Oh btw Raven, the writer of that absolute BANGER Darth Vader comic run consulted on this show and has been teasing the insane shit in it for months!
Don’t think you need to worry about the Acolyte ignoring the Sith novels either, the High Republic Era this is based in references them all the time, they’re basically still canon.
Plus the creator has already mentioned the EU/Legends novels in interviews as being foundational to the show. She’s a huge fan of them.

Well, firstly, a series about the Sith, and in the trailer we see a huge number of Jedi .Secondly, people are just used to mediocre Star Wars TV series and no longer believe in trailers

Do some research on what the director has said and what she "stands" for and you'll understand. She wants to make Star Wars content with NO WAR. Also she hates straight white men. This is basically DEI: The Show.

I like Star Wars but I've never been a huge fan, I'm a Star Trek guy but I will freely admit that Star Wars has the most complete and detailed universe of any movie or TV show franchise and is only revealed by the MCU. Star Trek has only in the last decade or so really started trying to lay down what cannon and what not and seems to be going the Star Wars route in making some of the independent Star Trek writer's books cannon and then with the newer shows starting to fill in and create opportunities for new characters that can then be spun-off into new projects like the upcoming Section 31 Show.

I don’t get involved in politics but the true reason for the hate does also comes from who’s directing it. People are worried about how it’ll turn out because of comment she made about George Lucas and Star Wars. Stories have only become an agenda, not story. That’s why all these films and shows are failing, because the people are not focused on making good story, rather pushing agenda. I’m not going to get involved in the politics, I do think it is important for shows to focus more on good storytelling and showing people being equal, rather than always being a platform just to push viewpoints. Star Wars was a place where people can escape this stuff, escape the world.
Star Wars was based on real life events, and politics, though. I agree with what you’re saying, but George Lucas himself based the stories off WW2 events in some fashion. There’s always gonna be biases, the Empire was based off what it might’ve been like had Hitler actually won. It’s all political, it’s just folks were fine with it being elements they agreed with in the past.
@@nate8604 Totally get where you’re coming from. Valid point! The issue I raise is when the line is blurred between inspired and overwritten. That’s the problem is that story and good writing is being overwritten by the need to pass a point. There are great examples of movies based on real life and that are meant to convey a message that still don’t sacrifice good writing and story for it. That’s where I was going with that

1) I think you are confusing the director of the Rey movie to the showrunner of Acolyte, they’re not the same person and Leslye Headland hasn’t said anything about Lucas or Star Wars beyond that she’s been a longtime fan and a huge nerd especially of the EU books.
2) I fail to see what “agenda” has been pushed, you may have to point it out to me but where is it do the stories fail because of agenda? I mean Andor is the most political show and the most agenda pushing show, and yet it has also probably been the best of the current Star Wars shows.

The killmonger haircut doesn’t match the rest of the aesthetic of Star Wars. Maybe for a smuggler but not a Jedi. Other than that I’m excited for the show
