What a great dad. Your boys will always remember these moments. Also I've watched literally hundreds of videos trying to plan my first adventure with my son to Moab and yours was the best. Nice job.
You've really gained experience, taking on stuff now that you wouldn't have just a short time ago, well done. The thing with those electronic gadgets, Terrain Select, Crawl Control, they're great for sketchy situations and to help with confidence, but as you continue to try new obstacles, find that good line, realize the limit line between the truck and the driver, you'll use them less and less, and may enjoy the tough stuff more and more. Go back a year from now and give Mickey's Hot Tub a try, not as tough as you might imagine!
Dan Rich you're so right! A couple days after I did this trail, I got some training time at expo west - the instructor was super helpful in putting things into perspective. Said all these things are tools, once you get used to them, you can use them how they're intended, but you shouldn't rely on them! I've been practicing and learning!
Walt Masterson Thanks! Ya know, I'm learning that the 4runner is quite capable as long as you pick a good line and bring some experience to the table (both of which I'm still developing!)
Jason, thanks for starting to number the VLOGs. Once someone runs across your videos, I'll bet the vast majority go back and work their way through your entire collection. It is kind of difficult without the numbering. I had to use the "5 months ago" label on you tube to try & figure out the early ones. The play lists are a nice touch. As always, love your stuff!!
I've always liked jeeps. Had one many years ago but never did any adventuring with it. I was very impressed with the performance of your 4-Runner. I'm very interested in the kind of adventuring you and your sons do. Your videos are are very helpful.
Your Videos are awesome, very well done. Keep 'em coming. I've been to Moab twice and watch each of these makes me want to pack up now and head back. Hopefully soon...
So excited to finally see what footage you got of Overland Expo West. It's been two month of waiting 😁. With that being said how much time do you spend editing your videos. Oh and just a suggestion, you said the kids are home schooled. How about having one of them give us little history lesson of some of the locations you go to. Something like "I bet you didn't know" Flagstaff, It’s a gateway to the San Francisco Peaks, home to Arizona’s tallest mountain (Humphreys Peak). Most of all, thanks for documenting your travels with your children and let's us go along for the ride.
I know! I'm actually nervous about creating a fun story from the footage! But we'll see how it goes! It was a great event, but it was my first time - so I definitely missed a lot! I usually spend anywhere from 6 to 10 hours editing a vlog. Preferably I space this over a couple days to keep the inspiration fresh! I'm not very creative so it's pretty tough for me!
"Why is it called Mickey's hot tub?" You've got a lot to learn about Moab buddy. Dan Mick wouldn't be happy ;) great video dude. Your kids will remember this forever.
Your channel is so inspiring man! I just got my 20 4runner and looking to follow your path, i'm just hesitant on any serious mods hehe. I'll probably hold off until the factory warranty expires haha. 36000 miles can't come soon enough!
I've heard from at least 2-3 sources now that using a locked diff on ground with good traction or little to no split can cause heavy damage to the mechanics. Supposedly diff lock is only designed for slippery snow/mud and maybe dirt on a steep hill. Just got an 06 4runner and haven't gone through any trails yet but looking forward to it. Hope your machine is still working well.
NukaSoda a locked diff in high traction situations can lead to breakage but moab has a dust on everything that helps eliminate the binding, but most lockers won't break anything on a stock size tie
I have to admit that would have been pretty rad if you rolled through the Tub passed the Jeep Crew. Smaller fingerprint.. lower center of gravity. If ya had those bumpers off for better entry and departure angles I'd have faith in ya. (Like the stock LandRover Discovery Vid) Great vids as usual. Thanks for posting
Chuck MacPhail haha. Thanks!! The one they were in wasn't the same as the Land Rover I don't think. There was another that is much larger that I think he was in. I could be mistaken though.
Jason Koertge , you're probably right. Great vids. Long time watcher, first time commentor as they say. Hope to bump into you at 2018 events when my rigs done and I trek from BC.. Cruise Moab 2018!
Enjoy the videos especially since I’ve craving a trailer with RTT from CVT. What is yours again? Best part of your adventures is experiencing it with your boys,‘ I look forward to mine with my girl and boy. Luckily I live in Utah so lots to explore.
You mentioned Flagstaff, you from Arizona I take it? You ever do Sedona? If not, you might like Broken Arrow trail in Sedona. It is a bit like a mini Moab. I'm from Tucson, lots of great places in Arizona to do. Sedona is high on my list. I have a Nissan Titan and a 4Runner. I did Hells Revenge in the Titan this summer. Moab Is epic.
Justin Soltau I recommend a full system. I'm almost certain that if you use the OME springs, you'll have to replace the shocks due to the additional lift. Your stock shocks will no longer fit.
Jason, great video! I can't help but notice how stable your GoPro footage is, what is the mount you're using and could you provide a link? Much appreciated, enjoy your travels
Sort of. We have a baby coming beginning of August. Definately planning a trip to N GA to try and check it out with the fam, just not sure we'll be camping.
I would have loved to have seen the actual footage from 9:22 to 9:30 ish instead of the cool edit! Looked like a great learning opportunity for new guys like myself, keep us in mind 🙂Love the videos.
Great stuff, I was there a month ago witg my stock 4runner on my own, I thaught Hell Revenger could not be done in a stock 4x4, you think I could make it? What about Fins and things? Its harder when you don't have a spoter...
Yohann Gauthier I didn't have anyone to spot me the first half of finns n things and I did it with the turtleback (vlog 29). There were spots in finns n things that were more intimidating to me than the worst of hells revenge! I think you'd be fine. You wouldn't be the first. I've known other stock 4runners to do it.
Jason, love your videos man. Can you tell me what kind of lift kit you are using? And are you using wheel spacers? I just got a 2016 trail edition and want to do some overlanding.
Thanks man. Is your OME the medium or heavy or regular? I know you're 4runner has gone through quote the evolution... This is so helpful man. I really appreciate it! Plus your video skills are awesome. Do you have a business in that sector also or just realestate?
Jason Koertge i figured that out after a watched a bunch of ur vids. What lift did u go with? What size tire? If ur in colorado spon we should meet up. No 4runner yet for me tho
You want to see some good videos of rock climbing at Moab check out the Wayalife videos. But, be careful, you will be driving a Rubicon Jeep four door Wrangler if you watch many of his videos.
What a great dad. Your boys will always remember these moments. Also I've watched literally hundreds of videos trying to plan my first adventure with my son to Moab and yours was the best. Nice job.
4:35 "smoking is bad for you" - you are an off-road role model. Keep these coming.
Best edited vids on You Tube. Keep them coming. Thanks.

Seriously, your production quality is top notch! Great cuts, excellent content, beautiful shots.
Thanks Samuel!
I've starting clicking the thumbs up before I even watch the video.
mjanskid haha. Thanks!!
very cool your kids are keen on going with you. Great times.
Dave
Great video! I like when people show you don't need some over the top rig to just have fun! Nice rig!
Walt Masterson Thanks! Ya know, I'm learning that the 4runner is quite capable as long as you pick a good line and bring some experience to the table (both of which I'm still developing!)

Thanks! An easy way to find the chronological order is to just go to the Videos tab, and scroll down. They are all there ordered chronologically.
Nice work with your video and editing work! It does not go unnoticed. Moab is definitely on my bucket list!
You seem like a great guy, god bless you, and your family.
Why do these videos have to be so amazing?!?!
Really diggin your vids! It looks like you guys have a lot of fun. Love your editing skills! I can't wait to take my new 4Runner down to Moab.
That battle buggy is a GMV1.1 it is made by general dynamics.
Looks like a blast. Looking at the sr5 myself.

Glad I found you on here. Great quality production. Nice taste in vehicles. :)

Really enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
The fact that Toyota really build an awesome machine its a very high quality off road vehicle .
Great videos seriously , and nice rig, looks like it was awesome time.
Nice video as always. You mentioned dust in your rig...... I am still finding red dust from my last Moab trip a year ago....
Good stuff man. Definitely something I want to do in the near future. Tired of the city life, I want to get out to the wild.
Just do it! haha
Love the videos! Great shots and I am learning a lot from you!
Love these vids jason, man got my 4 runner now oooo so excited to get out and find local honey hole trails
"Why is it called Mickey's hot tub?" You've got a lot to learn about Moab buddy. Dan Mick wouldn't be happy ;) great video dude. Your kids will remember this forever.

Can you show your navigation gear setup in a future video? Looks like a tablet, but really want to see how you have it mounted.
John G Yep. I've got a plan for it. Might interrupt the series in a few weeks to do something's like that.
I'm betting he's using a no drill Ram Mount that attaches to the existing seat bolts
Danan Coleman Actually, I mounted a couple ball mounts and mounted a pole to that. I'll show you guys soon.
Thank you Jason! Appreciate the responses.
“Don’t put your trash in my pocket” HAHA gold
If you had a good spotter to help you, you could of gotten your 4Runner up Hell's Gate. I've driven my fullsize truck up a twice. Great video man!
New subscriber here, and sooner than later 4runner owner. Awesome channel
Woo! Making my day
Keep up the good work Jason! Let me know if I can ever ask you some questions about OME stuff. Looking at it for my truck.
Justin Soltau anytime man! Love my setup!
Which system did you go with? I'm trying to find out if I can just run OME Springs to get the lift I want or do I have to get Springs and shocks.
Justin Soltau I recommend a full system. I'm almost certain that if you use the OME springs, you'll have to replace the shocks due to the additional lift. Your stock shocks will no longer fit.
It is a DAGOR and those guys are most likely SF out training or engineers putting it through its paces.
Andrew Yun kinda what I figured. I thought I got some footage of them playing but I didn't. They were pretty sweet!!
Jason, great video! I can't help but notice how stable your GoPro footage is, what is the mount you're using and could you provide a link? Much appreciated, enjoy your travels
Love it bro! Keep up the vlogging
Your editing skills are amazing! Great video. Are you planning to head up to watch the Solar Eclipse this year?
Sort of. We have a baby coming beginning of August. Definately planning a trip to N GA to try and check it out with the fam, just not sure we'll be camping.
Wow. What’s good video! I subscribed

Jason Koertge ok next time I'll go for it! Thanks!
I love the Tardis!
Your posture is like perfect. No wonder my my back f*****
Jason, love your videos man. Can you tell me what kind of lift kit you are using? And are you using wheel spacers? I just got a 2016 trail edition and want to do some overlanding.
Yep, spidertrax 1.25" spacers with 3" OME lift kit.
Thanks man. Is your OME the medium or heavy or regular? I know you're 4runner has gone through quote the evolution... This is so helpful man. I really appreciate it! Plus your video skills are awesome. Do you have a business in that sector also or just realestate?
What mount do you have for your iPhone?
Whats the size of your ko2 tires?
What kind of suspensions do you have ?
So would you say this is an ok trail for a 16 sr5 with a 3 inch lift rock sliders rci skids and BFg ko2s ?
Yes!
Very cool,...keep it up.
Hi Jason, how long was Hells Revenge... how many hours did it take you to go through it?
Awesome videos
Do you have a Trd off-road?
Are u lifted at this point in the vids? Look stock
I am. I don't have any videos in this vlog series where I'm not lifted.
Jason Koertge i figured that out after a watched a bunch of ur vids. What lift did u go with? What size tire? If ur in colorado spon we should meet up. No 4runner yet for me tho
He is eloquent and got good oratory skills, he should run for next American presidency.
Do you have a stiff neck? Looks like you can't turn your head around 8 minute mark
Didn’t you start that trip with three kids?
Lol yes smoking is very bad for you ur right 😂
You want to see some good videos of rock climbing at Moab check out the Wayalife videos. But, be careful, you will be driving a Rubicon Jeep four door Wrangler if you watch many of his videos.
Music / speech volume levels eek
Not one of these people has a keep cup.
Are you a single father ?
Haha. No. My wife's 8.3 months pregnant and not super into camping. Promise she'll be on future episodes!
Do the trails but show some enthusiasm.
