Nice job on the review. Watched it, ordered same day. Laptop exactly as described. Everything is perfect with 1 exception: the fan; when running under load, the noise is the loudest I have heard on previous XPS laptops: XPS15 L501x, L521x, and now this 9370. That's right - the XPS 15R L521x lasted me 6 years, and it's still fast as of March 2018.
by the way the battery when fully charged is still a massive power source to charge other devices while the laptop is off, and coupled with the tiny 45w power adapter charges very quickly.
Ivan Muchiutti the battery life varies depending on the load. The % stays constant on the desktop tray icon. But the hours of charge ranges from 8 hours to 16 hours. So far in 2 months if use I haven't even thought about battery conservation
Absolutely. I receive emails 24/7 on my phone. Even times when I reply to my emails from my laptop...my phone is sitting on it's dock turned on. Why would I turn my phone off just because I'm using my laptop?
I've been searching around watching reviews on this XPS 13 and I really like how you explained things more clearly to those ( like me) who don't know a lot about computers spec's. Your review sold me on this laptop, so I will be pick it up tomorrow. Thanks for the info and 👍 up, and subscribed to the channel
Just picked up the i7 16gb model for 440 bucks, I know they are older however my modded xps 15 9560 can still keep up with new tech and is much better then most of the average machines out there! Nice review as well
The Dell connect app just sold my son on this laptop. I have a Surface Pro 4 i5 which is nice. The XPS 13 will be for my son going off to college in 2018. Thanks for review!
i got the x360 for few days before exchanging to 9370. the 9370 is better build. spectre has a lot of issues. loose touchpad, creaking when grabbing it from palmrest. fan noise. now 9370 i just returned earlier. 9370 has some serious hangups from time to time. you can search it. its all over the place. now i settled with i5/256 surface pro with alcantera keyboard. also, 9370 4k diplay will give you 4hr of display too lol. pathetic battery life
Microsoft already has the phone device mirror feature on Windows 10. It's that Connect application in All Programs. It's pretty awesome. You have to install miracast app on some old android phones though.
@Windows Central I heard the 9370 has Wi-Fi issues with regarding its Killer Wifi chip, does it have any problems connecting to 5 Ghz and maintaining the connection?
I sold my 15" XPS 9560 and bought a 4K 8th gen i7 9370. It's a much better road warrior machine. The Windows face recognition works a lot better than the iPhone X I returned. I wish they had a gold version with carbon interior. I don't care for the white.
It seems super great and all but I am seeing some terrible reviews on this on Amazon and some of them have like 100+ persons up-voting it. Honestly, I don't know what to think. Can someone help me
It's because of the material. I have the 9360 and I'd really rather have Dell make a full black aluminum colored one rather than using gimmicky materials. I don't mind the extra weight, I do mind the fingerprints, and cheaper feeling for a premium device.
Hello! I'm looking for a new laptop! I've always been a desktop PC user, but due to a new job opportunity portabilit has become a must. I'm trying to decide between the Dell XPS 13 and the MXP by Huawei. I like the design from the XPS a lot better but the MXP's display is just lovely. I'll likely go for the MXP if availability is not an issue when I arrive to the U.S, otherwise I'd go for the Dell. Thing is I'm very concerned about the XPS device. I've been hearing a lot of negative opinions about it, regarding display backlight bleeding, coil whine, device just dying. Reviews for it seem to be more than just positive and brand it as an outstanding machine, but user comments here, and on reddit seem so negative! I'm very worried. Can anyone offer me some counsel?
Hey dan great video, your reviews cover all aspects of the device and are great to watch. Can someone comment the link to the wallpaper on that xps 13, it's really good.
I'm wondering if running the 4k panel at FHD res would give enough battery life back to make it a compromise between FHD but losing touch and having 4k touch but much worse battery life.
Funny how you dont mentioned the hangups/stutter issue. i found the solution to be disable panel refresh on intel. but i returned it since another problem is 4k display will give you 4hrs of battery life too lol
Can we plug 2 egpu at once and had twice the graphics power.. Something like SLI.. Are both thunderbolts using the same 4X pci-e lane or each one has its own..?
No. Thunderbolt 3 tops off at 40Gbps, which is nearly all used when using one eGPU. Thunderbolt 3 does not have the proper bandwidth. You need next-gen Type-C spec.
If you have no budget restrictions consider a surface book. The 15 inch variant is especially good as an all purpose machine. Avoid xps 15. Heating and coil whine issue. Not to mention fan noise
Haider Khan is it so much overheated? Yeah coilwhine is sh*t, but what do you think razer blade for example and asus zenbook? And I just dont trust HP due to previous issues with friend's laptops.
I have a question, why can't laptops even in 2018 have good and reliable fingerprint reader? I mean smartphones have these for years, even the cheaper smartphones have excellent fingerprint reader these days. I recently bought a 15inch Acer Swift 3 and it's fingerprint reader is not as good as my friends smartphone fingerprint reader(I still use a lumia 930). Even the laptop that you are reviewing is very high end still doesn't have a very good fingerprint reader.
I think it's because you don't need that much speed on a laptop as you need on an smartphone. You use your smartphone while moving or to review something quickly, so it makes sense that the readers are faster. But I have to say I don't have anything with fingerprint reader, so my assumptions may be wrong.
if this is the case then it's ridiculous, most of us pay for the specs to get faster machines/laptop than any smartphone, still getting a cheaper component which is ridiculously slower.
Negatives: Chin cam - either mount it in a usable manner or omit it. Lousy Dell support. No LTE SIM for remote connectivity. Lenovo provides that which Dell lacks.

Bryan Weatherup how's battery life irl?
Ivan Muchiutti the battery life varies depending on the load. The % stays constant on the desktop tray icon. But the hours of charge ranges from 8 hours to 16 hours. So far in 2 months if use I haven't even thought about battery conservation
That Dell connect app is a winner!
but the problem comes with iDevices, because dell connect mobile app requires your phone to be on all the time which is a deal breaker for me.
Asif Nabi I cant think of a time when my phone isn’t on.
MissTech Nique so both of your laptop and phone are on at the same time?
Absolutely. I receive emails 24/7 on my phone. Even times when I reply to my emails from my laptop...my phone is sitting on it's dock turned on. Why would I turn my phone off just because I'm using my laptop?

we talk more on that later
If the XPS13 is this good, cant wait for XPS15 2018!!
az zahar kind of a disappointment lol
Really awesome review, probably the first one (first time for me) I saw this Dell Connect app, brilliant idea.
Very in depth review. Youve got a new subscriber!
Great review as always 😎
And yeah, a comparison to the Surface Laptop video would be nice 😊
People keep complaining about the placement of the web camera, how many people actually use it? 🤦♂️
This comment aged like milk
Great Review. I have no use for the Micro SD card reader. I REALLY NEED THE SD CARD SLOT
I feel like Dan has a different ethnicity every video since his vacation.
I blame the poor color calibration this time ;) I swear, I'm not orange.
Windows Central did you just assume our president? Lmao
Please do a comparison between the XPS and the Surface Pro (13 in. if you can :) )
Hey Dan, the storage is not samsung PM961 as you said in this video. Dell uses Toshiba XG 5 series with 64 layer BICS NAND for this laptop.
Microsoft already has the phone device mirror feature on Windows 10. It's that Connect application in All Programs. It's pretty awesome. You have to install miracast app on some old android phones though.
Should i still buy this now?
Just waiting for the 2018 15 inch laptop reviews. When you reckon they'd come?
Nice review, a comparison between Surface book 2 vs 2018 Dell XPS will be awesome.
Waiting for Dell XPS 15 2018
@Windows Central I heard the 9370 has Wi-Fi issues with regarding its Killer Wifi chip, does it have any problems connecting to 5 Ghz and maintaining the connection?
Waiting for the comparison!!
Very nice detailed review.

Good review.. First time at this channel.. IMHO, Just please consider the length of the vid..
waiting for a comprehensive review between dell xps and hp spectre x360 13 lte 2017 model...
I can't be the only one who thinks the white color makes it look like a toy
It's because of the material. I have the 9360 and I'd really rather have Dell make a full black aluminum colored one rather than using gimmicky materials. I don't mind the extra weight, I do mind the fingerprints, and cheaper feeling for a premium device.
It does look really cheap.

And vs Thinkpad T480s ;)
When is the 2019's 9380 review coming up :)
I'm wondering if running the 4k panel at FHD res would give enough battery life back to make it a compromise between FHD but losing touch and having 4k touch but much worse battery life.
The speakers of the xps 13 have always been on the side...
Can't wait to get the xps 15 with an 8th gen i7.
Apart from the 2 in 1 XPS this spring, is there any info about a refresh for the XPS 15 (the 9570 then I guess)?

Nice laptop I'm still a surface book fan :p
Is there any coil whining complaint?
Can you compare the dell xps 15 2018 to the dell precision 15 2018.
Funny how you dont mentioned the hangups/stutter issue. i found the solution to be disable panel refresh on intel. but i returned it since another problem is 4k display will give you 4hrs of battery life too lol

No. Thunderbolt 3 tops off at 40Gbps, which is nearly all used when using one eGPU. Thunderbolt 3 does not have the proper bandwidth. You need next-gen Type-C spec.
Do you experience any bad network connection due to its wifi chipset?
What would you say is your favorite Windows Laptop for 2018 so far? I am thinking of getting one for programming, but don't know which one to choose.
Do you think about xps9560? Yes, it doesn't have 8th generation processor, but still it is very capable machine with Full HD mate monitor.
If you have no budget restrictions consider a surface book. The 15 inch variant is especially good as an all purpose machine. Avoid xps 15. Heating and coil whine issue. Not to mention fan noise
You could also wait a couple weeks for the vega xps 15 2 in 1 and spectre
And the yoga 920 is an awesome laptop too
Haider Khan is it so much overheated? Yeah coilwhine is sh*t, but what do you think razer blade for example and asus zenbook? And I just dont trust HP due to previous issues with friend's laptops.
What mic is the silver wireless mic on the table?
this is still fantastic in 2022
Does Dell Mobile Connect well with Iphones? Most reviews I see they have an Android phone.
This or huawei Matebook x pro?
But there r 3 major drawbacks usb type A, full sd card slot & web cam positions. It can’t be 5/5 laptop
palashholkar no one uses camera everyday, no one plugging in charging port every 10 seconds
nice wallpaper, link please?
can it be used for media (photo, sound and video) editing, which may require GPU support?
editing is cpu depended. so u good
As long as u buy a version with 16gb Ram, you can be comfortable to edit photos, videos.
What's the name of the Dell to Phone Connector App?
I want them to release a Raven Ridge version. But I doubt Dell will.
Wallpaper, please!

is it better then hp spectre x360 2018 version or not?
i'm fine with all c port but the micro sd kinda bugs me...
The white color is to bright for me 😵. Design is great just would prefer a darker color
The green tint got you looking like an alien. :)
Or...this alien looks semi-human due to the tint.
And your dying voice makes you sound like a robot
2:35 the video activated my Cortana 😂
Xps 13 2018 or surface laptop
Is the killer wifi card still garbage?
compare with sb 2
The speakers on the XPS 13 were always on the side.
We want to see versus with spectre x360please
Hp spectre 13 vs dell xps 13
I bought this for gaming.
You know what? Dell 240 Watt power brick for Alienware laptops is actually heavier than a GIGABYTE eGPU box.

Adam Diab won't come out until the H series comes out
excuse me What's H series?
Soon.
Is my monitor going bad or is the guy yellow now ?
It's actually your eyes. Could be cerebral achromatopsia. (Or maybe it was Mark's poor color calibration. Either or.)
Beautiful 🥰
Doesn’t it have a disc player??

Phew, glad I can still use this with my mask on.

Check the Matebook X Pro out
The Dell logo is honestly hideous. They need a modern redesign like HP.
Why on earth is the webcam black? Does it really cost that much more to make it white?! comon Dell.
spectre vs surface book vs xps13
