progression. Like the way you incorporate the bass line.
Thanks, nice of you to say.
Very cool! Not many can sing Burton Cummings, but you pull it off!

I remember knowing all the words. My friends family had the coolest jukebox. Brown eyed girl, Turtle Creek, Hot Rod Lincoln, Long Tall glasses ahh to be thirteen again....
These old songs bring back some great memories for me too. I play quite a few when they were new!
Dude, solid! Thanks for sharing. Subbed.
Thanks, buddy!
SOUNDS GREAT MY FRIEND
Thanks, buddy!
Great rendition. You translated it over very well. I do have a request Any song by the Monkees
Thanks Glen! I check out some Monkees tunes. I tried Last Train To Clarkesville but I couldn't play the riff & sing at the same time.
excellent
Thanks, Richard
Jimmy's brother is so old and still good
🤣🤣🤣
Nice :)
Hey , do you like , really like or love your Emerald.? I am so tempted to drop a paycheck on one
Funny you should ask on this video, because I recently sold this Emerald X20 because the neck was a bit too large. They're great guitars, and I bought 3 online, having never played them. Pretty risky at the prices they command, but nobody stocks them in the US. I played a Rainsong WS1000 original model for 8 years before venturing out to different carbon acoustics. It's still my favorite, as it feels & sounds more like a wood guitar. Emeralds are like a hi-fi version, different, not necessarily better. Their craftsmanship is amazing, just holding one is like a piece of art. They're heavy because they're one piece, but play very easily. The side sound hole is great for hearing yourself and the arm bevel is a great feature. I recommend getting a used one, if you can afford it. The new Rainsongs have the N2 neck, which is larger and more full than the original models. I bought one, but sold it because I like a thinner neck, having been an electric player all my life. If one comes up, try that as well.! Hope that helps. It's a constant battle to find the right guitar, good luck. If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them if you email me at acousticbrucepetrie@gmail.com. Keep on rockin'!
I was trying to follow along. What is the cord progression? Have you ever thought about teaching how to play some of these songs?
Email me and I'll send you my chord sheet. acousticbrucepetrie@gmail.com . I'm just a player, not a teacher.
@@ravenonguitar Hello, Bruce nice song and well played.Would you be kind enough to send me the chords surely would appreciate you .Thanks
@@sergiosanchez-fx2ec sure, email me at the address in the message above.
Using Dm7 instead of Dm sounds a bit better....but cool cover, bud.
Thanks! The chord sheet I downloaded had the Dm7, but it sounded weak to me. I often substitute chords for the solo acoustic format.
You need better audio. Get that done, and you will have reached absolutely awesome status.
