Being a former mid-distance to long distance runner I am always impressed by the way Arron, who is a phenomenal half-miler guts out the longer distances. It's done by self-discipline and just suffering all the way. And having also put out too much and had my legs gel right before the finish line, I have immense respect for Dev Doshi standing right back up and getting to the line for the team. It's an incredibly hard thing to do. The Youngs may take turns being 1, 2, and Aaron Sahlman may shadow them across the line, but for the team to win, Lev Doshi, who is seldom in the spotlight always has to run a race that would beat over 99.9% of the HS runners in CA, a state with nearly 40 million people, and he always does.
As a former CC runner (Class of 88) I love watching this dominating group, I lived in Simi in early 90’s and am proud to been in same county as these studs
Question...Is it common in California to have portions of the XC course on pavement? I have watched a number of videos over the recent years, and it seems that there is pavement involved quite often. I have been involved in XC and track out here in flyover land since the 1970s, and the number of courses we set up that involved pavement can be counted on one hand, and with those it is limited to crossing a paved road once or twice on the course.
@@jennysmith8835 Because we lead the nation in soccer mommies trying to out woke each other. A kid went off course and another fell down this year. Next year, everyone has to wear a helmet and a GPS device. It's for the children.
one of these years someone needs to troll one of these races by going out sprinting and messing with the feild then dropping after a mile and putting the rest of the feild on test with their discipline💀

This production is higher quality than what the NCAA has been putting out in XC.

Yes, totally, and that sprint in was classic of a Cross Country Champion, Love it.
Great run by Aaron to stay in 3rd even though he was gapped.
Aaron's stride is more middle-distance. I wonder if he could adapt it some for XC?
Lonely race for him… great display of grit and focus by him
Loved Aaron's full sprint finish - that was cool, he's faster than shet.

Newbury Park boys are, once again, simply AWESOME. The State Meet should be a fantastic race as well.

My favorite thing to do is running, I am going to be a sophomore this year, and I've already went to states for xc and track in my freshman year
I like all the things the video crew tried to do. great job
Love from Digos, Philippines
Better coverage than the "big" channels.
Fantastic editing. Damn those boys can book
Hey props to the kid in purple shoes though for being the only one their for his teammates and keeping up with the fastest high schoolers ever 👍👍
Great video record of the race. Thank you!!!
Thats crazy, I just ran this course for my conference champs this morning
Wow what an amazing race.
16:00 buddy on the side was trying out his unspoken rizz haha
That was awesome. Thank you
22:51 The kid tripping over the finish line for no apparent reason is a riot! How does that even happen?
what happened?
There are mats under the finish line. He tripped on a black mat.
20:01 the left camera cuts just before I passed almost 15 runners :(

california doesnt allow spikes so its more common than anywhere else
@@evandavid4673 Thanks for the explanation.
@@evandavid4673 why dont they allow spikes ??

Saw this on L&L before here lol!
Amazing!
What kind of race is this that they run on the street some? How is that cross-country or is it just a random 5k they do every year?
Plz upload the Clovis Invite 2022 Boys Varsity Large Division when u can plz thx
Exactly
My Twin and I did what we had to do, my other bro made it to the California State championship in the Mile/ 1500 meters, anyway we did okay

What happen to Hector?
Great question. Been wondering that as well. Maybe he's off the team?

Why was the twin biting his arm @11:16
Hard to tell, but looks like some sort of bracelet or watch got loose.

Yes, the Clovis meet is held at Woodward Park.

Hot and dry. Something I have never felt as I live in the south east.
Why has newbury park moved to divison 2 if they're the best team in the nation?
In MN it has to do with the size of the school. So maybe that?
Correct. In CA, schools are placed in divisions based on enrollment and they had fewer students than in the prior year.
Barely made div one with enrollment and dropped to div two which is where they normally are based on students enrolled
I would have won this EASILY
really? what’s your pr?
@@rexaril4507idk about his pr but my 5k pr was like 13:20 in high school
