  • On June 18, President Joe Biden announced a new program that will allow certain spouses of United States citizens to apply for “parole-in-place" from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This program, which is not yet open for applications, will not only allow up to 550,000 people to receive temporary protections and work permits in the United States, but will generally allow them to apply for lawful permanent resident (LPR) status (also known as a green card) through their spouses without risking years of separation from their families.
How will the program work? Who will benefit? Join the American Immigration Council for a presentation and Q&A session about this new program.

so if someone entered legally but overstayed by more than a decade AND became married to a citizen… would this new policy be a tool to green cards and citizenship?
is it necessary that a person enter illegally?

if you enterred legally that means you are inspected and don't need this Parole in Place as you can adjust your status here in the U.S. (Talk to a Lawyer). This Parole in Place is only for Spouses of U.S. Citizens who entered Illegally without inspection.
