The tune which finally saw Vin Gordon as the true successor to the legendary Don Drummond. Outstanding stuff, and quite possibly the most famous reggae riddim of them all.

Vin was good but the DON IS DON.

Vin was called Baby Don. Drummond sadly was a tortured genius. I was talking with Tommy McCook some years ago and he said Don was the best musician in the Skatalites.

If you set the speed to 1.5 you can also hear a really good ska song^^

This is played by most of the same musicians who played on the original ska recordings from 1963-4. They’d already moved on to “one-drop” reggae/rock-steady.
