As German citizen I am so happy, that we took in the refugees from Syria back then. Most of them learned quick, many of them integrated fast and those I was in contact with figured out be be very nice people. Those you like to be your neighbors.
That's right, Germans take longer to see someone as a friend. It just helps to meet people and try to meet again. Talking to each other at a party is not enough. If you have common interests, make an appointment. Go to clubs (e.g. sports clubs), because contact is faster. Germans are generally sociable, give them time to get to know you.
I don't understand your bathroom problems. All toilets in Germany work with water, except the "Dixie Klo". And all bathrooms are equiped with sinks so that one can wash one's hands afterwards. Quite a lot of appartments/private homes have bidets in their bathrooms too, so I really wonder how and where you got your (bad) bathroom-experience from?
Well, not many modern houses have bidets in Germany I don't know how the situation is in Berlin but here in Northrhine-Westphalia there are not a lot of houses with bidets.
to all foreigners moving to Germany... we are not closed off people, as he said. but we do respect everyones privacy. talking to you once, even for hours, does not give us "the right" to get on your nerves, so we won't immediately contact. new friendships in germany (those that are not existant from kindergarden on) are mostly based around jobs or hobbies or sports. don't give up on us, we are nice and over-polite, apart from those assholes every society has.
I'll move to Germany munich soon as an au-pair , nd am already worried abt making new friends. The toilet thing omg lol that's the worst part, I experienced that in many hotels in Tunisia and I managed using a bottle lol haha no details. I hope my experience will not be that bad!
I feel obliged to point out some wrong info your video. 0:50 Not all stores in Germany are closed sundays. Stores needs a special permit from the authorities in order to be allowed to be opened sundays. Most stores do not bother to get such a permit. But some Edeka, for example, are opened sundays.
5:40 I honestly hope that meet gets more expensive here because the low price has a simple reason: the quality is HORRIBLE. If you buy "Bio Fleisch" though you pay more but get a better and more eco-friendly alternative.
Wow, I would be shock if I have talked to these people, and the next time they're treating you like air (as if you don't exist). It's like manners people. This will rarely happen in an English speaking country unless that person has some issues.

Solange du also kein göttliches Wesen bist (nein, du bist keines) bezweifle ich, dass du entscheiden kannst was richtig/ falsch ist bzw welche Erfahrungen man in Berlin sammeln kann oder auch nicht. I as a german always can agree with your 2nd point. I walways liked the saying it is hard to get a german friend but one you had one you are friends for life.
I lived in Germany for six years i studied and there socialised with a lot of German students and people from all categories. But I assure you! Germans are in interested in you when you are different ‘ abartig’ ‘ that mean mad and strange!! Simply they like exotic people with Appealing and attractive appearance.
While i agree with the overall statement "abartig" is a strong insult. That's basically degrading someone to the level of vermin. "Exotisch", "fremd", "unbekannt", "interessant", "faszinierend", "ungewöhnlich" are the words you are looking for to describe someone peeking your interest on a depending on the word neutral to enthusiastic level
In Germany friends are made by shared interests. Sport clubs, hobbies, work, same friends etc. If you find such a connection you get "in".

Loved this 🙏

Germany is actually one of the few countries where people can hook up even without alcohol. Try doing _that_ in Britain or in the USA.

I bought 1 kg of Argentinian beef yesterday, it was 27 euro....so 6 euro for 1kg of beef would be a very cheap special offer I guess.

4 years in Germany..still don't have any german friends 💁♀️
Join a sports club! Should be a team sport. You'll soon find friends there.
4 months I have some acquaintances but not close friends
I am german and moved from Hannover to Hamburg and made no friends the first year. Then I went to a big choir. That was the start ! So happy!

I think you meant “andersartig“. “Abartig“ is “disgusting“ in German. That would be an insult.
