This video provides the first steps in the solution for two-phase incompressible one-dimensional flow in a porous medium. The concept of fractional flow is introduced.
Hi Professor Martin, I find you videos very helpful, especially conceptually they are a great assistance and supplement to my studies. I am confused at minute 12:01 , in your final two line I don't understand why you changed from lamda w for the first term for qt to lamda t in the second term. I would really appreciate clarification on this, also when rearranging the equation why do you multiple by lamda W/lamda T. Thank you very much for your videos and your good work.
This is because I added two terms together - one from dPw/dx and the other from dPo/dx = dPc/dx + dPw/dx. I do the rearrangement to find qw as a function of qt and the other terms.
