“Winter and spring are enjoying their dance around each other for just a bit longer.”
This, combined with the drone footage, is just perfect.

Hi Rosie, I loved your line about winter and spring enjoying their dance around each other a little longer! So poetic! I'm working my way through your videos, which I enjoy watching/listening to whilst I cook. I am aware however that soon I will catch up to present day and will have to be patient for each video!! I enjoy your calming online presence!

Rosie, you are an artist, an artisan, a philosopher and a poet. "Social expectations and restrictions kill my creativity," YES! "Winter and Spring are enjoying their dance around each other for just a bit longer." Beautifully described. I call that the Spring tease! The music accompanying the stark Winter beauty in your close ups of snow crystals and frozen flowers....the single note of a piano and its underlying melody. Every time you accomplish a new task, speak to that creative inner child with gentleness and encouragement and a 'good on you, mate' attitude. She deserves it.

    I will make a recommendation.
If you turn the topsoil upside down, the weeds will disappear. The soil will then be ready for planting,
and you take advantage of the best part of your soil. Best wishes from Trond.

I just discovered your channel, and have been binge-watching your videos for the past couple days. I love how the quality has gradually improved, how you seem to be getting over your fear of imperfection, and how you have gotten more comfortable in front of the camera. Your sense of humor is coming out. This video was hilarious with all of inserted stain photos! 😂

When I stain raw wood, I always use a wood conditioner first. It seems to give a truer color with the stain. Raw wood is very porous, and the grain also absorbs the stain differently in different areas. The conditioner takes care of that. I know, it is an extra step, but the results are worth it.

May we suggest you round the piece of wood that is in the corner across from the desk ( which is really cute) 😊if it’s rounded it can still be ok to put a little sink on it, actually it will be better rounded than how it is now…..a pointy awkward edge sticking out, because it will be so easy to bump into it as one walks in to your tiny guest house.

Hi Rosie! I really like what you're doing by yourself, well done!! Just a suggestion for when you have to sand wood by hand: it could be helpful and easier to wrap the sandpaper around a small square or rectangular piece of wood...more sanding surface in contact with wood and greater accuracy! Cheers :)

Rosie, for the shelve brackets you could imitate a keyhole in the back with a small drilled hole with a larger drilled hole beneath it at the same depth. Put your screw in the wall, place the bracket with the large hole on the screw then slide it down to sit on the screw in the smaller hole. Just make sure the small hole is smaller that the screw head.

Not only do I admire your perseverance and ability to renovate, learn new skills and improve your dwelling to a fine minimalist appearance, but also having good taste. I’ve noticed you have a Japanese Ukiyo-e print in your kitchen. Can’t make out the details and I’m not sure who the artist is, but it looks like a nice one. I personally have an original print by Utagawa Kunisada which I bought few years ago, it’s precious to me. The other piece you have I’ve noticed is a reproduction of a painting by Henri Rousseau I believe called “the equatorial jungle “. This artist I know well and admire. Coincidentally I have a reproduction of one of his work his but it’s called “ The sleeping gypsy”. Congratulations on good progress in the guest house. Looking good. Be well. It's a challenge to get a golden oak color from an oak sample to be the same on pine or any other wood for that matter. Mixing a few wood tones wouldn't be a bad thing. I suggest taking a few scrap pieces of wood your primarily using with you to the hardware store and do test straps of colors on your wood pieces for best results. Your getting there, don't lose hope it's all in the journey so enjoy :D

Hi, you are cute, brave, talented and seem happy by yourself. You should be proud of all your achievements. I hope one day not too far away it will be my turn. Congratulations on your new extension of your beautiful home. You can make it your office/living area, reading, so many options. If you put a sofa, make sure it's also a place to sleep. Just in case you get too tired to go to your own bed.

Tiny House is so charming. You are very talented and so sweet. I really enjoy your progress and creativity. I think I like the colour of the shelves better than the original choice!

Since wild flowers don't want rich soil you are probably doing by taking the grass out. If you stack the cut out soil in layers of grass to grass and let breakdown over time you will create good mulch. Monty Don showed this technique

Love your channel. It would be cool to see your surroundings, the village close by, the stores, etc when you go for errands.

Hi Rosie, lovely to see you again this week, really enjoy your films. I do a fair bit of house renos and DIY with my husband and when the mitre saw is used for a very long piece of wood e.g. skirting board, we move the mitre saw around, sometimes to one end of the table so we can prop up the end of the long piece of wood on blocks of wood, bricks or whatever is handy, it works, it stops the “see saw” affect. Hope that explanation makes sense!☺️
