Surrounding Area of Docs Caboose for the VR KC Cam viewers

- April 2019 west bottoms section in Kansas City Missouri the surrounding area at 1400 Union Avenue & Hickory Street as well as the Forrester Rd overpass near Bluff Rd at the KCT Tracks(looking SSW) & UP, KCT/BNSF Tracks at the Incline(looking North).
1. Docs Caboose Building with the West VR Cam.
2. Looking West at M2, M1, M3 & the State Line Yard with switcher 550 GP38-2
3. East side of Docs & across the street.
4. The signal below Forrester Rd overpass & Sante Fe Street for EB M2 & KCT Track 1401.
5. At the KCT Tracks area at Forrester & Bluff Rds.
6. EB UP Manifest on M2.
7. 7358 ES44AC
8. 3913 SD70M
Put together for the non locals viewing on the VR KC Cam but everyone enjoy.
One of my favourite places to hang around.
a lot of history down in the west bottoms that's for sure
I like doing a lil' exploring down there myself now and again..

The East cam is always interesting to watch. Not so much for the trains, but for the activity going on in the area. Many a time I have watched local juveniles make their way into the abandoned building (as seen briefly, at 4:35 in this video) I assume they're looking for someplace to smoke some weed. Some times during the day and some times late at night.

The warehouse at 4:52 is privately owned. I met the guy (and his dog) that owns it. He lives in it!

The tracks where those tank cars are serves as an interchange i think. When I was there last November there were quite a lot of empties (box cars) and about a dozen loaded tank cars and loaded hoppers.

thanks casey ! you caught everything except the pigeons. I guess they were scared of those two creepy looking octopi on the roof. first time I've seen an octopus on a roof. nice closeup of the switcher. I hope you can do this tour for the new KC cams when they come online.

two years later I don't think there is any life in the big warehouse in the background. there are no boxcars being put to this. There are no more trucks parked in front where the hertz and penkz rentals were. This yard is not getting near the traffic it was , when this video was shot. It is now like a ghost town.
i need to drive around NFI & Wagner Logistics to see if they still occupy the building or not now. you might be right...thanks for watching again!
