Yukawa Hidekazu was the guy who really pushed Sega during the birth of the Dreamcast. He revolutionized the company and so he should of as he was Senior Managing Director of Sega during that time.
Sadly his hard work didn't pay off as well as he had hoped. Still, he did bring us the Dreamcast's answer to Segata-san Shiro, HIMSELF !
Yukawa stared in all the early Dreamcast commercials and they were good! He even brought us this song, Dreamcast!
Enjoy! -
Dreamcast
OH Dreamcast
OH Dreamcast
OH Dreamcast
OH Dreamcast
OH Dreamcast

Stuff like this is why even though I was born after the dreamcast was discontinued I'm still a big sega fan
'Oh! Dreamcasto....' - So true Yukawa-san.

Man I miss how simple and innocent those days were.
Innoncent? Have you seen the ads sega and nintendo were producing back the days.
We are at the innoncent time, before they used sex as a way to advertise the fucking consoles.
@@ModernButSimple Sex frightens you, huh?
@@johns8369 yea..

the guy that points at Yukawa when he walks in in the kimono kills me, he's so fucking exited

OOOOH DREAMCAST!!! saludos desde España
I learned about this song only with sega's recent 60th anniversary album.. Now it's hard for me to stop humming it, soon it will probably make me buy Dreamcast
This is also the ONLY copy of the video on UA-cam. In fact, the full video can't be found. I edited this one together myself from various clips of the official video and the making of the video.

He'll never be forgotten. I moved to Japan in November of 1998. I was here for the whole Dreamcast launch. I saw the adds on TV. Played the consoles in front of stores. Lined up on day one to buy a system with VF3 and Godzilla. While all along we were seeing Mr. Yukawa's face everywhere. He'll always have a special place in my memory.
I still have a Yukawa box dreamcast imported from japan. Looks really cool.
Me too. There are in fact two different styles. One with a large image of home and another with many smaller images taken from the TV ads.
I had the Yukawa packaging on my Japanese launch Dreamcast, I always thought it was a pretty cool marketing scheme.
It sure was. Basically they were saying "We know we messed up but now we want to change" . Sega did change too. the Dreamcast had so many new and great IPs for it.
Yes, but it was not only the great games, it was the how SEGA organized their inhouse partys very clever (e.g. Overworks). It was a really clever management Sega finally did with the Dreamcast ... but it was too late.
Was half expecting Segata Sanshiro to crash that party and beat the shit out of everyone for replacing the Sega Saturn.
It would have been awesome to be him during the advertising campaign of the dreamcast
Trully a unique way to promote a console and it worked. At the time, the Dreamcast was the fastest selling console in Japan, ever.
rest in peace to a real one
You said it, a genuine guy indeed.
Oh Dreamcasto please make our dreams come true.
I've just bought the CD containing this single ! xD
Hehe, nice.
This is perfect - thanks for uploading!
I loved the commercials that he did but didn't know about this
Glad you enjoyed it!
Incredible.
This song had brainwashed myself into buying a PAL Dreamcast from Ebay. And I did buy one.

Dreamcast is the best console ever!!!!!!!!
All I can think now is a mecha-Dreamcast fighting monsters with Kikaioh and Daitan 3.
Now that's an odd thought :)
That's for sure, but the song - well, at least if I close my eyes and I forget about the weird video - distinctly resonates like an early '80s super-robot anime theme, with me. :D
Galdelico haha, yeah, I can see that.
Yea
i prefer this, at sony's executives arrogance......
This is late 90's salaryman steez- go to cabaret club after!
Kevin what's his face? eat your heart out. This guy is a real executive
No entiendo nada, me encanta!

Cool. Can you make subtitles for all text in this video?
All the text? It's possible I guess. I'll think about it when I have time.
Yes. It's interesting to know what the characters of the video say.
Oh, I see. You want me to subtitle the people speaking? I can tell you that they are just complimenting.
DAMN
SONY AND PETER MORE
This also reminds me of a tame version of drunken salary man party. The last one I saw had some wasted guy head butting shot glasses on the table. The owners didn't even seem to care. They can be some of the most obnoxious people when they're drunk. Funny how everyone thinks they're so well mannered .
Those Japanese you see on that video are dicks in real life without being drunk. I know all too well after living here for 18 years. Most people are really nice though.

Oh no I've seen it in person as I lived there as well for about 5 years from late 1999 to early 2000's. Most people in general are quite nice but I saw alot of annoying drunks all over the place. Usually in the subways they're just quiet and passed out but when things are getting lively during drinking sessions they could be some pretty rude an childish people. I guess it's there way of blowing off steam.
RickRudesMustache Maybe things are different in the big city? I don't remember what it was like when I lived in Tokyo about 17 years ago but where I live now the people that are dicks in real life are the biggest dicks when drunk too. I guess it depends upon the area. People in Yamaguchi where I live are in general a lot more happier, calmer and nicer than where I work in Kitakyushu.

Don't get me wrong I loved Japan. I just find it funny when you see alot of people who have never been, having this idealized notion that Japanese society is perfect. I've seen way more violence in America but I once did see two Japanese men get into it in a bar where one knocked the other out with a stool. Although they seemed like more of the wannabe American thug type.

They'd be other employees I'd imagine.
They are employes

Your death was THE SAME FROM Napoleón Bonaparte
its not nostalgia, things really were better
Weird and embarrassing ahah xD
Sure is but cool when you concider the high position this guy held.
So Japanese, so cool.
If i was senior Managing Director of Sega during the Dreamcast era id be rocking out with my dong out. fact!
Thank your lucky stars Yukawa Hidekazu has far more dignity.
Dam i miss the old sega, nothing like it.
Mike Contra
Oh man, now I don't want to imagine your dong swinging about :p
you know with the right amount of saké i cud make a killa dreamcast logo.
Oh the shame :(
All jokes aside this really was such a great time in gaming, Sega truly did start over again and launch the 6th gen into the stratosphere.
Only thing i would add to these amazing videos is a burning effigy of Bernie Stolar. Still I'll forgive the omission as it would bring the upbeat tone down.
A burning effigy of Mr. Stolar would be great but yeah, it would ruin the fun atmosphere of this video.
