- Finally got a chance to upload this after a wild few days of news! Nintendo is forecasting some pretty impressive numbers for both their hardware and software this year. Let's break down why that is, and what they may be planning to do to achieve these numbers.

to me, this screams price drops. a base switch going from £250 to £199 or even £180 would be THE thing to make a few more million people finally make that purchase.
it’s also time for software price drops. nintendo’s greed when it comes to their software is honestly becoming EA level or worse at this point (because outside of DLC and micro transactions which EA is worse for, at least their games go on 90% sales).
games from 5-7 years ago, in fact, ALL first party switch games regardless of release are still full fucking price in 2024. there is no reason mario odyssey should still be £50 or $60. putting it into context, other HUGE sellers from that year (2017) like Horizon (sold 24 ish million) or RE7 (11 million) go for about £10-16 now (and that’s their new digital price, before sales). these games are just as if not more evergreen than most nintendo titles out of the top 15 best selling switch games. literally, i was shocked myself because every nintendo youtuber proclaims nintendo’s prices are because titles are evergreen, but they’re nowhere near as evergreen as you think. infact most of nintendo’s games just sell at around the industry standard. even their huge successes are around the same rate of other huge successes in the industry.
elden ring, a huge and fantastic game, won game of the year, released for £60 in 2022. it’s now £35. this game has sold 23 million units in two years. and the price is always that low.
so many more people, including myself, would be inclined to buy nintendo games if they just weren’t so expensive. i would gladly pick up three or four nintendo games if it comes out to like £50-60 on sale. but nintendo games are usually £50-60 and never decrease. which if i wanted those four games it would cost 200-240. so i don’t wanna buy any since i feel like £50 for a 7 year old game is too much.
i could buy the entirety of the Yakuza series on playstation (0-6) and like a dragon, for under £40. that’s how bad nintendo’s prices are.
the only sales nintendo ever does is a rare once or twice a year, random 33% sale on very select nintendo games. and it’s never really the ones you want. just things like mario party and the sports games.
and still, 33% sale once or twice a year on sometimes 7 year old games is just genuinely evil and so anti consumer idk how people defend it.
If the June direct ends with something big for the upcoming holiday title, which title will it be?
Donkey kong or mario wonder dlc
Donkey kong or mario wonder dlc
I think it will end with an announcement of a new game, maybe a remake of fire emblem geneaology of the holy war.
Metroid Prime 4 or Zelda
@@Merciless_Zero the remake would have to be saved for the September direct
I would love a Nintendo Selects line for Switch, apparently a lot of older Switch games have gone out of print so maybe that's what they're doing? Would love to pick up like Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition for $20.
Good luck with that because it’s a second party title that will never get a price cut. $70 currently for a sealed game online.
I think your best bet is secondhand. I got one on fb marketplace for $30 but I got really lucky.
I think they have one big game for this year. It's either Metroid Prime 4 or something else.
I'm expecting more re-releases, remasters, and remakes from the June Direct. They can't put out anything TOO big RIGHT before the Switch 2 reveal and release, or else it'll just feel like "why didn't you wait to make it a launch title?" (Even if Switch 2 is backwards compatable.)
My best guess at any big reveal has gotta be from a "lesser" franchise. One that doesn't get many games but fans love.
I saw a new video with a sponsorship for the Nintendo Switch. Just for the console in general lol
13.5 million Switches projected. There has to be at least one game that is a system seller coming out this fiscal year. If Legends Z-A makes it for fiscal Q4 and is the only system selling game this fiscal year, would that be enough to get hardware sales to 13.5 million units? I really can't figure out what that game could be other than maybe a possible Pokemon remake for November or something Zelda related.
I wanna see kid icarus uprising HD, Samus rereally HD , zero gx HD gxax
price cut
It feels so nice knowing another direct is near! I’m hoping for MP2/3 as a shadow drop and dlc for Pikmin 4
We have one more chance for a new donkey kong game on switch :( :(
BELIEVE
Kid Icarus Uprising HD?
You underestimate the power of a price cut. I know so many people that want a switch but won’t get it because it’s the same price after 7 years
We aren’t getting any big games this year
@@minecrafter3448idk about that, they said they were going to showcase a lot of games for later half of this year in this June direct which may or may not mean anything.
@@Merciless_Zero Remakes don’t sell consoles
@@Merciless_Zero And also, it wouldn’t make any sense for there to be a lot of games this year if they plan on making next year a good launch
A price cut is one of the things that I think is going to happen…so uh, no, I don’t underestimate it.
DK returning?
I'm hoping... No, dreaming! Nintendo releases Zelda TP and WW HD + Xenoblade Chronicles X this fiscal year. I have never played them 😅
I want all 3 but I NEED Xenoblade X to come over!
There is no evidence that the sales of the regular switch has any influence on when they decide to announce and release the next gen system. They can release it whenever they want, especially when it’s quite clear that the sale of the switch is not going to stop anytime soon and will continue, especially when we are 8 years into the switch’s life cycle which is a dead console by now.
What does this have to do with anything I talked about in this video?
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
Nintendo Switch 1 Pokémon Legends Z - A ✅
🔥🔥🔥
Metroid Prime 4. I know some people want nintendo to wait for the Switch 2, but it's best to do it now since it won't have much competition. Sony is taking a break to.. so it's another reason to release this year.
NO
@@spendingfoil3964 Metroid games have never sold great. It has the best chance now
This June we'll be holding a Nintendo Direct on the Nintendo Switch 1 software lineup for the second half of 2024, but please note that there won't be any mention of the Nintendo Switch 1 successor during@@RetroCheats
@@spendingfoil3964 I said Metroid Prime 4 was a Switch 1 release, not switch 2!
NO I like all bad Nintendo Switch 2 👎🏻🤢🤢
